Are you guys saying that to gain eternal life we must die first and go to heaven? That there is no paradise on earth? If so, what about "the meek shall inherit the earth?" Do you feel there will be an Armageddon and survivors that will never have to die? Are you saying that everything we were taught as JWs that pertains to God's kingdom is false? Even as a child I found the 1914 doctrine hard to swallow at first. The only reason I embraced it was because my father was a master at explaining it. He convinced me that it was correct based on the two ways to get to 1914. One of course was 607 BCE to 1914, and the other, I think it was 539 to 1914. Both sounded logical to me and seemed mathematically correct to support the 1914 claim. It wasn't until 607 fell apart in my mind that I could see a flaw in the calculation. In saying that, other scholarly ex-JWs, still hold fast to the 607 BCE date. They still believe it fits. Like everyone else, all I want is the truth. I don't want to live in fantasyland even if it's a bitter pill to swallow. Can you guys please spell out what you believe in when it comes to God's kingdom? In your opinions, do we have to die to live? Will there be no Armageddon survivors? Will there even be an Armageddon? Is our only hope heavenly? If your answer is yes, then what about all the scriptures that seem to support God's kingdom on earth? These are not meant to be trick questions. They are sincere questions. I find myself tormented by these thoughts. Thank you.

As an exJW(11years) I have to ask, What hope for the future do you two sad people have to offer? My reasons for no longer being a JW are personal, I see faults in EVERY religion! But have to say that even with some errors in their teachings, JWs are the closest thing to True Christianity, you will ever find! So why not go away and get yourselves a life!🤦‍♂️

So sad so tragic there r ppl in that religion that forfeited having children or shunned their existing children….. 💔💔💔idk what judgement is in store for Rutherford,but it will be just. He’s done tremendous damage to ppls lives and taught against the TRUE GOSPEL ‼️Christ crucified

"..... and then the End will come,...." Matt 24:14 That signal mile post was passed in 2020 when the whole world was shut down,.. "and the door was shut,..." The end of the preaching was a shock, not expected,.... "as a thief in the night" the end will come. Then there will be "... silence in heavan for about half hour,..." means no light but 3 days of darkness. Then, "the elements will become white hot, and dissolve like a great hissing sound, passes away,...". We are now in the later part after the "door was shut",.... it's now too late,... the antichrist is again attempting to gather it's cohorts and the War of Megiddo rages across the region. 🕊️👑♥️♾️

Thank you David and Vivian. Reading Rutherford's books helped me so much. After reading it I was sure that it is IMPOSSIBLE that this organisation ever had God's blessing. Rutherford was a lunatic - and a judge indeed. He judged you by telling you that you are not honest-hearted, sincere or reasonable if you did not believe his teachings.

After waking up from the WT teachings, I tried to reconcile what I see in Christianity and what I see in the NT. I see no continuity. Time and again individuals or groups see a systemic failure within the church (whichever one they're in) and they feel the need to cast it off in favor of a new and improved approach. Every time they seem to start with some sincerity and every time they end up looking like the thing they cast off. For example, JWs have almost completely replicated the structure of the Catholic Church. It's taken time and they have a different story of how they arrived there, but arrived they have. There is a tiny thread that holds me to scripture and it unravels a bit more each day. I simply cannot believe this chaotic mess is what Jesus intended. As the great shepherd, I expect more than what I observe in the state of Christianity today. I keep hoping that there is a simple basic thing that I have overlooked. A concept that would finally make it all make sense. So far, nothing for me. Either there is nothing or I haven't been invited to the adult table.

It's impossible to fathom how a person can think critically in every endeavor in live and for some reason turn into a bowl of worshipful jello at the mere mention of the Bible. They basically sre making the claim that the Bible is a MAGIC book.

The great tribulation is the sacrificial death of Christ.(Matt.24:15,21-read in context) Nothing in all of history compares to God’s word becoming flesh like ours and willingly giving up his life to save all of mankind. All true believers face tribulation in their lives as Christ followers, but they take courage because Christ conquered the world at the cross.(Joh.16:33)

I am a legal expert and ex JW. I showed some JWs official court documents and their reactions were: it’s falsified by apostates or AI. A lot of JWs who leave fall prey to conspiracy theories or cultish political ideologies. It’s insane what they do with people’s minds.

David,why would it be the result of reading two books that would help you decide whether or not the Bible was true? Would it not occur to you to ask God, through Jesus, by God’s Holy Spirit to understand the true meaning of things like the 70 weeks prophecy? Is God’s hand too short to help us?
