You will soon see how much I love being on the water especially with my daughter, Trinity. My hope it bring others into the joy of boating. The theme of this channel is to show how amazingly beautiful and energizing the water can be of all of us. At the same time the back story is boating in open water and even harbors can be inherently dangerous. These come from three primary factors; weather, unskilled boaters, and poorly maintained boats. Over the next several years I plan to release videos of the unforgettable experience that you can also have on the water boating. I would like to guide you through the path of the work and trying required to keep us safe and our "older" boat looking and running better than when it was new.

Here we have a quick and easy zipper repair you can do yourself. The zippers broke but the stitching did not rip out. The gliders were corroded and broken in a high wind. Please Subscribe! I have l new content coming! The CAT 3208 is one of the most widely used diesels found in larger pleasure boats and in many commercial vessels. This was my first experience with diesels and I couldn't even fid the spark plugs. Just kidding. The Cats in my 1982 38' Californian are running exceptionally well with only 2300 hours on them. A good and a bad thing for older engines....

great job on this - looks really classic. I'm looking at something similar with exact same engines but one has blown - what would you do if one of yours blew out?

The liquid is Gold Leaf size. It is a thin varnish. There is slow size and quick size. I use mostly slow size (12 hour tack time) vs. quick size (3 hour tack time). The slow gold is more durable and has a longer tack time. .

Great explanation. Millions of boats had these engines fitted.
One more thing that should be in the video is the location of the zinc plug rods, they do need to be change to help fight corrosion in the engine cooling system fresh or salt water, I would paint the plug red to make it easy to spot!

Hey Captain Lee !! I have a 1985 ford bucket truck with a 3208 (non turbo) caterpillar engine. I just got the engine in, and can't figure out the ignition and starter wires. Could you possibly send me some pics Or any info. on the wiring Please sir & Thank you
Hi Reggie, I just took my boat down to the Bahamas. 130 hours in 19 days. Engines ran great. I do have a schematic for the engines and I’ll look that up and see if I can post it here. It pretty much hooks up like a car engine with a starter solenoid.

Hi captain nice to meet you. Bless From Mexico i work in a Cabo 34" y have two 3208 turbo georgeours motor, make more video like this i will to now all about those motors hahaa im a worker but i like to lear every day. :)
Make a suggestion. The high pressure single wall steel tubes that supply high pressure fuel to the injectors can crack. Has happened to me. Once one does, that motor will not run. And trying to restart it will put diesel in the bilge (more than the initial leak from the cracking episode). The only fix I know is to have a high pressure hose made up with fittings to install between the injection pump and the injector. The hose will flex with each pulse and that cylinder will not fire, but the other 7 will, and you can get home ... You'll only need one spare universal line made up and set aside to get you home. These are basically very good engines for marine use. Your engine room looks really good :-)
Hi Broc, Having a spare high-pressure hose is an excellent suggestion I never thought of that. If one of those injector lines breaks it can ruin your day.
