How to collect nettle seeds in late June
Thank you for this specific practical advice Excellent video !
How do you pronounce the farm name, chahl or kahl?
Helpful video, thank you. I have a small allotment which has bindweed (a small variety). Is there any point in starting an asparagus bed?
Can you pick them in August?
I love herbs you are doing well with your videos thanks for this information watching from Ghana
Thank you for the demonstration of Scythe usage. This video deserves more views because it gives in clear and concise information and generally very interesting. Is your neighbour your boss ?
I am trying to weed my asparagus bed right now (It's June, and the harvesting season is almost over), and this is by far the most helpful video I've seen. THANK YOU!
Thank you! I've been looking for ways to staking pea plants and its hard to find them. This helps!
Thanks! Was going to buy bamboo and string, but will stick with the sticks I can find everywhere! 😊
how many times I can cut Faba Bean plant as fodder and still can get seeds?
Very helpful video thank you 😊
I am in the USA can you recommend a brand of stinging nettle seeds that I can buy in the USA to feed my kidney dog ? Thank you so much
They are still on in September. Are they still good to be harvested? Cheers from Belgium
we bought a property with a lovely vine too and this helps, our vine will be ready for harvest in two weeks or so.
Great video. And you are beautiful.
The "weighted" ones are females The "sticky out" ones are male..
So both are still OK to hang and dry out for use?
So helpful, thank you!
Brilliant. Thank you. So much nicer than plastic netting etc etc. :)
What would you recommend for the 2nd year care of a patch started from seed.
Where i can buy seeds to planting ?
I have planted sweet peas for the first time. Why do you have to pick flowers of sweet peas?
He mentions it in the video. It will produce more flowers by doing this
Hello mine after transplantating them into big pot the grow good and when they reach about 1 meter they become weak day by day Any suggestions please ??
Hi Tom I’m hoping this message reaches you . I want to buy a few lemon verbena plants. And I was hoping you could tell me of your success or not with this plant . I see this video was planted 5 years ago . And it’s one of the only ok verbena videos I can find . Thank you 😊
Anna Williams: I got 4 nice rooted cuttings last spring from Sarah Raven. They have grown well over the summer and I am holding my breath to see if they survive the winter. I made some cuttings to keep indoors over the winter, just in case. Makes nice tea.
@@kennethnormanthompson2740 they defoliate at freezing, don't want the stems to get below 25. Learned the hard way, too! Overwinter in protection or indoors if you can.
@@happity Thanks for your advice - it is a bit late for me this winter, although I do have one plant on the windowsill.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 🎄🎶🎁 Thank you so much 💌
Tell me about your fence I see in the background.
How long does it take from sowing seeds to flowering?
I had grown some seeds of kolrabi and have got a long variety. How do i send a picture to uou.
The ‘straight out’ ones are male plants and do not contain seeds.
You were pointing to a female stem. They have both male and female on one plant.
Thank you so much this was very helpful
I loved this video! So informative and you explained everything so well. Excited to watch more!
Lovely! Thankyou
Thank you Tom, that's lovely.
Super, just what I needed. Thank You.
Thanks for sharing so useful and yes Nettles are amazing ! x
what a great idea, rather than using canes. I'm going to try this on mine.
Why dont you just put the seeds in the tray your pricking out into.
Pricking out allows for very uniform plants as you can sort through the seedlings and place the ones of the same height together, and even bury them slightly deeper for stability. Sometimes if you just plant straight into the tray, the plants will grow unevenly to different heights, stretch, and grow patchy. Also, with pricking out, you can tell how your plants roots are doing instead of just guessing if they are healthy.
My first crush is sweat peas❤
A brilliant video, thank you. I am a novice and am growing Butterhead lettuce on my decking in pots. They're coming on nicely but (excuse my ignorance) I don't know if I can (should) cut individual leaves off as and when I want them, or if it's better to cut the whole head off as you have done in the video. Thank you!
I thin mines out but now the leaves are weak and looks dead, will the get their strength back and continue growing?
When you put them outside for the winter, what's your coldest temperature they could get too? Thanks ~ I've never put them outside until hardening off time once spring has come.
Love love love your natural approach! Thank you for sharing :)
What happen if u eat them when they are purplelish?
I love that room
Thankyou for the video.
Good vid, but you need to sort your sound levels out ? 😎🇬🇧😎😍
Those flower taste really good. I use to like to eat them until i found out its poisonus
The 'sticking out' ones are different because they're actually nettle flowers, not seeds. Male/female plants. :)
whats the difference between austrian and the italian scythe ?
Hardness. Austrian scythe is softer, but lighter steel. Its cutting edge needs to be peened to get an edge that both thin and hardened. English/American scythe is harder steel. It is sharpened by grinding. All scythes are honed with the stone.
Always wanted to try the nettle seeds but never knew how to collect store etc now I do 👍😃 ::: I noticed your not getting stung, how come?
when they are dry the leaves do not sting (much)
I got it! The main thing when growing sweet peas is to wear a jumper of the same color as the flowers.
