Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets.

Cuphead is a 2017 run and gun game developed and published by Studio MDHR. The game follows its titular teacup-headed character and his brother Mugman, as they make a deal with the Devil to pay casino losses by repossessing the souls of runaway debtors. In the game, up to two players control Cuphead and/or Mugman to fight through several levels and boss fights; the game does not have a rigid narrative structure. As the game progresses, the protagonist acquires more power and abilities, eventually facing the Devil himself. Players, however, can only equip a limited number of these abilities at a given time.
Pico's School is a 1999 Flash game developed by Tom Fulp for his website Newgrounds. At the time of its release, it was "one of the most sophisticated" browser games, exhibiting "a complexity of design and polish in presentation that [was] virtually unseen in amateur Flash game development". It has been widely credited with kickstarting the Flash games scene and helping launch Newgrounds "as a public force".
The game is a point-and-click adventure/shooter which puts the player in the shoes of the titular Pico, who has to fight a group of stereotypical goth kids who have killed their classmates.
Week 6, titled Hating Simulator ft. moawling, is the sixth level in Friday Night Funkin'. It was released on the 2nd of February, 2021. Boyfriend faces off against Senpai, the dreamy dating sim love interest. Later, Boyfriend also faces off against Spirit, a tortured soul left to an existence of suffering by Daddy Dearest.
The true location of this battle is inside of an old pixel-styled dating sim video game that Girlfriend plays. Week 6 takes place at "The School." This location is set at daytime on a large stone path leading towards a high school with a large clock and its own water tower. Several girls with heart eyes in blue Japanese school uniforms watch the closely in the background in enamored poses.
