The 5 of you on a podcast has got to be at least an hourcani'd love to see it!
If HTS, ALLB, Stolas and you guys played a tour nowadays, that would feed families! Wild to think that tour happened with all those variables.
It’s crazy for sure!
It’s what I’ve done lol, I write them as poems first and then go and put a melody on top.
Now you know how Twitch streamer feel, talking n gaming at the same time, not so easy is it? XD Great video though, thanks for this.
Let’s goooo!! Red shells for days.
This was so fun to watch lol Dawson man, that was such a clever move (2:10).That's the kind of thing my older brothers did when I was young and that would make me really mad and angry at them lol
ITs a fun trick for sure!
"Don't don't don't think I've escaped. I'm just as guilty woaaaaaaahhhh" That's my favorite part.
I’m the first one here 😎
3rd comment. I got nothing better to do... you mention so many artists I know. talking prog music.... I would love to know your opinions on periphery. I obviously don't expect a response. I'm drunk cause mondays... Both of you are 2 of my favorite bands for different reasons so would love to know your opinion.
My guitarist is the Dawson of our relationship, in that he has shown me so many of my favorite bands. Not the least of which is YOU GUYS! I checked out that mk.gee video and really liked it. It reminded me of the sound of Dijon on their short film in terms of the dynamic emotional vibe. You might like it. I watched it a few times.... and I just realized mk.gee is the guitarist on that video lol.
I'm with Dawson on this. I'm also a singer and lyrics are way less important to me than how it sounds. I'm only paying attention to lyrics if I've already decided I like the song. Ironically, people tell me I'm a good lyricist. I do put in a lot effort since I feel like a song is a platform, but honestly, lyrics are the least important thing to me when listening to music. I've sung lyrics my guitarist wrote that I didn't even agree with because who cares. Even with rap. I just listen to the rhythmic patterns and the attitude. If I wanted smart words, I'd read a book.
nvm bruh im dumb as hell
where can i find this song
Need to see this entire video!
I really appreciate the approach on the drums. That explanation of drum sounds being a lot in person but when you "crush" them down can really bring out what's going on there. Edit: I thought that was a chicken in the background before it was mentioned 😂
These vocals … awesome!
Huge fan, sounds good
This sounds ai genorated
That’s incredibly disheartening considering we spent 2 years writing this record
@@TheOnGoingConcept the instrumentals sound amazing but the vocals sound almost identical to something from suno.
@@IkeTV. go check out the whole song and our whole discography. We have 4 vocalists in the band
@TheOnGoingConcept I listened to Prisoner Again on Spotify and I think it's a really good song, the cleans are amazing and the dirty vocals are awesome, I'm about 99% sure that yt compression ruined the audio on this short, and made me think that statement. 8.5/10 song after listening to it.
@@IkeTV.phew!😅 Good to hear! AI is ruining genuine artists these days. We put hundreds of hours into our craft. Thanks for taking the time to listen to the whole song!
YO I'd love to hear Andy and Parker! Whether its just them or all four of you, that would be a fun episode
Our newest episode of Dawson and Andy is up on our patreon!
Full play through please. cover girl 👌🖤
Full play though is currently up on our patreon🤘
Do y'all play in open tuning?
I’m confused
about what?
@@TheOnGoingConcept the music I’m hearing. Very odd
Check out "Cover Girl" by The Ongoing Concept
TJ, have you met Aaron Weiss? I think mewithoutYou and La Dispute are not on the same wavelength in terms of lyrics. Aaron us highly intentional and everything is full of meaning
Though you're definitely allowed to not like it. My wife hates it and they're in my top 3 😂
No, I haven't. I definitely respect what they do. I just don't connect with their sound. It has nothing to do with them as people at all!
@@TrailsVonMudder😂
Some how hearing you guys bring up Bilmuri and The Home Team made me so happy because I've also really gotten into them. Especially the recent releases.
YOOOOOOOOO
Yeah bro!
Love this!
This is amazing! Many thanks to all the people who took part in the recording. "Saloon" is one of my favorite albums. Greetings from Kyrgyzstan
Yuss!
Fantastic tone
Thanks! Just a classic 5150
Great album!that banjo breakdown.. dayum!
Now all we need is Handmade on record. Make a wooden box for it to match with the wooden photo album that I still have from you guys. That is my favorite album from you guys. I did order the Clear with Galaxy Black Smoke [Originality] version and love how it came out. Thanks for releasing the album again!
I remember in high school when this album came out, it genuinely changed who I was and who I was going to be. I remember being on Skype with my girlfriend at the time and she mentioned that one of our mutual friends had shared a music video on Facebook. She was watching it and she thought it was funny and the music was good, so she sent it to me. I remember as if it were yesterday, even though it was over a decade now. The first time I saw the music video for Cover Girl, something clicked for me. I had been listening to metal and metalcore, but something about the way the song sounded made me realize that there had to be more music like this out there. I watched more music videos and dove into the catalogue. I watched live performance videos and was blown away by the musicianship and showmanship. Genuinely, I had never seen a band play live music that way before. I remember my girlfriend was nice enough to buy some merch for me; two signed posters for Saloon, and a handful of stickers, that I still have to this day. Fast forward to 2016, and my friends and I were talking about getting a band together to play metalcore type of stuff, and I remember this being my first band I played guitar in and I wanted to really put my all into it. I remember we wanted to put on a show at every gig we played and make people remember us. I chatted with the singer for the band, who was a major driving creative force for the band as a whole,, and I remember showing them The Ongoing Concept, and they were just as blown away as I was back in 2013. We both agreed that we wanted to make music that was as good as Saloon and put on a live performance with the same energy y'all did. Fast forward to late 2017 and my band was lucky enough to play a show with y'all, albeit under a different lineup, but it was still just as inspiring to be able to share a stage with the band that made me want to play live music and have fun doing it. Meeting Dawson was like meeting my hero, and I'm forever thankful for the opportunity to share that stage. After all those years, I no longer play music live, but the way Saloon shaped my musical tastes and molded my future in the way that it did is undeniable. I will always love this album, and I just hope it's touched someone else the same way it has me. To TJ and the Scholz brothers; I love y'all and please never stop rocking.
...*wipes right eye*...
That shirt is epic, Dawson!
Noice
Slick
I was at that Chilliwack show. Your cousin Braden Tompke told me about you guys and I’ve been a fan ever since!
Whys slipknot the tagged band?
Whooops
Fucken kyle!! 😂🔥🔥
I guess I can now relate to my parents liking disco or something I think is cringe or "back inn the old days". I loved chaotic live shows. I've literally thrown you into my playlists with The Chariot, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Sawtooth Grin, Etc. In case you couldn't tell I miss these kinda screamo performances and still love them to death xD
The most underappreciated group of our generation. Consistently delivering bangers. Who else has studio sessions that murder the album versions? Thanks for all you guys have put out. Your music means more than you know.
that library of piano samples wasn't pianobook, was it? there are a lot of cool samples on there.
I don't think so
Awesome song 🔥🔥🔥
Thats a great idea!
Can we get a rig run down? Premiere guitar style?
I remember goin through some of those videos with my brothers back in those days. They gave off some balloonshop vibes and you guys are right, that humor was totally in.
Balloonshop was our favorite channel at the time! So good
@@TheOnGoingConcept ballonshop is the best haha
That one hurt. Still here.
Still a GOATED album
