i love eddie and shauni and how in this show they have HER teaching HIM how to do stuff, and they don't have eddie's character automatically knowing things just because he's the man - not only because shauni's such a strong female character, but because it makes sense that with eddie's background he probably didn't have positive adult role models in his life to teach him how to do these things. i like watching his growth learning as he moves into adulthood, and i like that shauni's a strong female character able to help teach him

What a great acting scene, probably Baywatch's best. Both points of view completely acceptable. What you have here are two very different ends of the spectrum. Shauni's dad detested Eddie and masked it with sarcasm ' well if that's what you intend out of life indeed why not.. fresh air, pretty girls the endless summer" lol,but in essence he just wanted what's best for his daughter. Every parent wants the best for his children but sometimes they forget that their children have a mind of their own as well. At some point they have to stop making decisions for their children, and let them choose their course or destiny in life. Second Eddie's response was spectacular and i don't think i could have responded better in that embarrassing situation. " Mr. Mclean if you don't think i'm.. it's obvious how you feel.. cos every time we're together you go out of your way.. how i'm not rich enough, smart enough, refined enough " haha. Punched the snob right in his proverbial face. This is so current even today. Powerful scene. Eddie is obviously the middle class here defending itself from the ruthlessness of the haughty.

At least the Mom seemed genuinely grateful to Eddie for saving her Daughters life even if Shauni's Dad didnt think he was good enough. The line i'm a Doctor seemed so irrelevant when a Lifeguard was in the right place at the right time good training for Eddie whose proven time and time again he is a true hero despite having a rough upbringing. Glad to see Shauni come to her senses and move out on her own and get a place with Eddie. Even when he tries to break up a gang fight on the beach just to get hit in back of his head still a true hero surrounded by Dedicated Family Members in the other Lifeguards
