Can i get decent university without research publication? I don't have any research publication and i don't have any interest in research thing so is it fine ?

My son did BE at bits pilani with electronics & Instrumentation Major and got GPA of 7.7. Now he is working at Wells Fargo as a SDE for the past two years. He wants to pursue ms in cs at NEU. Is he having chance to get admit with low GPA and non computer background. Please suggest other universities suitable to him. But he is interested to do MS at NEU. Some colleges just give cgpa like very easy. A guy in iit having 7 cgpa is mich better than a person with 9.4
