@KartingWithDaz Hi, yeah no problem. There's actually only 3 main braking zones at Gridline, the first hairpin, the bottom of the ramp, and the last hairpin. I do also slightly tap the brakes coming into the tighter right turn next to the pits, but that's only because I prefer to use a tighter entry line into it. Most drivers generally take a wider line so they just let off the accelerator without needing to brake. Just depends on your driving style. Gridline have actually very recently posted a video of the exact braking points which might be helpful for you too. I hope that helps!

I use a little bit in a few different places just to get the kart out of the turns a bit quicker. Then whatever is left I use on the back straight before the finish line. So a little bit after turn 2, a bit going up the ramp, and a bit coming out of the hairpin at the bottom of the ramp

@@superkartblondie Hi, sorry come to pester you for more tips lol, for the upstairs section do you brake at all or just lift and do you have any extra tips for it? I'm struggling to get it right without oversteering and losing a bunch of time lol. Got my time down to a 34.7 now, looking to push it further

@EGDYT22 that's okay! So I do actually tap the brakes for the first tighter turn near the pit exit to get the kart rotated, but I take quite a tight line coming into it than most people do. For that one it really depends on your driving style as you can also take a wider line and just turn in without needing to use the brakes too. I'd suggest trying both and see which line you prefer. Though the track grip levels can make a massive difference haha

I honestly have no idea. The whole track was still under yellows at that point, so there shouldn't have been any overtaking at all. Let alone on the hairpin where the accident was. And I just wasn't expecting anyone to dart on the inside of me there either. Was just a very disastrous race lol

@@whracing it was a lot better than I was expecting to be fair! I'd never been before but was pleasantly suprsied by the track and the karts! And nice staff there too. Will definitely visit again sometime 👍

@@superkartblondie Fun is the main thing! Just chuck it up the inside a few times, on people you know so they don't get mad if it doesn't work & you put them in the barrier. :P It's really hard to overtake on indoor tracks without making any contact, remember "rubbing is racing" :P

My honest answer is that I have absolutely no idea lol. I meant to ask them after this race but completely forgot, not that I found it distracting. But I'll see if I can find out.

Absolutely, I completely agree! Hitting traffic is one of the most frustrating parts of a race, especially on indoor tracks xD But after a few laps of being behind someone you can soon pick up on where they're slowest to make an overtake, even if it means a savage lunge is needed xD

Definitely! This track can very unforgiving on certain sections lol. I'm not too sure if they count the time from leaving the pit lane to line up on the grid or not. But if so that would add up to the full 30 mins.

Thank you, it's a great track! Drives very similar to Nottingham Teamsport. Hope you enjoy your visit! Hmmm..the best tip I can give is not to crash! xD But on a serious note as it is a bit of a slidey surface you can end up losing a lot of momentum drifting the kart. So try to use as little steering input as possible through the hairpins, as this will give you a quicker line and exit speed. A good example of this can be seen at 7.35 in this vid going round the hairpin. I hope that helps 👍

Yeah I tend to visit quite regularly as it's a great place. If you haven't already tried the superpole event on a Tuesday evening, it's well worth a go.

This was a couple of months ago which were low 36s, but lap times have got quicker since. I believe the record is now mid 35s 👍

@@superkartblondie can't wait. I was gutted with my result. Took them 2 laps to rescue me. I spun because of someone else's accident. I think they need one more Marshall for the back of the track. 3min15 it took. I was in 8th finished second to last. Looking forward to the video. Hopefully get some clues as to how you were so fast. 😊

@@justdave6666 yeah I would agree with you about the lack of marshalls. They could do with a couple more spaced around the track for accidents and also for the flags. I ended up spinning out too on the qualifying as my kart was leaking fuel 😂
