polaris indy 440 piped
i piped my indy 440 twin pipes into stingers sounds good i did this my self with triple pipes anyone can do it its ez i paid 50 for every thing and you need to jet it thats it

Those used to be 750 or 800 storm triple pipes. Hope you have it jetted correctly or she'll melt
what size jets did you put in it and what were originals?
Well I did it on a 500 lc indy I took 2 tripples from an rxl and put them on it I up sized in jets from the original 280 to a 320
He didnt jet it I bet
This does not keep up with an f5. A f5 makes 105 HP stock an Indy 440 makes 66 HP stock. If you did everything right with the pipes and porting the max HP (which you didn't because those pipes are not designed for that engine) you are going to gain is 10 HP on this engine. I know this because my friend piped/ported/bigger carbs on his 440.
Otahu Rice.. lol why one earth would you have to do ALL of that just to get more power. So you're telling me i need to regear, buy a new carb, change my.. timing, and get it ported/polished JUST to accommodate a new pipe? haha no, no you dont. Throw a new pipe on, rejet it and your good to go.
I buy old sleds and blow them up for fun. Do whatever you want to your sled man cause haters are gonna hate anything they cant do. Some sled guy's don't even change their own plugs. 91 indy 500 stock can't kill, quick too 79 ET 340 favorite machine ever (my 4th one of these forced fan 340's) 79 has a stinger after the expansion chamber and rocks for a little shit box.

OK.. Everyone seems to bash anyone wanting to put pipes on A 2stroke. . First they will make more power! If done correctly. Jetting, Timing, port high/size, Exhaust Pulse wave, Carb size, Etc. Then you need gearing, clutching changes to go alone with the new power curve. This kid is doing what we all do. Learn from our mistakes.

your not makign anymore power and your NOT keeping up with F5s. F5s had over 100 hp and your 440 was barely making 60 when it had the RIGHT exhaust on there. dont lie! Ive got the XCR 440 special from 94 and THAT wouldnt even keep up with an f5 on the top end, and its the race sled! Keep on telling yourself and the millions on youtube that you can keep up with that f5, and that these pipes made more power on your sled. the people with any knowledge wil know better.

meangreenhatch is right, even if his hatch is probably a stupid ricer :) 2 stroke exhausts are specific to the engine, and it is how they are tuned. This is the stupidest exhaust mod I have yet to see! And I have seen a lot! Just because it fits and runs does NOT mean its a good idea. Your powerband just got FUCKED up because the expansion chamber in the exhaust is NOT tuned to that engine! FAIL!!
right on hes right try the 650 pipes i had a xcr 440 and ran them with a set of pro 5 indy 650 and it was louder and had more kick to it
nice sound man. We have a 89 trail(wifes), a 92 indy 440 (sons), and a 93 xlt 580 sks bored to a 634 (mine). Ride on!!
