God I missed this. And it’s real shame that they only play the Kai version on tv now and you can only find the original on streaming with the original and quite frankly less impressive soundtracks.

I cant remember how the tunes mashed up when i watched it as a kid. It used to be the rock the dragon opening then the end of this opening for the title screen im pretty sure.

Rock the Dragon is certainly iconic, but this is the Dragonball Z I grew up with.

In the U.S we had Rock the Dragon in the 90's and this intro in the early 2000's.

I have the original 4 episode DVDs and the season set DVDs and the only thing that I don't like about the seasons is the lack of the true US version. But I appreciate the original Japanese version too.

I think Funimation took inspiration from the 1994 Spiderman series intro....rock music and a montage of different action packed scenes defining what Dragon Ball Z is

I was too young to really watch DBZ as a kid, but I’d watch any VHS tapes we had because my brother was a huge fan of the show and this opening has lived in my head rent free for nearly two decades.

That 1:25 part always gave me good vibes. Like the personification of Goku that no matter the circumstance or shall I say battle everything will be alright

For one reason or another, I've noticed that the trendy thing is to hate on Faulconer music. "Oh it's not Head Cha La, so it's automatically bad." I'm not bothered by this opinion, but find it puzzling that's the reason people hate this.

I try to tell people this opening is real but they don't believe me. They think rock the dragon is the only one. Thank you for giving me this proof.

I wish they'd do a proper US DVD broadcast release. I so bad would love to have the exact version I saw on TV. But it's like impossible unless you recorded it on VHS. I hate it.

In terms of just being the greatest and most hyped intro musically, nothing has since beaten this intro. Toriyama brought us the amazing story, and Falconer enticed Americans even further with his own additions to the music. Result? The greatest anime fan base in history. Rest in power, Akira. Your legacy will never be forgotten. It has become the literal definition of anime.

How about playing this theme song while vegeta appears.... It would be so badass....

This is so fucking sick! I know its not the og score or anything like it but it was the shit. It gets you hyped for some fights. The riff that starts at 0:42 is iconic and id argue meant a ton to people everywhere. If i want that on crunchy roll that should be my choice. Get the faulcner score on streaming!

its funny that they used the same opening song for legacy of goku 2 but then changed the dub theme so you almost cant find it every time I search for this song I get every other opening song but not this one
