Remote tuning my 2G DSM. Didn’t last long…..
Took my Big turbo talon onto the streets for some remote tuning via Kevin Jewer! 26psi on pump gas was fun, but we’re turning it up! 35psi on E85!
Unfortunately we ran into an issue and the car is no longer on the E85 map. Originally I thought it was the clutch, as stated in the video. But I’m now starting to believe that I was actually spinning, as the temperatures were dropping due to winter. And my summer tires were bald on the inside. I thought there was no way I’m spinning all 4, but with the amount of power we’re pushing and the condition of my tires while driving in 10 degree temperatures, I’m starting to believe it was. Bald summers + 600whp+ 10c temps= wheel spin.
Anyways, we’ll be back on e85 next summer! Lots more surprises to come!

Still troubleshooting the fuelling issue on the talon. Today we drop in one of the biggest in tank pumps we can, to see if that fixes our problem! We also change our wire gauge size to accommodate the current on the pump and do some more street tuning! More fuel upgrades next!

Custom intake box and Ram air headlight on my DSM
Переглядів 4436 місяців тому
This whole project started out as a fuse box relocation to clean up the engine bay but with that much open space, I decided an intake box would be perfect to keep my IAT’s down! This led me to the ram air headlight as I’ve always loved the idea and wanted to see if it actually worked! And then I noticed the big hole in the intake box and decided to route a duct from the bumper to the intake box...

@@outcastgsx1 thank you!🙏🏻
@ no thank you for your great videos. They are very informative and helpful. I am a tech since 2006 so I appreciate how you actually explain your steps and how you diagnose issues. I have learned a thing or two for sure that I can apply to my 99gsx going forward. Please keep the videos coming, they have inspired me to get off my ass and give my gsx the love it deserves. 👍🏽
Why do people choose to run F-faced RPF1s when the R-faced are RIGHT THERE!? Just go 9 wide, geeeeeeeez. (This is somewhat satire, but I really don't find the convex pokey look of the F-faced wheels to be great. Really wished they offered R-faced in at least an 8.5 wide and in 16" between 8 and 9 wide)
@@Drunken_Hamster i totally agree with you, I wish these were 9 or 9.5 wide but I got these wheels for $200 with new tires soo I’m not gonna complain. Don’t worry, new wheels next year. And they’re gonna be a lot wider!
@@klaytonpavlik Damn, how'd you get a set of RPF1s for so cheap? Marketplace deal? I'm kinda in the market, especially for a deal like that, but I need 17x9 +45s on a 5x114 bolt pattern.

I own a mint 1998 GSX and on meth at 30 lbs of boost I saw 457 HP on ECMlink ,
@@louiscongionti2394 ecmlink is a very rough calculator. It can be close sometimes. Other times not. When I made 430 on pump gas ecmlink said 408hp. Now it’s saying 580hp. So I’m guessing it’s around 600hp right now but it could be less. Still a blast though :)
@@louiscongionti2394 I usually go off my airflow (lbs/min) typically 60lbs is 600hp
One of my dream cars for sure! Getting alot harder to find clean ones and when you do they are asking for a kidney! 😂 it's crazy tho how much more boost it takes to make power on the 4g over a k24. 35-40lbs of boost in a k24 gets you way up there on the hp numbers
@@HooligansMx well a k24 has a better flowing head and also has a higher compression due to being naturally aspirated. But yeah the K series is probably the best 4 cylinder out there! I’d give the 4g a good second place!
@@HooligansMx and yes they’re very hard to find in good condition! Glad I bought this one when I did! I’ve had 5 and all my other ones weren’t nearly as nice or clean as this one!
I bought a 1G and saved it from a partout. I've spent almost every weekend for the past 2.5 years changing out parts, restoring stuff, re-wiring, removing and replacing bad connectors, deleting old aftermarket wiring, basic maintenance, a $4000 Jack's Transmission build, and learning ECMLink. It's almost unreal what I found on this car - and I'm still finding issues. It'll probably take another year to get it where I need it to be. If you want a DSM, be prepared to do some work and get your electrical skills up...
You don’t need to be turning off and on to mess with the boost via ecmlink, you only do this if you are messing with your direct access.
@@BoostedMonkey4g63 thanks! I’m still new to all the tuning aspect of things. Learning as I go, glad Kevin has done all the leg work and heavy lifting for me!
The WG noise is the way Ecmlink pulses it, it's a very low frequency. You can use the locks function at the bottom of the boost table to keep it locked 100% for longer to minimize it.
Gotcha! Thanks man! I’ve watched a lot of your videos! 😁 love the car!
How will you get fuel pressure wit just a gas can?
@@loganmallet3291 that’s the return line. The feed is still hooked up. All the return line does is send fuel back to the tank, the feed is what pulls the fuel from the tank.
Sorry I didn’t explain it very well in this short, as this is a clip from a longer video. You can watch the whole video, it’ll explain it better. It’s linked at the bottom of this short!
@@klaytonpavlik already watched it ectually, that's a weird issue to have I would of never guessed a fpr doing that
@ yeah I emailed aeromotive about it and they had no idea why that was happening. They said it’s the best fpr for my set up and should have worked. Definitely just faulty out of the box.
