Jim Boice thanks for watching 😊 my daughter has a lazy eye and her glasses correct it, she has only had them for a few months. I have been wearing glasses for about 2 years and I am short sighted. you are right though they aren’t a very strong prescription. X

Okay! She is young enough that the ECPs (eye care professionals) should be able to correct and she may not need to wear glasses as she gets older. Are they going to have have her patch her better eye to make her lazy eye work more? So you got your first glasses shortly after your daughter was born meaning your eyesight very well may have changed during your pregnancy. By the way in every case being pregnant will only cause shortsightedness. Usually you don't become shortsighted after your past your 19 th or 20 th birthday. Are you still wearing your first glasses or have you had an increase and needed new glasses?

Jim Boice They haven’t given us a patch yet but we are waiting for a hospital appointment for her so they might give us one then. I have had to have a new prescription since my first pair. 😊 I really like wearing glasses, I always wanted to have to wear them when I was a kid 🤓 x

It's really good that they found out that your daughter has a lazy eye now because since she is so young the odds of getting it fixed is really very good. it's much harder to fix a lazy eye on an older child so the odds are not as good. It's something you will need to watch as she gets older because a lazy eye does sometimes return. I was wondering if you maybe weren't one of those girls that always wanted to wear glasses but didn't need them. I saw a good number of girls that were like you and always wanted glasses. Some even tried to cheat on their eye exams to get glasses which never worked. So you were happy being told that you needed to wear glasses weren't you? Normally when you get your first glasses the prescription is rather weak and you only need to wear your glasses when needed for things like driving and watching TV going to a movie or concert. But it was your own choice to wear your glasses full time when you got them. Many people think that wearing your glasses full time makes your eyesight worse, but it doesn't. Your eyes do get slightly more dependent on your glasses if you wear them full time but it doesn't make them any worse. The only thing would suggest to yo is that if you're doing a lot of close work such as reading a book for an hour or more you should take your glasses off. Your glasses are for helping your eyes see distances, you don''t need them for seeing close up. If you continue wearing them for close up you will lose the ability to see close up without your glasses. That may or may not make any difference to you since you enjoy wearing your glasses. You said that you did get an increase since you got your first glasses. That's pretty normal as your eyes were getting settled in. But I don't think you're going to be getting too many increases as your eyes should soon be completely stable. I can see why you like wearing glasses, you look very nice wearing glasses. By the way have you ever considered ordering glasses on line? It's a really good way to get extra glasses as well as maybe a nice pair of prescription sunglasses.
