So i have the top filterbank on the ms20 that is trying to do percussion (badly) and the lower FB is playing the MS50, that is getting notes from the SQ10, transposed by the MS10 keyboard. No idea what i'm doing but it's fun.

so someone asked me to hear the sherman on a drum machine. here is ONE filterbank (top only) connected to the minipops 7 - and output to the multi echo to keep it intresting. i DID connect the hi output to the adsr trig and the low output to the input of the filterbank. (so i can keep the input low, we don't want another overdone overdrive video, do we) - ok Herman, i did check a bit of the man...
If the SYNTRX II matrix is too bright, dim it with a PAR colorfilter! It's way darker IRL BTW 8-)

I'm too sensitive for recent led stuff. Here is how i fix the matrix. Now that terrible bright Trapezoid LED needs another solution. Atm i just have 5 (!) sticky paper dots over it, 4 red and 1 blue.

Nice beats, I'm always a sucker for some synth! I like your dedication to having fun with the hardware as opposed to simply doing gear reviews or, even worse, not posting at all. Subscribed because of the principle of having fun! I actually found your channel off of Jon's video about musicians making videos about making music. I was noticing that there were a lot of musicians (including me) who wanted to make music but were lacking motivation or support, or feeling like their music wasn't being heard. Because of this, I'm working on making a community on Discord that can provide some of that encouragement to keep going forward. I'd like to invite you - if you're up for it - to join and share your music! It sounds like you've already got your head on straight as far as the goal of making music (having fun) so I think your example could really help some people to remember why they started making music in the first place. We don't currently have very many people, but I'm working on inviting more people as we speak. If you don't want to join or you're uncomfortable with that it's perfectly fine. Let me know what you think!

I learned so much from this beat, it was a song but my voice was not good enough to wanabe Prince. And now without the vocals, i can hear it isn t on the grid enough. Anyway, just having fun. 😎

This is great. Is this E-RM sending clock to the Minipops? I would love to modify mine this way without installing the Tubutec midi mod, as I don't really need extra features that come with it, just to be able to sync the Minipops to external clock. I would appeciate if you could share more info how you did it. Cheers!
Yes. The minipops has a jack input hidden in the cable compartment. That will start the unit and keep sync. I also have the chd unit to a cr78 running from the erm so i can have them both running. It is so much fun. Atm i m working on a waltz using both this way. The mod was done by a guy in Germany who also recapped it. He s the ‘an behind a lot of clone building, like the wasp (jasper) and he also did my arp sequencer.

Thanks for the vid :) the below info is not mentioned in the 'Mucking Fanual', but know that RANGE EXTENTION makes the sound totally different and weaker at certain settings. Proper 'TRACKING' (not in middle position = active), requires harmonic not 'free' + a certain amount of FM and works best with a monophonic tone at the input. F1 influences the track bias, keep F2 on zero for normal operation. MIDDLE POSITION ADSR SWITCH Here ADSR trigger 'freezes' in the red zone of the LFO, This bizar 'feature' is incorporated after a batch of FB's accidentally got 3-pos switches. The LFO has a randomly influence on the ADSR. The working of this is very dependent on the ADSR settings and LFO speed. The ADSR can be softly retriggered by the LFO in some ADSR settings. NOISE GENERATOR/ FEEDBACK CIRCUIT featured in all Filterbank2 models from serial number 7786 and higher. This circuit is activated when no jack is plugged at the input, there are 4 different modes • both outs plugged : pure noise at input * • only 'Main out' plugged : noise & feedback mixed * • only 'Out1' plugged : feedback thru filter 2 * • only 'Out1' half plugged : pre VCA tap feedback thru filter 2 * The noise * /feedback generator is pitched by filter 1 clock sample & hold circuit ( * half plug any jack in input will stop the noise generator and thus offer alternative feedback effects) RANGE EXTENSION FUNCTION featured in all Filterbank2 models from serial number 8280 and higher. Prior to this serial number, in Harmonic mode, Freq2 knob and ADSR amount knob were not used. In Harmonic mode (blue led on) while Freq2 knob and ADSR amount knob are not zero, this function will: • transpose both center frequencies • downscale the harmonic ratios gradually • cut away low on LP and BP (sounds thinner) • boost low in HP (evolves to all pass) • create cross modulation interference distortion via all possible Freq2 modulations : Freq2 knob, ADSR, LFO, FM and MIDI Mod wheel

No cartridge. I wish i had a cartridge. They are impossible to find. I did sync it with the sq1.
@@klinkske Ah ok. I thought so. Then you can't benefit from the sound of the Minimamut or. I believe that the Minimamut had a sound preset without a card. Is it possible that you can hear the sound of the Minimamut if you connect it to a 606, for example? Probably only with a card, right?
there is no card in it and you can hear the sound and tweak it. So it does have 1 sound with no card. I don't know if a tr606 could trigger it. I don't own a tr 606. But i could try it with another roland TR or the TT606 maybe.

People are right about the Sherman Filterbank 2! I don't know about the Sherman Filterbank 1. But I mean, get this... These sound just like a faulty clothes dryer that's about to catch on fire!!! Do you think the Sherman Filterbank 1 sounds like a washing machine? Maybe they are made to work as a washer and dryer combo. Only God knows. So you say you make music ah? Cool!

Do not misunderstand. It's great. It also changes. Music today is just a 4-bar loop made from a collage of pre-recorded BS from the 70s and 80s with some moron talking over it, or with a modern auto-tuned version of Milli Vanilli adding more noise to the noise. Just a pretty face with the talent of a bacteria. The lyrics? Well, they have a 25-year-old boy scout who thinks like a mentally challenged 4-year-old who writes all the lyrics to all the major artists. I can't compare you to that. Also compared to that you are a real production genius, a real real musician. I mean… look at you! You are enjoying yourself and you are dancing with your thing! I don't know if you play any instrument, and please excuse me if I am wrong. But if you don't play any musical isntrument, why don't you learn some music theory and some piano. It doesn't need to be like classical piano, or jazz! You know something pretty basica. I can tell you love music! I am 100% sure it will opne a new musical dimention to your repertoire of ideas. I've never heard anyone say that the Sherman 2 filter bank doesn't sound good. S2 is considered one of the best filters of modern times. By the way, I can't hear any Sherman in the video.
i turn the wet knob open at 3 seconds, the ms50 synth gets a bunch of low, that is the sherman :) - i also tweak the percussion on the top filter, but indead that is less obvious in the mix (it's just the phone recording)
I'm not hearing the Shermans. Maybe the gain is too low. Own 2 Shermans. One is paired with 3 Moogerfoogers to make a very cool rhythm/drum machine. A Korg SQ-1 pings the Fooger Phaser, then into a Ring Mod and then Clusterflux, then into the Sherman. The filterbank is the star of the show. The FM CV in uses the Carrier wave from the Ring Mod and the AM CV in is from the aux output of the Phaser. SQ-1 triggers the CV attack/release. Thanks for the video.
