Oooh, you've got some nice deeper tones on your tinkle. Do you by chance remember your cap/resistor values?
I followed Andrew's build guide and mostly used the recommended cap/resistor combos. The values listed below are from top to bottom of each module, eg the left module, channel one, uses (3) 1n5 caps and (1) 180k resistor. Let me know if I need to further clarify. Left module: C1 1n5 C2 3n3 C3 10nf C4 22nf R1 180k R2 220k R3 200k R4 510k Right module: C1A 2n2 C1B 4n7 C1C 15n C1D 33n R1A 200k R1B 220k R1C 390k R1D 680k Good luck and hey, post a link to your video if you build a Tinkle.
“How to program ADSR”… is there a second video in which you show how to do that? Because you didn’t in this one.

Hi! Nice demo! I'm wondering what kind of knobs you used at the Fourier assuming that you used pots with knurled shafts. They look pretty nice.
Thanks. Yes, T18 knurled shafts. Got the knobs from Tayda. A-6351. www.taydaelectronics.com/black-control-knob-9-8x11mm-shaft-hole-6x18t.html
Nice demo! I built one and it works but didn't really understand how it all functioned. Smart to zero out and test each knob. Definitely a drone beast. Ha, I used the same knobs too.
Thanks@@kellymerrill5294 Took me a bit to realize 12:00 was zero. Super cool module and yeah, I like those knobs better than the little micro jobbies.
@@dcsynths8969 Hi! I'm just seeing this. Thanks for the link! Getting finally ready to build one myself now. I also realized that Tayda has only red/green 3mm bicolor LEDs. May I ask you where you got the red/blue ones? I looked around a bit but couldn't find any source so far
@@AndreRuschkowski I got them on eBay. Here: www.ebay.com/itm/321809788090 Make sure you get 2 lead or 2 pin, 5mm, and make sure they are NOT flashing.
He’s Doc. He’s Dan. He’s THE Dr. Dan Modular Man. This is sick!
Thanks for the demo. Definitely quite stressful you didn't take 15 seconds to ass a couple knurlies to hold it in for the demo haha
Haha same here
Great as always!

So awesome! Really sounds great!
Thanks for this video. Super helpful. Just the buzzy electric sound I was looking for in a waveshaper.
And you don’t need an amplifier?
You can use headphones. I'm using powered monitors for this video.
@@dcsynths8969 Can it be plugged to an guitar effects pedal?
@@maxwarfield6699 Probably. It has line out, but with RCA jacks. You would need an adapter to go from RCA to 1/4", or the headphone out with a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter might work.
Awesome!
Hey! How can i connect this to garageband to record
Audio interface. You can get a new one for around $100, used for less.

Cool man !
Hi. please tell a newbie. I'm trying to choose LPG and this will be my first module) is it similar to LxD ? Thank you
Hi! It's similar in that it is an LPG and two channels, but this is passive and the LxD is powered. I have both and like both, but for different use cases. John Schussler has an in-depth comparison video here: ua-cam.com/video/QW8OcPlh_bI/v-deo.html
name of the first song ?
I just got a esi2000 for free a few weeks ago. I haven’t gotten around to testing it BUT my question is, do these come with presets installed? Or do I need floppy disks to load sounds?
Cool! It’s been awhile but I think I had to use floppy disks. The one I had didn’t have any presets.
@@dcsynths8969 ok thanks 🙏🏼
I just got an empty one sort of for free too. Looking forward trying it out!@@dcsynths8969
Question for you: I know a lot of NLC modules tend to play YOU. I don't love that feeling. Do you get that sense with this module? Don't get me wrong, I love the wildness, too, but I like to be able to be in control and decide for myself when things will get out of hand.
Funny, I’ve built a bunch of NLC modules and never heard that comment. Probably true of some modules like Giant Bono, but while the DD can get pretty wild if you let it, I find it controllable. Precise, no, but I don’t think it was intended to be.
@@dcsynths8969 How about Delay No More. Is that one controllable?
@@ObKling Both that and DNM3 are maybe slightly more controllable than DD, but they aren't what you would consider clean or clinical delays. You can get great sounds from them, but you won't confuse any of them with, for example, a 4MS DLD or MakeNoise Mimeophone.
@@dcsynths8969 I have a Mimeophone but, for some reason, it disappoints me. I end up using it more as a light reverb at the end of the chain. I like it for that - it reminds me of the spacey reverbs on old electro-acoustic (and rock) recordings. I know Delay No More is dirty, but I'd like to know if, at short delay times and low feedback, you can get consistent, controllable effects from it. I know it can do crazy. I just want to know if these NLC delays can also be kept out of that grit. And do you feel that your knob dialing is having an effect. I know with some of the chaos modules, you turn a knob and you're not sure it's doing anything. I appreciate your replies here, since I'm considering a purchase (or two) and it's a little hard to find reliable information about these modules. The NLC demos, while interesting, often create more questions than they answer.
Not too shabby, I couldn’t have done any better than that. But that’s not saying too much !!!
I just watched and listened to Highlander. Queen did the sound tract(1986). I can't get enough of him. He is timeless-- immortal
Appreciate it ! If I plug in the machine and nothing turns on. Does it mean my battery is dead? After replacement, will I get my sounds back the way assigned to midi channels the way I left it over 10 years ago?
That was my experience. When I bought it nothing worked. Had to disassemble, desolder the battery and replace. Then it worked! Found replacement battery on eBay. Good luck and let me know if it works!
@@dcsynths8969 Ok thanks I will see what happens - I had a lot of tweaked sounds that I would like to retrieve.
@@dcsynths8969 It seems like I found a battery replacement, just have to get a soldering kit and find out how to use it.
@@waynegomillion4976 The Engineers Solder Sucker SS02 is more expensive than the cheap blue types but works much better. I used a blue one because that’s what I had at the time, so it can work. Practice on something that doesn’t matter first. I used boards from an old tv when I was learning. Also, take pictures and/or notes during disassembly to help putting it back together.
pretty cool where did you find it?

Thanks. Andrew and NLC have some amazing designs. Post a link if you build one.
@@dcsynths8969 in the product description on his site he mentions by default he has it built to go into the noisey side of things more easily but can be changed to tame it some. Are you running the original layout or did you opt to tame it?
@@joelkulesha8284 I went with the original "noise" design. It easily goes into PT2399 breakdown territory. Considered building a tamer version, but so many other modules in the queue! Post a link to your video if you end up building one. (Or buying one!)
