This is the earliest, and perhaps only film of Jordan's Beach I have seen. I have photos from that period, earlier and later, and I first went there myself in 1962 when I was 3. I remember the changing room building by the dunes, which sometimes doubled as "rest room" and my father and I had to go there many evenings to clean. I believe the building is still there, repurposed in some way. The State of Maine shaped sign across the street says "Prouts Neck Country House Visitors (or Tourists)" I would not be surprised if it is still there, in the garage or shed. Last I recall the large sign was out in back of the house in poor condition in the 80's. Of course I must add, the proprietor of the beach, Gladys Jordan, my great Aunt. Who was responsible for making sure the beach stayed open to the public, as it has, just not necessarily in the manner she thought.

Where was the school at and how old was it? My dad used to go to "Country School" as a kid. He's 91 now!
