Great find! This is definitely a unique design, won't be many of these yet on the streets of New Zealand. I love how the rear of the truck is shaped similar to a spout on a jug you'd use in the kitchen so the waste can be "poured" out the back while keeping the truck body clean from the waste. What kind of compactor mechanism does this truck use to move the waste into the body of the truck? What sort of comments did the driver have with you?

This is an absolutely fascinating process to watch and I think must be unique to New Zealand. I can't imagine doing this in all types of weather, especially in heavy rain. Excellent video, well done 👏 👍

Excellent Video mate by the way did u know those bags will be gone next year and replaced with red Auckland Council bins instead as council is standardising waste collection across the region and currently those orange bags are PAYT (Pay As You Throw) so the new system will be rates funded

How come some of the garbage bins have a blue lid and some have a red lid is blue the old colour or something? and I know the black crates are glass and the orange bins are recycling. What are the red bags for that are next to the glass crates? Is that food waste?

Great video, very cool collection of the trucks unloading. When did you visit the EnviroNZ transfer station to film the WM SL0059 and SL0058? You don't mind the smell of the transfer station? That truck horn at 5:27 sure is loud when it echos around the enclosed building.

ha ha, the driver really could not make up his mind over the bin at 2:10 . Looks like it was full of polystyrene which is already a 'no-no' as our council does not collect his for recycling PLUS it was overloaded. Surprised he even bothered to stop and lifted the bin, I'd have kept on driving past. Maybe he lifted it to use the RFID tag on the bin to mark it as a contaminated bin? Next the resident of the bin will be complaining to the council that it did not get emptied. Great video, well done. Hope you enjoyed your time out with Nick.
