Triggrcon 2024 - Laugo (Alien), CZ, Q

Raw footage at Triggrcon 2024. Got to actually shoot the @laugoarmsusa Alien. It was super flat shooting and unique. Recoil came straight back with no flip. Also got to try out the @CZfirearmsOfficial handguns. The Nocturne and the CZ Shadow were both nice in their own respects. The Nocturne felt more like a duty-style pistol but was predictable. The CZ Shadow felt more like my B&T MK2 (Sphinx)...

Good Example of the Trailer Mission in Ready or Not
Переглядів 1339 місяців тому
This was a recorded run with a new person, who was figuring out our team dynamic. At this point, I had actually only been running with the senior guys from our particular discord (at the time) for about two weeks. I used basic CQB principles to work with their existing team. Our fundamentals overlapped and it was an easy fit to blend in. No SOPs or other BS to memorize. Just understand the prin...

Finding good teammates who use realistic tactics is hard to find. We have a varied background but we are able to adapt and blend well.

    how do the zero dials for the red dot work? the labels make absolutely no sense

    • @Quietnotcasual
      @Quietnotcasual 7 місяців тому

      I don't usually rely on the directions on the optics for that reason. I believe they may have some worm gears or something to where you have to adjust both to move them in a particular direction. I think I set the thermal zero (which is separate and digital) and got a good zero there. Once I did that, I could fiddle with the red dot dials to match my thermal zero. Alternatively, if you can laser bore sight that can be helpful. Or if you have a rock solid base... set your original optic on a point of reference, carefully remove the original optic, set the new optic on the rail, try to match the point of aim with the new optic. This will get you close as long as you don't move/disturb the gun. Having a vice helps a lot with this. It can save a bit of ammo by getting you started close.

      It was in addition to a Reddit post I made. It’s between a VIR2 and a surefire v1b. It will spill onto the foreground but it’s got greater throw than the Inforce and VIR. I don’t know if the stronger lasers they’re offering are better since it’ll be brighter foreground and brighter laser splash.

    • @Quietnotcasual
      @Quietnotcasual 10 місяців тому

      It has a wide range of brightness. You can definitely have it too bright (where it reflects off your face), so it's mostly user-dependent. I preferred to keep the brightness down because the thermal image would obscure the true view of what was in front of me. If the thermal image is too bright, you may as well have a dedicated thermal. Any optic can give you away if viewed by opposing NV (from the brightness reflecting off your face).

    Is there any way to mount this thing closer to the rail? It seems to sit way too high.

    • @Quietnotcasual
      @Quietnotcasual 11 місяців тому

      Not really. The reason why is because there is the recoil reducing portion of the mount in that block. It helps to take the shock of the recoil from messing up the thermal unit itself. It definitely doesn’t seem quite refined and was quite heavy. Holosun has their own offering but they have the same issues of limited PID and useful detection range due to the smaller thermal diameter.

    • @jonyroc1
      @jonyroc1 11 місяців тому

      The picatinny adapter itself doesn't house the recoil dampener. Thats a separate unit which goes into the little box like shape under the unit and is actually very slim. The dampener is installed into the pic rail mount which is kept high to clear any rail accessories. The only way to get the optic closer to the pic rail is thru a custom job. You can have the recoil dampener turned into a low-height mount itself. Though, even a regular flip up sight will obstruct its view.

    • @Quietnotcasual

      In actual use, the dot does not have any hindrance. Looking through the red dot it is clear. On my instagram I ran it during a Tac night and despite the weight/form factor, it ran like any other red dot. Since it did not have recording capability on board, I had to shove the camera right up to the lens. Some of the reflection from the internal wizardry may be more obvious due to this. The purple hue may be from the anti-reflective coatings, but there is definitely not a tinted glass like some other red dots. Thanks for the question!

    • @Noble_Titus

      @@alex-vw8jr it is a clear glass and behaves more closely to a holosun (red dot). The color you see is not apparent in normal usage. Most optics have an anti-reflective coating applied to the front of the lens. It’s to prevent glare and the loss of light being reflected off the surface. At certain angles, you can see this color. It’s used in eyeglasses as well. But looking through it normally, it looks clear. The Eotech uses a laser-based holographic sight so the technology is different. On a true holographic sight, your brain believes the reticle is at the same plane or distance as the target. For a red dot, your brain knows the red dot is in the optic and there can be a shift in your focus (back and forth).

      It occasionally will lag. I can't replicate it 100%, as in - try to overload the sensor with crazy changes. So I can't anticipate when it will happen exactly. It does, by default, start off in an auto-shutter mode. You can set it to manual, but I haven't messed around with it enough to figure out if it will "lag" less by switching to manual. The "click" sound lets you know there was a change.
