Imho, I think generally, in audio, bigger speakers means better performance. Even a small room would just have profit with bigger speakers. Problems may come with phase and aesthetic . Talking about 2 way bookshelf speakers distance of listening is more or less equal in all models. In 3-way diffusers we have to consider those phase problems checking if there's enough distance from listening point and speakers.

@@SimoRama I listened to a lot of bookshelf and tried it and what you said is true, the biggest one was ATC 19 and it really sounded bigger... I also tried tower-style speakers with 3-4 drivers, but I couldn't get the stage set up because they were available late, so it didn't work.

Filling them entirely gave me a sensation of a dry, aseptic sound, without harmonics. Now that I have the Revival Atalante3 I keep them empty altogether.

I found the solution with this ratio and I didn't spoil it any further, because when I lowered it, the sound developed negatively... In short, creating an empty space the length of your thumb from the top seems ideal to me.
