Carver 466 Running at 18 knots

These are shots of our 2003 Carver 466 running at about 18 knots. Wonderful machine. Shots were taken just outside of Milwaukee. If you are considering a 466 we can’t recommend it enough. Thanks Ken for the video!
Way to make sweet lemonade when you're given lemons!! I love your exploration while your boat was being fixed and making new local friends!! Such a great video!! ❤
The "All the girls on the loop are doing this. Honey" is killing me.
@@robertbennett6697 so very glad you appreciated the humor. Thanks for watching!
Rich and Paula, you guys did it again. Great mix of town tours and boat adventures. I absolutely dig the building and history segments. Thanks again for taking us along.
Our pleasure! Really glad you are following us along and enjoy our exploring. We’re never sure if anyone else will find this stuff interesting. Thanks Mike!
I just found you gyys and subscribed.... I'm looking forward to watching your adventures... also I think it's funny that while you're boat was out of the water you took a boat your.😂😂
Awesome! Thank you! Glad that you are joining us. Actually we drove the dinghy to get to the boat tour, so 100% boating all the time. 😂
Nice boat at 1:46!! When i first heard your thruster it did sound like it was hitting the housing, then the next time it sounded like the gears had stripped - exactly as you found. Did the weeds bend the shaft, which subsequently broke when you removed it? We're glad you got it fixed to continue your voyage.
Hi Martin. The gears were definitely stripped. Not sure how that lead to the prop hitting the boat or what exactly caused the issue. Hi to Lindy and hope all is great for you. We are currently in Cape May. 2 to 3 meter waves on the ocean yesterday. Love this place and continuing adventures.
The wife and I spend a lot of time in Clayton, NY. IMHO, It's one of the most beautiful places on our planet.
Totally agree! Thanks for watching!😊
Amazing video. Highlights and lowlights 😜
Glad you enjoyed!
Great highlight of an incredible feat of engineering. You (both) have earned your Captain title 😉
We would say one of the best videos yet!!! Great footage :)
Thanks MnM!
Great video!

Great video. I feel like of all the times for the bow thruster to fail, it was basically when you needed it the most! I know for a fact you don't use it very often because you are good on those throttles! But man, that is some narrow stuff yall went through! Nice work!
You got that right! Thanks!
You said it! Bad timing!
Can you imagine then lifting that huge piston up off the cup underneath it. Most of the time was spent sending the cup to the new manufacturer to make the new one. Then they did it again on the other side!
Two documentaries showed up on my UA-cam timeline. One was the replacement of the piston cups on both sides of the Peterbourgh lift lock and the other was a mechanical failure repair at Kirkfield. In both cases, they engineered for one side to work so they could still be used during boating season. Very interesting. The channel was concrete something, don't remember the name cause that was last week. :O). Sure you could search Kirkfield lift repair and find it if you were interested in that.
Very cool. Is there a fee to go through each lock ? Good thing you guys have adequate funds with your bow thruster & possible prop issues. I hope you don't incur any further expensive problems. As always, thanks for taking me/us along on your continuing adventure. 🙂
It cost $240 to go through the whole system, so really not too bad. We got the prop and thruster repaired after we got back into the USA. Expensive but hopefully we get a few months without breaking anything else
Fantastic job Captain 👍
Glad u r following us! Very curious to know what’s going on at Stellantis. Have a great week!
Loved it 👯
Ahh Georgian Bay navigating. Went through that cut at 12:54 a coupe years ago and met the Island Queen coming around the corner. (130' tour boat out of Parry Sound). Had to quickly duck into a little side bay to let her past. How she fits through all those twists and turns is beyond me! Great videos.
@@denniscolleen thanks so much for sharing your story with us. Glad u enjoyed the video.
Did the Trent in my 30 foot Chris Craft back in the 80's. The Chute and the Lift Lock were quite the thrills 👍
Wonderful!!! What a great capture of such a rich area.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for covering your journey so beautifully. I would never be able to personally experience traveling to these gorgeous areas as you two fortunate souls are. Thanks for allowing me to join you. I pray your adventures are totally joyous & trouble free. I look forward to your next episode. 🙂
Thanks Dennis! Much appreciated!

Holy cow, what a spectacular video!!!! Soooo surprising
Glad you liked it!
That's San Souci Island for Henry's - best Mackerel sandwiches anywhere. San souci is French for "no worries" and sailed there in the 1990's with the Trailer Sailors Association long before membership went online, when we had a real magazine of member's contributions, a directory of members (both printed and mailed) and each year a week or two cruise in Georgian Bay either Parry Sound area or North Channel - and it was everything of your adventure with as many as 20 buddy boats! Thanks for bringing it all back 🙂
@@derekhenshaweasyputter334 that’s so great! We had an awesome time in the 30,000 islands. Magical place! Thanks for your note!
looks refreshing.
Really cool Rich & Paula!
Glad you liked it!
Isn’t this how Louis and Clark did it?
Rich & Paula, this is the coolest YT vid yet. Didn't even know that "chute" contraption existed. My hands got sweaty just watching it. Great content and please keep them coming. Miss you guys but this helps us feel like we're on board.
@@mikewheeler1073thanks so much Mike! Really appreciate your comment and that you are enjoying it. We should have made a video of our big North Carolina trip. That was epic!
I sitting here with Sacagawea now, and she says “yes”, it’s exactly the same.
