    Hi, what was the issue with the front tyre of BMW? did you have the replace the tube?

    • @adv_moto_expeditions
      @adv_moto_expeditions Місяць тому

      The 2014 is tubeless but I ran the tire at 18 and smacked the rim on a rock and bent it about an inch backwards. We ended up beating it back in place and then filling it with slime. The fix would be to carry a 21 inch tube and have spoke wheels.

      @@adv_moto_expeditions Thanks for letting us know. Would you recommend higher air pressure on the rocky terrain? If yes, how much please. I am planning for BDR-X Texas and AZBDR as well

    Hi, I have BMW GSA 1200 like you and planning to hit SOCAL BDR next week, how much air pressure did you maintain for the dirt road (front and rear) and were there any falls? I am not an expert but a moderate rider.

    • @adv_moto_expeditions
      @adv_moto_expeditions Місяць тому

      What tires are you running? I would suggest keeping the front tire around 20-28 for the rear. I kept it about 25 or 28. If you have a good amount of sand experience then section 1 will be hard but fun. Also run a Motoz ADV rear if you can. You will need the deep grip.

      @@adv_moto_expeditions Thanks for your reply. I have continental tkc 80 in rear and michelin anakee in front (both knobby tires). The problem is when I lower the air pressure below 32, I get the notification on screen that's low even though I put it in enduro mode. I have BMW GSA 1200 2016. How about ideal air pressure when moving on gravel road or rocky sections like in Moab?

    Probably the best BDR video I have seen. Right to the point and none of the filler like the official BDR videos are. Not knocking them too hard, I just don't really care about the back story of every rider. Your video gave me exactly what I wanted, the ride and the adventure around the ride. I'm somewhat envious because it's way better than mine😂. I'm really considering the AZBDR next year. I really want to do COBDR but the UTV, Jeep, and people traffic out there is really a downer for me.

    • @adv_moto_expeditions
      @adv_moto_expeditions 3 місяці тому

      We did the first week of June. Temps in the south were almost 100. North was 80-90. I would run it again late May. As for spending I think it was about 450-500 per person. But solo might be more like 700. All depends if you camp or hotel. We camped first night on section one when you start hitting hills. Then the dead broke inn(next Door to the only visible hotel in town). Then we stayed in a hotel the last night I'm utah. For us pushing 200-300 miles a day on this route was easy.

    this was an awesome series bois! this provided a great insight on what to expect from the CA BDR and provides invaluable information that one can use to prepare for the ride ahead. It was cool that y'all had a good mix of bikes to demonstrate it doesn't really matter what size bike you have, and it boils down to skill and the rider.
