Kool Keith on His Alter Egos, Current State of Hip-Hop, Regrets, and More
Generally, modern American voiceovers are not so good from Goku to Vegeta. Nothing will ever replace the Japanese.
Frieza was modelled by a stereotype of a greedy Japanese banker. Ryūsei Nakao's voice perfectly emits what that role is supposed to be all about: arrogant, well-taught, snobbish, but also masculine and proud figure or daimyo, shogun, or priest. Western culture may have different tastes, but Nakao's voice fits the character perfectly. Also people like Mayuri Kurotsuchi who quite similar to Frieza: arrogant, sociopath.
Chris was my favorite Frieza but I'll never talk crap about Linda because she's OG *and* she was genkai!
Hello Monkeys! Dance for Me Monkeys! 💯
I'll always remember he as the village elder in FO2, especially on a Low Int run :)
Frieza is easily my favorite Dragon Ball Z villain. He was so smug and arrogant, which made him infinitely hateable. Also helps that I first got into DBZ with Ginyu Force and Frieza Sagas.
Freeza was my favorite villain in DBZ. I even dressed up as Freeza one year for Halloween; when my class did the Halloween parade around the school, one of the older kids pointed at me and said "See, I told you Freeza was a girl!" Linda really brought the character to life and knocked it out of the park!
In Mexico, freezer is dubbed by a man but using a heavily stereotypical gay intonation.
Bizarre 💎👊😁
She's the best
Linda is an absolute gem of a woman. Great interview!
The best Frieza VA, she actually switched up her voice for each transformation. Frieza at 100% final form voice was desperate and angry.
Man I miss you Mike! I hope all is well brother
He says he is not a communist because the word is scary (radical) but in the first episode he basically encouraged everyone to organize in a fair communist way. (Before the teams and the class division was imposed to make sure everything stays inside capitalism)
In my book he was a communist at heart, and probably every kid is actually. Capitalism is not spontaneous for kids
Salute 🫡
KOOL KEITH was the first calling out the butt love industry of mainstream rap. A lot of his 90's lyrics making madd sense.
facts!
Anyone wondering what this comment is talking about, listen to Slaves by Cenobites (one of kool Keith's 90s sideprojects)💀
Shoulda asked him if he still talks with Ugly
i never got all the hype for the og cast. they were never even close to Daniel and Johnny while the modern day students are above Daniel and Johnny from KK1 by quite alot so them being stronger than RObby Hawk Miguel etc
🔥🔥🔥
Randomly skipped around this vid before I watched it was got excited when I saw Dj Lucas he rules so hard
Shoutout Brandon T. Jackson. Dude a vet in the movie game. Dope interview my friend.
its too bad we never got a Kool Keith/MF Doom collab album.
Kool Keith in my top five. Like how did he invent so many styles before eveyone. Bold creativity, humor. And he was Dr. Doom before MF Doom
Her raspy voice will always be my favorite for kid Goku and kid/teen Gohan.
Considering what was revealed about Josh, we applaud Robert!
Should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Dope artist name, music and interview. Keep doing your thing with podcast 🔥🔥
Twon my brother, I greatly appreciate it! Looking forward to your growth as well my friend
This guy is so insecure about his career revolving around a 10 second scene in one Halloween movie, it's embarrassing. Why can't you just be humble, and thankful that you even have any fans?
Kool Keith is the last rapper from the 80s that still keeps his music fresh. A true rap legend.
He is great!
this is great, nice to see an interview with Kool Keith
Carte Blanche is my ish🔥🔥
0:55 Obligatory fat guy at a convention in the background 😂
I really liked Guylan in the show. Sure he might have been a bit too young to be a leader, but he seemed like a pretty smart kid with a good attitude. Definitely an A Tier for me.
Such a happy person. You can't have a conversation with her and not leave in a good mood.
5:48 Was that a fart?
She was playing fetch with her dog lol pretty sure that was the ball being thrown
This show created an itch that can never be scratched. It's such a fascinating show seeing how kids have to learn to get along without adult supervision, like Lord of the Flies. From seeing their political strife to how they resolve differences to watching them improve with work ethic to seeing a kid missing his girlfriend drown his sorrows in root beer. The only other shows that are remotely like this are Escape Frm Scorpion Island and two BBC documentaries where kids live in a house for a week or something and also have to cook their own food, and the boys completely wreck the house. There's also a documentary on kids going to Tourettes Camp and they start forming cliques and have conflict.
The secret of his longevity: 🎶 bLuE flOwErS 🎶
Robert seems like the kind of guy whose autism needed for him to have like 24/7 monitoring to make sure he doesn't do something outrageously foolish or criminal.
It's strange how they all used to have regional accents, and now they all have the same California-esque accent. It's a shame how people are forced to change to fit in.
lets gooo
why did they switch to colleen
Favourite mc much respect 🙏🏽 for KK
NICE !!
I disliked this guy. I’m sorry.
I'm happy I got his back story of how he became an affiliate finally
Dude is dope! 🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Legend
Man I can't wait to hear her in Daima again. Hope they get her to do Kid Goku in the games too. She's so cool. I love how she goes into the voices so smoothly in interviews. So many voice actors never do that unless asked. You can tell she's not embarrassed by her job. She gets it, and loves it. It must have really hurt someone like her being replaced for so long. People like Schemmel always looked at being Goku as work, he's said it himself. But she loves the character, he's a part of her and you can really tell.
