why did you use Henry Aluminum (555) rather than 887? You did mention leaks. I don't think 555 stops leaks. Henry 885 for seams and junctions, then 887 as a topcoat should get rid of your leaks and prolong the life of your underlying roof.

This is just an outrageous cost for what is essentially a glorified VW in the cheapest trim, not even particularly fast or cool or special. I briefly considered 2019+ Cayenne S to replace my 2013 LX570 with a V8 and 200k miles but it would be a huge downgrade in every possible way including reliability, I'd venture to guess a brand new Cayenne is less reliable than 200k mile Lexus.

My best advice, even though you're done this, create control lines next time. It can sure be a pain by yourself, but it would help make sure everything is square and all. And if you leave them up, it would help seperate projects line up really nicely. Best method if you aren't aware, is marking 3 points of a right triangle. Make it a 3-4-5, or any multiple of that(9-12-15). That would simplify things a lot.

I have a 2013 4Runner with 450K miles. Aside from consumables, I think the only thing needing replacement was the alternator. It cost me about $33K when it had about 30K miles on it in 2014. Having previously owned an Audi and an air-cooled VW, I learned to stay away from the brand. Yes, I enjoyed working on them. But as my Mom once said, I spent about as much time under them as in them. I would never own a Porsche. I’m an engineer and my passion for creating things that last is just too in conflict with the entire VW/Audi/Porsche way of doing things. (There - I stated my feelings without resorting to incivility and vulgarity. I think I’ll congratulate myself and enjoy the rest of my day.)

Get a transfer case from a Junk yard. And I heard that if the transfer case is properly maintained, then they don't have issues.
