That’s a filter up there inside the petcock
What and awesome tractor they were built solid
Maybe you already thought of this. Take that square head plug out and put a tube in there about two or three inches long and put a cap on it. Then just take the cap off to change the oil. No more mess.
Thanks for the video. I'm in the process of putting a 212 cc pro point engine from Princess Auto(Harbor freight predator equivalent) on my 1970's Toro 7/24. I haven't gotten to the belts yet so not sure if originals will fit but i'm trying to figure out a way to calculate what length belts to get if the originals don't fit... i hate to buy 5 belts trying to get the right one..
i have that in my fuel tank, and the generator keeps shutting off and running for 20 mins, or barely won’t even start. how can i fix it
, wow ! how long u leave it sitting ??😮
I always install NEODYMIUM MAGNETS on all of my oil Drain Plugs. It collects a lot of harmful metal engine wearing particles.
These tanks are design to fail. Notice how the tank is stamped around the fuel gauge., it is indented instead of being raised. The seal around the gas gauge will eventually dry, stiffen and not provide a good seal around the fuel gauge. These tank should NEVER have a recessed area that allows water to collect around a seal that will eventually leak.
Why wouldn't you change Transmission fluid Bands It so old I'm in the process I'm changing all the Gear old Would it be OK To change it looks like mud
Where can I get a new steering wheel and a gas tank.
Are they the same size belts?

You shouldn't cut the belt ,... remove it properly and keep it as a spare for when you may be in a pinch.
Bonus points if it has a warranty. Not too sure they'd warranty a cut belt

What are they A38s?
Excelente el cambio de aceite es vida para el motor son maravillosos esos tracto ritos los vengo siguiendo en UA-cam me encantan
What cleaning fluid was used
On your transmissions, fill them to about 1/2" - 3/4" below the fill hole. That is the proper oil level. The Dana differential is actually installed upside down in these tractors, so the differential cover fill hole is way too high. Only fill the differential to the level of the fill hole as if the cover was turned 180°. Excess oil in the transmissions and rear will bleed over to the final drive housings. You just end up with oil leaks at your seals. Whenever there is moisture in the oil, get it changed out as soon as possible. Bearing races and rollers will get deep pits in them and be ruined. I've pulled many apart and many had these pitting issues. GL4 and GL5 gear oil is not recommended, but most people use it. There are bronze bushings in the reverse idler gear and cluster gear in these transmissions. The high suffer content in the GL4 and GL5 gear oils can damage yellow metals. A mineral based gear oil is best. There is no brass or bronze in the differential or final drives, so you can use GL4 or GL5 in them. Filling the engine up with oil to the top of the fill pipe threads is correct for that Briggs. There are a million opinions on engine oil. I use SAE30 with added zinc (ZDDP). This was reduced in most modern engine oils due to the fact that catalytic converters were plugging up. HD diesel engine oils have added zinc and guys that run these old iron flatheads use that. I use Kawasaki 30 weight with added zinc and it's worked well for me for years. It slows valvetrain wear and lessens valvetrain noise. Thanks for posting the routine service. A simple check and service like this will keep the tractor in shape for years.
Very helpful. Have the same unit and need this repair.
thanks, this helped me fix my old snow thrower😃🤟🏼
What model of truck are you working on? Also, any follow-up videos on this brake job would be appreciated. Thank you.
Do you have a video on the back hydraulic system
Nice!
Thanks for posting this. I'm getting ready to install a new water pump on my 57'ish 420 crawler. I've never done one before so it helps to see what's in there.
Hey Kaplan, hope this year is going alright I bet its been tough. Miss these classes a lot!
I still would have changed the trans fluid, milky color most likely has some sort of condensation inside. Oil is cheap enough, also hand pump is a great investment on a gallon jug.
you are right, it will be getting that next year. It was only getting loaded onto a truck to go to a show this season, but next year I plan on using it and it will get done in early spring
