I was pondering the idea of doing a special with the Leafs where all I do is try and destroy the team and see how bad I can make them before I get fired. For those who just want to watch the world burn.

There’s still a lot of trades, but it doesn’t seem as blatant as before, Being able to offer Bedard 6.5 mil a year over 5 years and then him signing with the penguins for 12.5 over 2 years was pretty crazy

I really like it, there’s still some stuff I’d want them to focus on. Still want trade offers to come through and you can adjust your team needs, like buyer, seller, contender and rebuild. Even if it’s just for the trade deadline. Make the draft, free agency and trade deadline a bit more interactive, or have a pre draft questions you can ask.

For me it’s a personal preference, like if someone is legit hurt and put on IR I have no problem with it, but when something seems fishy, I have a problem with it. Take Matt Murray situation for example, he was cleared for the playoffs the year before and then misses the entire next season. Now he could have been IR, but the timing does make you think. I know most teams do it as well. I’m just waiting for the day where a player like mcdavid signs a league minimum contract and a company like Rogers decides to sign him to a multiple year sponsorship to compensate the difference.

Ya I was very surprised by his output. Barkey year 3 for me looks like he’s a solid 3rd liner. Surprised with how many points he can get for limited game time.

Usually I let the A.I. handle it. I like being heavier on backchecking and tempo. I'll change it by player or strength of the team. My shooters are typically more attacking and aggressive.

If you’re playing F1 manager this should be really easy to understand. You can alter difficulty in the settings if you want. It’s really up to you how easy you want it to be for yourself. I haven’t played NHL franchise in a while but from what I remember the only thing I liked about franchise mode was the sim engine which is better that FHM

First I have to disclose that I am a big Kyle Dubas hater, and I find him to be very overrated. Ryan Graves, Lars Eller and Noel Acciari contracts I don't find much value in. The Reilly Smith trade wasn't bad but it's a 5 Million dollar cap hit. Personally I don't think the Jake Guentzel trade for Bunting was a very good one. I like the Erik Karlsson trade, just unfortunate they didn't make the playoffs this season so it's a 14th overall picks. Brayden Yager looks like a solid prospect. But even that I was higher on Benson who went a pick earlier, Sandin Pellika, Gabriel Perrault and Andrew Cristall, who ended up going in the early second round. I think Dubas has a tough task ahead with a roster that's only getting older with a core that wants immediate answers and a deep cup run. I think he's in way over his head.

@@TheCilantroGuy the graves contract was bad and the Reilly smith deal doesn’t look good now, but absolutely no one could’ve predicted their downfalls and neutral fans can make that agreement. The accari signing was bad I’ll say that but you can’t say the same about the eller contract who’s done his job as a 3c. As far as the pick yager was a great selection and dubas did fine the rest of the draft. Including cristall’s name in the mix is kinda crazy considering no team out there was gonna draft him first half of the first round. The guentzel trade isn’t as bad as many ppl think tbh. He got 3 fine prospects who are doing well in the ncaa and professional leagues under the age of 22, along with acquiring bunting who helps the middle 6. Not to mention he had to fill in the shoes of Ron hextall who COMPLETELY ruined this franchise and sewered whoever was going to replace him. To say dubas is the best GM in the league is far from the truth, but to say he’s the worst is absolutely not true at all. He could’ve done a lot better yea but he was put in a disaster to begin with. There’s way worse out there like Kenny holland for example and the Columbus GM that got fired.

@@BrandonKang23 I agree with you that it’s not the easiest situation to be put into. But he chose to end up here. And like I said before I’ve just never been a fan of the of Dubas. For Cristall I would have traded back for. Not pick him at the same spot. The Eller’s contract was the price tag that I don’t find value in, I think there’s better players out there for less. I think this off-season is really important on the direction this team will go. And either he’s going to look like a genius and pull off some smart moves or he’s going to look in over his head. I’m very open to being proven wrong and I ultimately hope that I am.

I like FHM 10, I just played FHM 8 today to compare. They are pretty similar, 10 is cleaner and feels quicker. I like the quick trade options with 10. It’s more or less an updated version. I know they did improvements in the in game part, but I haven’t focused too much on that part of the game. It really comes down to your preference.

It’s funny how playoff hockey is a different game, matchups mean everything.

At the beginning I tried utilizing the new shop player function. That’s why I was trading like that. But way and see how it turns out.

It’s a complete tear down, starting from rock bottom and rebuild from there. I’d rather keep the core I want moving forward and bring in my own prospects. A lot of it is based on preference as well.

I was so surprised I was able to pull this off! Let’s see how well we manage in the playoffs.
