Your supposed to remove those little bottom ends before propagating from what I’ve learned. Supposed to stand the pointy side up. Rinse off the root’s really good, spray with hydrogen peroxide to kill any bacteria first. Do some reliable research to see if that white residue is in fact some form of fungus. I wouldn’t pull those little corms yet they are still way to small

Use alcohol to clean your shears. You are going to ruin your shears by burning it. Have you ever tried fluval stratum for your corms? They love the stuff.

So I have a question - when the newest leaf dies on an alocasia - when you chop it does that mean it won’t grow anymore because that’s where the next new leaf would’ve emerged

I used to go there! When I lived in Sunnyside Queens, despite there being a Home Depot right there in Flushing, I think… but we spent almost everyday in Manhattan anyway, and this HD location always surprised me with good finds. The other locations in the city were hit or miss for me!

That’s not a corm. Unfortunately that’s a root looking to put down new roots somewhere to grow another plant. It never usually happens unless in the wild. Idk if it will grow into a plant but it would be interesting to see.

I love that Benjamina ficus! The varigation is prettier in yellow-green and dark green than the white and green. The others are also beautiful and lush! Never seen that narrow leaved variety of zebrina alocasia. Neat finds!

That long leafed Lemon Lime Philodendron is so pretty. Gonna have to look for that one. I
