lol waaaaay too much work, get a 12 point socket to fit over it, hammer it on then use a BREAKER BAR
Great video!
Best thing i have seen yet..so easy amd simple i think thats an idea as this has been so overlooked..proper idea mate. 👊
UR A MAD GENIUS LAD!
Thank you! This video was an answer to my prayers!
Aussie's do it better
Wow amazing whata trik thats some intellegent physics!
Hey you just saved my life for real
You shouldn't be showing this to bad guys!
Great plan fella👍maybe save your ankle and back by LIFTING the end of wrench with a jack and the put a pipe over other leg of it for leverage??😉😉
I appreciate this video. Im going to give this one a shot since gm wont sale me another key to replace the key i lost for the brand new car they sold me that didnt even come with Mc gard registration slip to order a new key either lol
Just needed a little rock n roll. Thanks brother
Thank you so very much!
Thank you again! Went back to autozone & returned the $50 worth of useless tools for this!
I'm a 5' tall woman. Ty ty ty!! got it with my car tire iron!
This probably wont work with nuts that are sunk deeper into a hole like most mags. This works only because the nut is completely exposed. Good trick none the less.
Man...that is one determined dude--job well done!...cheers.
This video saved me so much money and avoided that, you have to take it to the dealer bullshit, thanks man
BTW...you can do the same thing with a slightly larger socket/ratchet and extension ..use 1/2 in drive.
So much for locking wheel nuts...waste of money and a pain in the ass...
yep, just realized garage didn't give locking key back from MOT on sons car, puncture today, thought sh!t! Tried this and worked straight away. Thanks contikiricky
I would say I dont believe till I see it now I wont believe it till I try it and works lol crazy I'll try it at this point
How does your back feel lol mine would of broke
That was cool, proper old school wheel nut brace. Cheers mate.
Is that really a K- code?
spanking it with a 3/8 th drive
Nicely done mate! BTW, nice '66!
Very clever, to take pressure off the one nut. Well done! Luckily I replaced my mcguard lockers with regular nuts before the key could go missing, but I will keep this method in mind for other "stuck nut" situations.
Just expressed regular nuts in a few videos.. Get rid of those stupid locking lugs and put regular nuts on. What would happen if a loved one had the car, had a flat and just couldn't find the key ? If you have $ 1000 wheels you can probably afford to call the dealer. If you don't get regular lugs.. Most cars have some sort of fancy looking wheel now a days..
bullshit, I'm female and I'm never going to be able to do this myself.... Bullshit the key lock broke and bullshit the dealership can't get my wheel locks off either without breaking their master key.... ....
Locks only stop the amateurs!
Nice
Nice
genius work!
Damn all that... clickmy.site/u/8JNf/Landover
You didn't have a problem getting the other 2 off, the inside didn't get worn down? I figure the 4 way would be tougher, just checking. About to give it a whirl in the morning!
this worked amazing for me!! i tried this same method without tightening the other 2 bolts and had no luck, until i did this it worked beautifully
MaGard is a beautiful product made with good materials, but it's nice appearance is deceiving: I lost my key and needed to fix a tire that was losing air. At first I thought of welding a standard nut to the McGards, but stopped thinking that I could damage the wheel bearings with stray currents, so I went to a small brake shop nearby and they offered to remove them safely "at a Low cost and in No time"... they asked 10 dollars for the four of them to be removed. So I accepted and less than 5 (Yes FIVE) minutes later they removed the four McGard "Safety" lugs from all my wheels by using a slightly worn 12-point deep socket that they just mounted over the so called "Best lug nuts" with some careful blows of a small (two pound) hammer, and Voilá!: gone in less than a minute a wheel. This product is completely useless as a safety or "lock" nut, and can be a nuissance for the owner of the vehicle. Useless. If you wonder why did I say that they removed each in less than a minute, and then that it took them 5 minutes for the 4 wheels, it is because they used about 15 seconds to free each useless McGard from the 12-point socket. As I'm very careful with my car, I tighten my lugnuts to the specified 100 Lb Ft torque with a good torque wrench, so I'm sure the McGards were not undertorqued. The removed McGards look almost as good as new, but the 12-point slightly bellmouthed socket only left slight scars on them.McGards look very nice, but are useless for a Handy thieve or auto technician. Save your money.
Only problem is all my nuts are overtightened so won't be able to tighten those other two nuts anymore. But do like your thinking. Also my locking lug the outer casing spins round.? It's on a Fiat 500 X by the way.
This has got to be the most intelligent method I've seen on UA-cam - tightening the adjacent nuts and using leverage to get grip on the locking nut - Bloody genius, RIPPA!!! From a pom in the UK.
STAGE FOR CAMERAMAN IRS NUL
