Sis! I wanna ask the requirements of this course in result of stpm must higher than 3.5 ke? Pls reply me I know it’s been a long time🥲
This requirement is stated in UM's website, but you can try your luck to mohon, as some of my friends pointer didnt exceed 3.5 for their stpm.
i got accepted in music course at ums and i love to play piano but still beginner. are they going to teach me how to play

Hi! Yes we have vocal majors in this course. As for instruments, I would say yes, you need to have certificate or at least know how to sight-read music sheets and play. But if you are gonna be taking vocal major as your choice, tak ada certification pun boleh, but bear in mind that all of the other courses such as Music theory, Conducting class and Aural class you might need to have at least Grade 5 in music theory to be able to pass the test and understand the lessons. I hope that helped!

is studying music theories hard?
for me, yes *sobs*. The syllabus of the music theory class starts from grade 5 to grade 8. (I only had grade 5 music theory cert atm) so it was a real struggle to not fail my theory class tbh. Im glad I managed tho!

Hi, for this course, I would suggest you to actually have at least Grade 6 in your major instruments as most of the students here have at least Grade 8 and above. We don't learn from the start and basic instead they polish your years of playing to be better for a recital performance setting. However, for your secondary instrument, yes we do learn from the start and the basics (depends on your current level). I hope that helps! <3

Hi, UM only offers for bachelors degree, master, PHD. So after SPM u have to further foundation/diploma/STPM/matrics first then only u can continue ur degree journey here :) i do recommend furthering in stpm/matrics as UM students are majority from these background. hi, I dont think you can check it as they will only send u an audition requirement letter after you applied UPU and are selected to come for audition/interview. But usually we'll have to play 2 different repertoires on your major instrument and a simple theory and aural test. Hope this helps!

Hi :) this is a degree course. After spm u have to take stpm/foundation/diploma/matric untuk sambung degree 😊
