I watched Methfu for several of the hardest fights, and it's hard to believe how much easier it used to be when Methfu played it. The bad guys have obviously been substantially buffed, Hard now seems tougher than Nightmare was then. I just played through the game for the first time in 2024, on Epic (Hard) difficulty (1 level than Methfu's Gzor's Nightmare). This boss has 1300hp on Hard now (vs. 999), and he managed to freeze 5/8 chars with one lucky Ice Storm on round 2. He also gets quite a few strong reinforcements every 3rd turn. None of which was even seen in this video. I think the crit rates were vastly nerfed at some point, I continuously marvel at how often Methfu crits in his videos, and you can't really spec for it much. My crit rates are all single digits chance, except maybe the thief. Crits are so fluky & rare that I avoided the gear/skills for the most part. The golem here is practically unkillable (~1850 hp, 30 Prot), unless you ignore all else for 3 rounds or more. I did manage to kill Zangdar at the end of turn 8 on my first try, by the skin of my teeth, literally on the last attack before he globed up again, had used max Randomia, and I had 3 guys down, Randomia now drained. I fully expected to have to retry. 2nd attempt would have gone much easier, as I would have avoided various mistakes I made in the first try. The mechanics of this fight are novel, and the reinforcements are not telegraphed, with at least 3 large waves. Methfu's playing quite well, but not substantially better than me, the game was made harder at some point. It's not quite the cakewalk it appears here.

The lantern bugged out because you used it when it was weakened, Which removes it from your line up and adds it back at the end of battle, Meaning it lost the upgrade as it's no longer the same one.

when you upgrade deadly contract you apply fragility to 2 enemies and it's great

new player here now i feel bad i crafted a ghost heavy armor i thought its good but hearing that medium armor is actually better feels like i wasted time lmao

I realy like farmers, ability to disengage enemies at will both from themselves and allies is invaluable early on. And good spearmen are hardest ones to get early on.

You are severely underrating how good inspiration for your entire team is its borderline broken you can just position everyone correctly and even send your rogues in and out like miles away if you run the skill that gives action points when standing next to friendlys and have leaders set up correctly it pays back like 10 fold you can just spam all your abillitys reach all important targets and be 100% save it also enables tons of cheese for hard fights since nothing can catch you Id pay 4 points for 1 round of a fully inspired team without the riposte effect

SO boring a game. You have a 2-dimensional tactical combat game as one part. Because it's two-dimensional, it's incredibly predictable and the only change as you progress are damage numbers and armor values. On the other hand you have the most boring, click-to-unlock 'skill/craft/cooking' system where you do everything possible to extend the time you get to PLAY and reduce the time you must NAP. The game revolves around naps and trying to lessen the time you nap. Meanwhile combat scales in a linear fashion, so the more party you have the longer combat takes without getting any more difficult. The ONLY reason to add more party members is to manage the nap time because each of your party can have only one skill to impact the nap timer, so you're doing more with your party to reduce your nap time than you are to advance your party and explore the world.

Why does your "Ovation" skill cost 2 VP? Mine only costs one. Is it because maybe they made some changes since your last video, or did I get lucky?

New update camp lute gives an additional 1 willpower to entire party. Dont need that second investment in willpower to get to 15 now Some gear and belts give willpower as well it seems but more mid to late game

I am lvl 5-6 currently with most of my squad. But all of our weapons are still Lvl 1. Where do i find higher level gear? Or how can i upgrade my current gear?

On mine i run the flurry of blows spear, n a helmet that causes attacks while engaged to add 1 stack of rage. The 4 hits from 1 flurry of blows adds 4 stacks of rage. I then have strength within that gives 10% damage per buff i have. So 1 flurry adds 60% damage increase

just want to mention even though its a bit late but you missed one negative trait, which i think only comes into play if you don't take strong and that was loafer (Carrying Capacity reduced by 3). Glutton seems to prob be the better choice over it though.

How do you get Nairolf's Cloak and Headwear?

Is it viable to get all of your movement from the quick starting trait; armor and armor layers and then putting all level ups into willpower (probably 3 level ups to 16) and the rest in critical hit / primary stat, depending on the build?

this was a very entertaining playthrough, you could have so many more subs. pretty sure the reason you don't is because over 90% of your playlists are weird stuff most people never heard of. if you had played a lot more popular games like this instead you'd probably have at least 10 times the number of subs by now.

you missed so much loot throughout the game, that's why you were constantly low on ammo. that yellow x on the wall was for the pipe bomb they gave you right next to it, to blow a hole in the wall for a bunch of ammo and goodies.

Sentinal is worth because on upgrade you literally doubled movement and you blitz down enemy unit
