ABOUT DR. NUNEZ
Dr. Núñez is originally from Cartagena, Colombia where he attended the University of Cartagena and obtained his MD (Medical Doctor) after completing an internship in General Medicine. He has worked as a general physician. Dr. Nunez also worked as an Orthopedic resident at the Institute Mexicano del Seguro Social in Guadalajara, Mexico and completed a two year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery sponsored by the Academy of Ambulatory Foot & Ankle Surgery.

Minimally Invasive Flexible Hammertoe Surgery
Surgery is performed under Fluoroscopic imaging and using just local anesthetic instead of general anesthesia, making foot surgery possible for some patients who were previously considered to be too at risk for traditional surgery due to age or medical history.
There is less trauma to the tissue and surgical times are lessened with this technique, reducing pain and recovery time. Less suturing is necessary and often times no sutures are used. Postoperative patients ambulate immediately and are placed temporarily in a surgical shoe or boot to aid ambulation.

I read that you are awake during surgery but giving a numb for your foot. Is this true ?
I just had this done around 6 hours ago and they put me to sleep. I think when they cut into bone, it might be quite painful. My pain meds will probably wear off soon from the out patient surgery, and then the 'fun" begins for a few days. If you need it good luck!!

I'm sorry to say it, but this was singularly UNinformative. Please consider adding more substantive information, such as: What are the relative risks between lateral or medial open surgery versus laparoscopic surgery? What are the relative measures of success between the different approaches? What specialized training and experience is recommended when selecting a surgeon who may opt to use a minimally invasive approach? Are there multiple points of access used for different cases of Haglund's Syndrome/Deformity dependent on where the primary pain point resides?

Keep it slower for a few months ,and slow down the calcium supplements when done healing. Gradually increase your use . 2 week do nothing 2 week starting without crutches for mine . Pain comes back every blue moon, but not so much anymore. Totally acceptable compared!
What's the recovery time?
It depends on your system of course, but can take several weeks to even walk, it took me 9 weeks to be able to walk

Hello anyone watching ever had this procedure done? If so, what’s the recovery time and do your feet feel better now months later ?
I had my surgery almost 1 month and a half ago, the recovery has been longer and challenging for me but my incision was bigger then the one in the video, I still wearing the orthopedic booth until one week more, but when take it off still painful because the tenderness of the surgery, I hope your is a faster recovery then mine
