For the ort ornaments, I had gotten a pack of 4 glass balls on clearance. I’ve left them in their container with the lids off but sitting in the middle of the container. I use snack sized plastic bags for daily use and migrate it to the balls when the bag gets full.

Finally all caught up! 🙌🏻 I had gotten really far behind on Flosstube because my September was such a blur, but I didn’t want to skip any of your updates, so I binged your videos from the past month yesterday and today! I love following along on your 100 day challenge and I’m excited about your plans for next year. I really would like to figure out and record my project’s birthdays to see what that looks like. Your idea of incorporating the birthdays and spinning for your older WIPs sounds great! Take care! 🤗

Oh I loved seeing all your Halloween. I don’t stitch it but you have some great pieces. Can you confirm how you hang the pieces on the walls? I saw the hangars but do you put threw a dowel or a string? We are mid harvest so the last few days I have been able to catch up with all your videos from months ago because I am at the weighbridge and you helped keep me company! Thanks again.

I use those plastic ornaments to put my pets in also. I usually get them from Walmart but I forgot last year and went looking after Christmas. I finally found some at the Dollar Tree store. I wait til after the year ends to put them in the ornament so I only have to handle it once

Ironing projects perhaps for a wip parade is feasible, but some of us can’t iron our way out of a paper bag. I quit using hoops because I cannot get the hoop marks out. I cannot imagine pulling the iron out weekly before filming. My projects live on their scroll frames and qsnaps and I’ll end up with a pile of finishes before the iron comes out to play (or torment me…) And unless politics are related to a major life event you just lived through (say a school tragedy, or a relative/friend is running for office etc), they’re generally not relevant to a flosstube. I did stop watching 1 person a few years ago because it went from “I’m a party A” in passing type comment to a whole sinkhole about their party. I can make educated guesses about various people’s affiliations, but it doesn’t really matter and it’s not my business. So for example, your channel name being witchy stitchers (or former name), I’d guess more left leaning, but again, not my business, and it’s not relevant so I don’t actually care. I sometimes get a bit annoyed with some of the boycotts on certain shops/brands because of various situations. Announcing you refuse to support shop 1, 2, 3 etc because they sell something you’re having issues with gets a bit…tedious to listen to. I’d rather they just say “I’m using a floss conversion of X color in place of Y color and not rehash the issue with Y brand. Or just don’t mention shop 1, 2, 3 because they sell this or that licensed thing. I understand that people feel things about stuff, I support people not buying whatever particular brand has had issues raised, but occasionally one needs to quit dumping on a shop or brand. If shop 1 carries “controversial brand”, brand B, brand C, brand D, you’re just hurting the entire shop boycotting it because of “controversial brand”. Go boycott “controversial brand” but support brand B, C and D. If “controversial brand” has bad sales, theoretically the shop will stop carrying it as it’s not making money.

I used to live in Colorado Springs for years and I remember the Arc. I miss it. I would always go in there and shop.

Love the project bags. My favorite is Snoopy but I also like the last bag with the clear front & handle.

Personally, mom and I love the project bags with the zippers on the very top. Technically, as long as I like the fabrics, I'll take just about any bag.😅 But definitely top zipper and the lightweight Pellon I like the best. Can't wait to see what bags you make! I'm going to make sure I have your Etsy favorites. Oh, and I don't know if anyone else had a problem, but I couldn't follow the link. I'm using my phone and don't know if it would work on my computer yet.

I wonder if the issue you’re having with blackbird projects is how the piece was photographed or if it got “antiqued” before photographing. Because if it’s a running theme, I doubt it’s the dye lot of every single project. I look at all the samplers people stitch and the cover photos look so different from the stitched piece. The cover photo rarely makes me perk up, the stitched piece I’m still not called to, but it can perk me up for the colors. Some cover photos are just so…small, unfocused, blah that it’s not even allowing you to see that the project is actually gorgeous. Mira’s I’ve noticed don’t sing to me until I see someone do it on a hand dyed fabric…the neutral browns of the cover photo detract for me. So if you try a blackbird again, floss toss the called for and some subs if the called for isn’t singing.

I, now, pull threads and really look at how they appear on my fabric, and I still end up not caring for some of my choices. Hate to rip out work and redo but you know, it sometimes happens. Give yourself grace on learning to sew clothing. Some skills are hard fought for, others come easily. Sometimes you need to pick your battles and balance convenience vs home made. I know someone who sews 90% of their own clothes. They found a top style that looks good on them, and when they find new fun fabric it’s basically the same top but different colors/fabrics. So if the blouse pattern is too much, feel free to look for a different style. Or have 2-3 store bought tops to give you time to figure out sewing your own. I took a sewing class in high school. Then didn’t sew for years, my skill level is basically making pillows now, but I don’t have space to set the machine up most of the time. (I really need to make a grime guard or 2…but whenever I’m in a good headspace for it, no room and/or time to do it.) You will figure out the new machine, you will figure out what works for your skill level and personal style/office suitability in tops, you can learn to do new styles. If your mom is a master seamstress and still curses some styles, clearly some styles are difficult even for experts.
