I have also found that setting the dynamic range to limited instead of full in the nvidia color settings lowers the banding a bit in Dell. But the colors get a bit washed out.

Hey can you give me your osd color and brightness settings and nvidia color settings for the Dell? I have the same exact Dell monitor. 😀

In my country the S2719dgf is more expensive "30$ different" so which is better option to get regardless the price, I have seen many people in reddit who says that the s2719dgf is better and newer panel.

Not for nothing but one of the scenes the woman standing, her neck seemed totally washed out on the IPS. Both looked pretty much the same to me? NO way would I spend 700 euro for the IPS. I have the dell 24" TN and I'm quite happy with it💖

The Dell has amazing colors if calibrated right. I found the perfect calibration that makes it look like an IPS panel.

The old DG is really a better monitor. Especially when thinking you are going to do other staff with it than game all day, it is important to be good.

Love the gsync model got mine on father's day for 300$ . Ajust the color settings on the nvidia screen and makes it look amazing best monitor i had

People always talk about Blacks when comparing IPS and TN but look at the 4 minute mark of the video at the light at the top. The IPS is white while the TN is yellow. I think the whiter whites is even more noticeable and a bigger selling point for me. Also, yikes at that backlight bleed around 6 minutes.

They're up to revision 11 or 12 so definitely I think the colors and the banding are improved a lot also this panel has no grain finish on it so it literally is one of the best TN panels money can buy either way maybe you just had a bad model but I believe the g-sync model goes through more testing so the picture would be better regardless

Back light bleed can vary a lot across monitors of the exact same model, depending on your luck, so a one unit sample size doesn't necessarily mean anything here. (No criticism meant, you can't buy scores of them :)) Of course, it could mean that other shortcuts are made on the cheaper model and they may be consistently worse. Who knows :) I know things can be sent back nowadays but blacklight bleed is a real lottery it feels like. Have to go with either TN or VA as I hate IPS glow. VA looks nice and some good priced stuff out there, but slow colour transmission causing ghosting is a real concern. Still no such thing as a perfect monitor sadly.

Can't believe the new model is cheaper than the older one, but then the Edge-light bleeding is such a distraction for me since I DARK MODE everything. Lol. Although older, I did pay more and went with the 2716. I guess for a TN, it's good. The low-refresh and minimal input delay have been great. Wish Dell made this monitor but in IPS with certified sRGB accuracy and the same low-input/refresh rate. =P

I have an acer coming tomorrow. If its no good looks like i'll be grabbing the dell instead.

ips will always be better in viewing angles and colors. I have the Dell s2716dg monitor myself and honestly for a TN panel it's really good. I played the ips lottery with 3 different monitors and honestly if you get a ips with minimal backlight bleed and no dead pixels and not bad ghosting or no ghosting keep it you lucked out. Maybe it's cause I went midrange I only had a budget of $600 for a monitor but the Dell TN panel had no backlight bleed no dead pixels no ghosting sure colors aren't as vibrant and the viewing angles aren't as good as ips but it's still very good for a TN panel more so after calibration I don't know what rev I got it's a 2019 model but I don't have color banding on mine as long as it's not a Netflix video. But those are compressed videos so of course they normally have issues like that to save file space. There is a reason why when you download a Netflix movie for offline viewing it only takes up 3GB of space at 1080p. A uncompressed 1080p movie should take up 25GB or more.
