I truly cannot comprehend that this twink turned into our viking Marko but then I see his silly goofy eye movements and I go "Yup, that's the same dude"
Like most men with enough bandwidth to recognise that we are still in the iteration of popular culture which started in the '60s, I am a paid-up subscriber to the view that '70s/'80's Joanna Lumley - with her intelligence, presence and looks - was just about the most magnetically attractive woman to grace the UK television scene. The only question mark over her, for me, was that the late '60s Lumley - even in the Bond appearance - seemed like the less striking sister of the indubitably beautiful woman we knew, post "The New Avengers". As any intelligent observer cannot dispute sexual attractiveness - for BOTH genders - comes into its own at about 19 years of age; plateaus for a few short years (about 10 for the most genetically blessed) before commencing an initially glacial decline which tends to perceptibly accelerate after about 40 towards the decrepitude which is the ultimate destination of all higher life forms. I think this is something to do with skin quality (fullness AKA 'nubile' [for women] and reduction in levels of testosterone). That Lumley seemed to depart from this ironbound law made me wonder if her beauty was in fact genuine or simply a fortuitous 'smoke and mirrors' effect of the tv screen, fame, that voice, being upper middle-class and that slow, megawatt smile with the last word in 'tombstone' teeth. What I saw here was more evidence in support of that thesis up to the point where she appeared in evening dress. This is the first time I have seen the young Joanna Lumley with the hair swept back from her forehead and what a transformation! Suddenly I saw exactly why, as she said herself in an interview from 1968, about 8 big London photographers were running around claiming to have been the one to have 'discovered' her. Somehow, the face is both refined and softened, uncovering the stomach-punch beauty I expected to witness the very first time I learned that I was to see an image of Joanna Lumley in her very early 20s. Definitely worth the wait! Also wish I knew WHY she never went to Hollywood... (though a part of me is glad she didn't: even with her insane levels of poise, self-awareness, and self-possession, eventually she would have been worn down in that uber-competitive environment and lost something which would have been a real shame).
Marko 😮😮😮😮ohaa
Thanks so much for subtitling this. Even just a two minute video like this can give so much insight into his genius.
So weird to think his future band was in elementary school, transitioning to middle school at this time.
<3
I didn't follow Alexi Laiho's career while he was alive, but I don't know how to explain it, in all the videos I saw he seemed like a nice guy, escaping the silly stereotype that they create for some musical styles. Randy Blythe(Lamb of God) also has that same aura.
When i watch videos like this with Alexi. I often hold back tears. TRuly A one of a kind Metal guitarist. he had his own sound. difficult to do in such a saturated world in modern metal guitar players. Such a sweet guy at heart and and a kind soul. Amazing Talent. TRuley missed and not forgotten.
😊 So much fun, looking at each other for queues and stepping back to let each other solo. I say again: 😊
Спасибо что сохранили всё русское на Валааме и не выгнали провославных. Уважение вам соседи.
1:46 I knew his metal side would come out eventually 😂
This was the first time I myself ever televoted in any Eurovision context (maybe it was the first time it was even possible in Finland), and when Nightwish didnd't win, despite overwhelming televote win, I was so mad I didn't watch Eurovision for years (until 2004, that is). :)
he feels so comfortable in front of his Finnish people, it's too bad he is not with us anymore 😢
Qué bonita estaba Tarja aquí.
What are Nordic countries known for? Amazing metal. I’m sorry Finland, but your neon green wasn’t up to par & pretty insulting to music.
Good on Anette and Thomas for the confidence
What I find awesome in this interaction is that you have this veteran Jazz pianist who’s having a blast playing a blues jam with a Melodeath guitarist. The most open Jazz musician I’ve ever seen.
Iiro Rantala is a great jazz pianist and composer. And also a very funny man.
Fascinating 🤔
ua-cam.com/video/WU7XfHElpvU/v-deo.html Happy smile, just doing what he's like to do, good music! RIP Legend.
RIP Legend.
Holy shit, that lynx is so much faster than the wolf.
Eurasian lynx 50mph > Wolf 37mph > bobcat 30 mph.
wolf wasn’t running full speed
@@RandySavagxe it was literally running for its life. Lynx is onviously fast af boi.
@@brentgroenendijk3692 The wolf knows the lynx can’t kill it it’s baiting and playing with the lynx to get the cubs.
@RandySavagxe either way a wolf at top speed is only in the 30-40mph range. 1 of these type of lynxes can top out at 50, so it's a huge difference if both are at top speed. A wolf isn't touching 40mph whereas a slow lynx is 40mph.
❤🖤
Ennen oli kauniita rakennuksia!
God this sound like shit !
Aleksi, what a funny, joyful soul. I remember meeting him more than 10 years ago, he can easily talk for hours and hours about playing guitar and other things. He was funny, knowledgeable, easy-going and whatever happened with him it makes me very sad, everyone is battling personal demons, but I also know that the music industry can be a cunt. Respect and Rest In Peace, he was so much more that what he was showing to people.
For non-finnish speakers, Alexi says ''Sorry, i messed that up''. Rest in peace Wild Child!
Yeah he ment the ending and laughed to that. 😁🤘
Such a great improvisation and such a horrible tone
God dam I miss u alexi
Почему его никто не спас? Почему его бросили в беде одного?
Annette is sweet and down to earth and a damm good singer. Would have been interesting to seen what thier next album would have been like if annette was still with them. Things happen i guess.
What a beautiful human - RIP
surullista että hän on JO kuollut :/
Yeah it is....its a real shame that he couldn't get it together and beat his addictions. I'm glad I quit drinkin...but I didn't have a choice it was either I quit or I would be in the same situation...It'll be one year in April since I quit. Do I miss it yes.
nick cave's own life story?
Great
R.I.P Alexi🙏

Suomessa on liikaa hävitetty vanhoja, hienoja rakennuksia kaupungeistamme. Olemme porukalla käyneet pari kertaa Puolassa. Varsovahan pommitettiin melkein maan tasalla viime maailmansodassa. Meille näytettiin filmejä entisestä Varsovasta ja pommitetusta Varsovasta. Puolassa oli löytynyt piirustuksia, vanhoista arvokkaista rakennuksia. He puhdistivat vanhojen rakennus-ten tiilet raunioista ja rakensivat rakennukset samanlaisiksi uudestaa.
The time he took to answer that mans question, Alexi was gold. The interviewer was mud tier
man Alexi was such a badass, this Is literally his tune, wild child playing stray cat🤘
I love how excited Erja seems to listen to Alexi talk about a completely different style of guitar playing.
And this is why you don’t use EMGs for bluesy stuff
Seems like he was happy on the outside, but something happened in 2016. He said to Janne "I'm gonna drink myself to death". Wonder what happened..
Did he really tell him that? That would explain everything
@@LesPau0425 Yeah, it was Blabbermouth interview. Here's a quote what Janne said: "Alexi's downfall started in 2016," Janne said. "I don't know what caused him to do that. He told me but didn't tell anyone else in the band - he made sure no one else was in the room - and told me, 'Dude, from now on, I'm going to drink until I die.' I said, 'Fuck, man. You can't say that to me.' He said it another time in 2018.
@@DaniTheDead that may have been the beginning of the end but he had a drinking problem for many many years and already had done a lot of damage to his body by 2016, maybe he could’ve still turned his life around if he quit drinking in 2016 but it seemed he just said fuck it and continued drinking as much if not more than before and he was already a serious alcoholic. He lived the rockstar life for a long time and sadly it eventually caught up to him like it does to so many others. Always sad to see insanely talented musicians drink/drugs themselves to death, like alexi or Layne Staley or so many others, shit sucks. Anyway RIP Alexi, a true all time great metal guitarist.
I think he just gave up on trying to get better at this point...
Finnish drinking culture differs a lot from U.S for example. Men like Alexi might start drinking heavily 12-13 years old and never stop - starting from weekends and turning into an alcoholic. Then many of them drink themself to death either as young people or old when their body quits. "I will drink myself to death" is something a Finnish person probably heard before. Worlds happiest country my ass, they are fooling you in the media
Jarkko, oot paras 👍👍👍💙💙💙💙.
Dude, that big guy behind Alexi is so creepy. And the chick guitarist wants Alexi's balls.
🤩🤩🤩
Man the rhythm kicks ass!
To put it lightly, he doesn’t exactly blend in with the crowd! We miss you wild child
Yes!
i don't know.. the dude behind the piano is a pretty cool musician. Check out Iiro Rantala: Pekka Pohjola - beautiful. It's a song he wrote for his musician friend who passed away (who was also a really famous finnish prog musician). He was also in Trio Töykeät, which I haven't listened to that much but they're pretty well known over here too. I dug the stuff he did with the beatboxer Felix Zenger - Greetings from Assisi being a good example. So, stylistically different, sure, but that seems to have been the beauty of this show that they did invite all kinds of musicians, and they listened to each other.
