Very helpful videos! I'm on my second campaign. Looking forward to Calaminth, Freahild and Renerien build videos (havent found some basic builds for them yet) My party (3ppl) has asked me to put together or 3rd comp soon. 1st was vanilla: Legolas-Hunter, Gimli-Guardian, Bilbo-Burglar, Aragorn-Captain, Arwen-herbalist. 2nd was Gandalf-Meddler, Elena-Musician, Balin-Delver, Beorn-Guardian and Dis-Smith. I'm trying to put together a 3rd party using new characters and mostly new roles, as I did the second time. Your videos really helped putting the party together. Remaining characters are: Renerien, Calaminth, Freahild, Dwalin, Elanor, Boromir, Beravor.

If I recall this right we had a broken combo with Balin in the role of Delver equipped with the shortsword and the Harp. Delver has a card called Boasting: When you test Spirit or Might, you may suffer 1 facedown fear to convert all fate to success. (This fear cannot be prevented). Any attacks with the short sword is Spirit test. The harp at Lvl2 will remove that fear at the start of the turn. At the start of your turn, a hero in your space who has 0 inspiration gains 1 inspiration. If a hero in your space would gain an inspiration, they may discard a facedown fear instead. Even better combo if you can get the pony: Once per round, after you perform a Spirit test, a hero in your space may gain 1 inspiration or flip 1 fear facedown. If you are a Hobbit, that hero may do both. Perfect to pay for the bonus effects on the Short swords. And you can usually find the Boasting card in your discard pile by getting whacked in the head. Combined with Glory skillcard: After you suffer damage or fear, gain 1 inspiration and scout 1. You have a netto gain of inspiration even if you heal OR even if you add bonus to your short sword. AND you never need to spend inspiration for attacks as Boasting will both give you inspiration with glory but also convert all fate to successes. We found this Balin to be borderline broken as he will not fail any spirit or might checks and if he takes damage he just finds what he needs to be even more powerful. I used the damage to pick up cards without fate or success to tie them down and remove them from the deck.

For me the most solif combination is Eleanor as a Smith, Dualwielding swords. She is known in our group as the monster slayer. She can single handed take on bosses and drop them in one turn or two. He own ability makes it possible to reach 5 successes and with the sword combinations can reach both leathal and cleave in the same turn as 5+ damage.

Would love to see a wrap up video at the end of the series of some great 2 & 3 party combinations you might think work well with all your builds. Never seen any issues with 4-5 players as most things work well with so many options.

My favorite Gimli build I call Gimli's Axe. Item 1: I. Battle Axe II. Iron Hills Battle Axe III. Grief-Bearer IV. Sorrow-Sworn Armor: I. Plate Armor II. Iron Hills Plate III. Defender of the Citadel Skill Cards: Glory (Delver 12xp), Eye for Opportunity (Trickster 12xp), Overrun (Shieldmaiden 12xp), and Ancestry (Lorekeeper 7xp) After acquiring the list of cards, I would switch to Captain or Soldier to get extra attacks. Sorrow-Sworn is one of the most efficient weapons and can reach dizzying damage totals when you start adding Strike. Glory turns the downside of Striking with Sorrow-Sworn into a positive. Overrun adds additional attacks and along with Ancestry, adds successes to attack tests. All purchased cards have a success to help fuel Gimli's ability. He should be able to do without much inspiration. Defender of the Citadel adds to both of Gimli's attack stats at T4 which ensures maximum damage output. Eye for Opportunity not only has Strike, but critically also Rest, to help get rid of some of the damage accumulated with Sorrow-Sworn.
