They like blue because when they are in pens they get fed blue fish food
@@michaelfredericks5914 Never thought of that, I like it though! Very interesting take!
excellent video simplifies the float fishing setup . good job .
Dude love your store you're the only eggs I buy from!
Good luck !!
1:43 I already know that story😂😂😂😂
HEAT! Great video brother
Your explaining of these details on where to and how deep to fish for steelhead is appreciated. i didn’t know alot of your info, tips n tricks on steelhead fishing. Tight lines &Thanks Will!
Love the shop! You’re living your dream and it’s only gonna get better! Can you order custom rods as well?
@privateinvestigator-gg2dk nice work in giving us a tour! i really like what you did with remodeling the store. j2lyk, if you ever consider carrying anymore accessories, then nitecore®️ headlamps are good quality and lightweight rechargeable headlamps. thanks Will! cheers & tight lines:).
Couldnt imagine rigging all that up on the water with cold hands
@@dinobernardi170 It sucks when you have to do it in the water. Luckily, if you are running a heavy enough shot line, you rarely have to do the hard part on the water. Usually you only have to replace your leader when on the river! (If you snap off only your leader snaps)
Great job explaining your setup Will! Thanks for sharing about it & looking forward to the tour. Btw, congrats! what a nice p.b. Brownie (as Ben calls them… lol:) tight lines!
I love baitcaster for float fishing i barely pick up the pin anymore if you buy a good one you can even use in a 100 cfs flow
What is your store hours? I’m not to far from Hannibal! Have my first fishing trip to salmon river coming up next weekend
That bead looks huge 😮. Was that just to aid the demonstration or is that the actual size you use? What size is that?
No shipping to Ontario, Canada?
looks awfully long is this because your fishing deeper water? I would assume if i’m fishing something shallower just shorten everything up to fit what the depth i’m fishing?
Definitely not a king
Do you find the raven line to be real bad for line twists off the spool? Ive used the sufix siege and the yozuri hybrid and find they arent as twisty
@@Pun4200 Yes. I have noticed that as well. I have since switched to PLine CXX on my Centerpin Setups. More abrasion resistant and less twisty.
Forgot the 6 mm beads
@@Steelhead71691 How could I forget!?! 6mm beads are Great!!!
I've always preferred Shimano Ci4 Stradic, light and smooth. But this Okuma series is super light, almost even smoother and... and now it's 3 times cheaper!!! Bye Schimano, wish you good luck...
What are thos balsa floats before the sheffields
Do you sell the containers separately
@@kahuna13135 Yes we do! They will be added to the website soon. Thanks for asking.

Awesome video game on love the shop
Appreciate it!
Thanks Will. Loving the look of the store!! Great style!
Great job! You’ve got a very easy to listen to voice Will:). I use my raven reel case cover a lot. Btw, your egg sacks were a big hit up on the Manistee. Guys said the egg sacks were “the bomb” being put in the tube ready-to-go & tied so well. I gave them your biz name. Tight lines:)…
I have a hookout tool awesome a must in the boat or box
Awesome give Awesome
Awesome video 📹
Thanks for the info, keep the how to vids coming
Great job Will!
Killer salmon lure
I’ve order paracord bait holder from you multiple times and just got my new order today but my question is do you sell the containers separately as mine have worn out over use but I love the paracord . Thanks
Good class thanks Oregon 😊
I’ll be ordering some asap. I’m almost out;)… Thanks Willl!
Thanks for the tip. GJ! Last Friday, i was on a tributary of the Manistee I and wondering about that too on whether I was wasting time floating eggs past the same steelhead for 5-10 minutes. Salmon were present by the dozens spawning eggs everywhere with some steelhead behind them. Unfortunately, the steelhead didn’t bite my egg sack bait, so I went back to trying for kings. Cheers & tight lines.
Those are $5 at any store $13 is crazy
Average retail in this model is $15 per container. We have a very competitive price on these. Guarantee these aren’t $5 anywhere
You're thinking of a completely different product from the same company. They are actually priced accordingly
Great video helped me a lot with float fishing! One thing I need help with is how to float fish on the river!
Nice job in telling us your thoughts on the Lamiglas rod. I liked your last comment posed a question! Very clever:) And I really like the looks of your store. The wood floor looks great, the old barn siding-look on the one wall & then on the brick wall looks really great and clean. Sometimes the whole too new look with new carpet and primo drywall look is too… idnk.., like a dr office more than a sportsman’s store. This seems to be a good mix & pretty perfect. Cheers Will!
@@privateinvestigator-gg2dk Thanks!!! I’m glad you like my store design. Thanks for the compliments! Haha I totally get what your saying, some shops look like doctors or dentist offices lol. Also, Thanks for always commenting on my videos. I really appreciate it.
great vid, keep em rolling
Will do! Daily uploads for the month of October. Then high quality weekly uploads from November on.
Hi sir, I am a beginner. Can I ask you a question? Can you tell me how to choose the jighead weight?
@@yasinozkaran4417 Yes. The deeper the water the heavier the jig head you use. For example, If I am fishing water about 6 feet deep, I would use a 1/2oz jig head for my bass jigs. And if I was fishing water 10 feet deep, I would use sometime around 5/8 oz to 3/4 oz. Try out a variety of sizes and weights. You should be able to feel the bottom a second or two after each pop, each time you work the jig. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions!
@@firstlightfishingco Thanks for your answer, I don't have much experience. What are the disadvantages of not increasing the weight of the jighead in deep water, ?
Another great tip, nice channel and shop you got going on. I would guess you know a lot about fishing the Oswego?
@@RAMOSACER Yes. I know a lot about fishing the Oswego River. Stop into the shop sometime, if you haven’t already, I’d love to help you catch more Salmon & Steelhead! 5 Village Square Hannibal, NY 13074
@@firstlightfishingco I might be up on Friday, how is the river fishing!?
Nice job again. Thanks! I’m going to email you with an idea on tackle boxes to see what you think. Cheers! -Matt L.
@@privateinvestigator-gg2dk Sounds good! Thanks
Will this knot work for braid to fluorocarbin
@@dinob6153 It definitely can work for broad to fluoro. I would recommend using the “Blood” or “Uni” know for connecting braid to flurocarbon
Good day. Thanks for the video. Please tell me, should I put egg in bags on the hook or leave the hook empty?
For the life of me I can’t picture where that is on the SR? Unless it’s not the SR in Pulaski?
Have you found that sizes vary per company? A raven 2 is not the same as a Blood Run 2 and a Nova hook doesn’t fit the same specs of the others . So hard to when buying hooks 🤷🏼♂️
Showed up in my recommended and I know nothing about fishing, but I watched the whole thing lol. Thank you for teaching me, wishing you the best. 👍
@@ZheyaHawk Lol. That’s funny 😂. I’m glad you watched the vid. Thanks for your comment.
Do you tie the flies ? What size hooks do you use for salmon ? We use 10, 12 and 14 in Michigan for steelhead
Wow. I had no idea eggs could be attached by using the line and a loop! I was putting eggs on the hook all the time. Thanks and best wishes.
Great job again Will! Thanks for explaining the different flies and when to use them. If you have the time and want to explain how to hold a center pin rod and where your hands are positioned during each step, like when you’re carrying it, holding it, casting it and retrieving the line, then I could use those tips and I’d appreciate it. Lots of ppl show you how to cast center pins but don’t share the timing, where a person’s hands should be positioned and where the eyes are to be looking, etc; for ex. should they be looking at the target spot, watching the line, rod or what. I am pretty much a novice and learning by myself… there’s not very many ppl are float fishing using center pins. I think it’s a great technique but I haven’t gotten very effective in casting:(…… lol. Thanks again.
