I can't hear you, but if you're thinking about moving to Atlanta, Georgia, there better be a good reason. Atlanta, Georgia is a dump. It's not a good place to raise a family: The schools here are horrible, for elementary school children the teachers don't care. For high school, I always hear news reports about cheating scandals involving the teachers. Source: Can't find a source. Only thing I can say is that there is a lot of inexpensive property down here (Large homes that are not as expensive as up north.) Older people come down to retire and they are easy targets. I wish I can find more information than just news reports about occurrences. Again this is a gun friendly city, exercise your right to bear arms. The everyone is friendly myth: You are going to meet people who are very two faced. They will stab you in the back down here. During the 2009 recession, Atlanta was _beating_ the national average for unemployment. Lowering property value: Or is it rising? If you live south of the perimeter, the neighborhoods are usually not as healthy financially as north of the perimeter. My parents purchased a beautiful home in Stockbridge, Georgia near Clayton county (unfortunately). More and more people started moving into Stockbridge and bringing problems that is usually common to section 8 housing. My parents neighbors went from retired veterans to people who get their doors kicked in for drug raids. However more and more people are moving to Atlanta and it's surrounding cities so inexpensive housing is going to be a thing of the past down here. In 2009, I was able to get a descent apartment for $500/month. That's getting harder and harder to do. AIDS: The CDC (Center for Disease Control) has said Atlanta, Georgia's AIDS epidemic is rivaling 3rd world countries. And a lot of the people down here are carriers and won't disclose that they're infected. I have 2 school aged children so it was great to know the steps... I am moving from nyc in 2 months and I have been applying for hundreds of jobs but to no avail. Do you have any other suggestions???
