People actually use the clutch after they take off?? I was taught off the bat to float gears?!? Took all of a day to get down. Still mess up every blue moon not gonna lie.
Good video but why are you double clutching and you're empty unless you're hauling something heavy really really heavy at least 45,000 plus meaning multiple axles you shouldn't be double clutching but good video though you have to double clutch to pass the test so it makes sense to me
I might be wrong but splitter is the red or gray bottom on the left side of the stick for when it’s a 13 or 18 speed tranny, with it you split each gear, the front one is just a high and low. Might be wrong tho so don’t quote me on it
Yo, this is good. I just started a new job on Monday at a dump truck company, that also has big rigs. I know how to drive a stick shift, but never driven an 8 speed, nor a 10 speed. I have a Class A permit. So they’re training me on shifting part with the splitter. I figured that out pretty quick yesterday. So I’am starting in the dump truck, then they’ll put me in the big rig. Get use to that, then I’ll go take my behind the wheel test.
You are pre-selecting way too early. If you have to get back on the low side in a hurry for some reason, you’re in a bad position to come back out of gear and back in. Pre-select when you are ready to go
it's a training video and the trainer should start driving in low gears instead of starting the truck in 4th gear. The hardest thing to do when you are a new driver is to move the truck from 1st-to 4th.
Great video I am in training to drive a 10 speed still learning yet watching this video really helped me out a lot he goes into great detail i am going to keep watching it over and over until I get it right
Thank you so much tell your riding passenger to be quiet 🤫 just video you only not his fingers . When he talks it confuses everything . Just let you do the talking🙏🏻🙏🏻 you are great thank you so much May God Bless You
That’s good I just seen this comment I been car hauling for 2 years now crazy how I don’t know anything right here at this moment in life. Now It’s easy 😂lmaooo
I really appreciate you for this wonderful video I like the fact that you are driving and explaining every detail that’s the best part of video.. …
Thanks 🙏 a lot bud! 🙌✅
Your correct. What he was calling a “splitter” is actually called a “gear selector”.
Yoo Good Looking Bro, This Was Helpful Af !

This guy can't drive. He sounds like he learned how to drive in the army. Trucking don't run in his veins.

No

Great stuff. Mentions a lot of bits most don't talk about.

Plus he is calling the range selector a splitter. Totally clueless.
I don't go higher than 6th gear and or 15mph when making a turn.
I just saw u float!!!! Don't say push the clutch every gear!!!!!!!!!!
