"Filming Lucybelle was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. To experience this at such a young age has been a blessing. Working on such a beautiful piece - not just learning it but filming it in nature - is something I will always be grateful for.
Nature is one of my passions in life, my escape. Time always seems to flow faster when I am closer to a river or lake, trees of all kinds and animals that adapt wherever they travel.
I can never wait to dance this piece, this storyline of such an innocent soul. The music of this dance never ceases to make me smile, never makes me frown. I am forever grateful that I found Lucybelle in myself, in nature and how she follows me like a shadow wherever I go.
When I think of Lucybelle, I see meadows. Places with flowers of all the colours you could imagine. Areas with tall grass where she could hide. I see birds flying, singing their songs full of beauty and promise that tomorrow will be even better than today. I see forests that I have visited countless days, streams of crystal blue. But mostly, I see her in myself. I see us connected from the roots. Roots that come from dancing, being a nature lover and more. The way we both love to go on adventures and explore. The way that we love to go somewhere alone and be our full selves even if it is an imaginary place.
I see Lucybelle in every flash of a Blue jay's wing, in every Sunflower that blooms, in anything and everything in nature that is described as “beautiful.”
