My Buddy Conner took the Big line in Chair on the Salmon River. A few days later I watched another Cat go for a rodeo in the same spot.
Little Salmon River

The Fastest, non stop, action packed 28 mile day run river I have ever floated. Not a great place to swim. We did this after a double run on the Salmon. I am not positive but I think it was 3500 cfs.
Lake Creek Rapid

During guide training with S.R.E. on the Lower Salmon at 50k CSF. What a great crew of guides.
Low water Lochsa

Guides day off, let go rafting. Lochsa at low water. Technical like and east coast river, scenic like a Montana river. Class 4 at lower levels. 28 miles in 4 hrs.
Grand Canyon 2023 with named rapids.

From our January trip. water levels were 5k-9k. My first trip in 2018 water levels were 9k-16k. Low water made it a whole different experience. New rocks, new holes, different lines on most rapids. I believe you could hit the Crystal hole and cruise right through.

Grand Canyon 2023

Water levels from 5-9k the lowest I have floated, the rapids seemed sharper and more technical, raising the pucker factor. Had a close call in Hance, A big hit in the face in Sockdolager, Horn was getting hairy and came as close as I ever want to the Killer Fangs. Still had a blast. Saved the best footage for last. Watch TJ Cambron submarine his raft in Lava #grandcanyonnationalpark, #raftinggr...

This is the absolute best video I have seen yet. Shot in 4k by Joe French Elliot on our recent trip. Wait till you see what Lava looks like.
New River Gorge

Flaming Gorge and the Gates of Lodore high flow release 2022
Nice video! It's been a very long time since I've been down the lower Salmon.
Thanks again for this!
Do you know what cfs this was at?
Love it
What cfs was this?
Great video man. I ran it last year at 1200 but this level is cookin. Those waves get big at high water.
I'm going out there next month on the lower owyhee. Love the video man. Keep them coming.
Excellent video! Thanks! No BS just running the river! Love it!

High water for the Little. Musta been like May?
Late June, it only lasted a week.
I'm heading out to the rogue next week. These video's seem to be very helpful. Thanks for the upload!
I kayaked this entire river when I was 16,I'm 38 now! Boy..the first time you fall into these rapid's will traumatize you forever! Watching your video I remember it like yesterday lol
Rafting is just something you do to get to the next camp. Anyway, just an opinion from someone with over 15,000 river miles.
My favorite river to raft. I like it even more than the Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River.
Great lines! The scariest hole was threading the Horns. Super job!
Very smooth. Nice rowing.
Hello, I watched a lot of ypur videos...wanting to do our own trip in 2025. Any information you can provide for a newbie to rafting? Have several trips / hours in a canoe with class 3s /4s (eastern) so not new to the river. Wanting to rent a raft and self guide. Thanks for all your amazing videos. Love watching you row!
Its the same as learning to ride a bike, Youll get the feel for it in no time. You might eat a $#!t sandwich occasionally but youll get the hang of it.
nice rowing
perfect run, nice shot
TRUTH DAMMIT HE TOLD U NOT TO DO THAT
Go Beavers!
I was fortunate to drive down to Leslie Gulch and then kayak up & down river over a couple days in May of 2023. What I saw then is wonderfully multiplied by this video. Perhaps the most beautiful place in Oregon!
really appreciated the tour and the pains you took to keep turning the raft so we would have a full appreciation of the beauty of the river. I have roots back to Starvation Point but have never seen the river so thank you.
i still dont see the hole 🤣
Great video. Thanks for sharing
You call this humble pie? Perhaps you haven't seen all the effing Bedrock Rapid videos? You're like, awesome.
Nice runs!
These are clearly runs by an experienced guide with probably multiple Grand Canyon trips in their resume. I would also guess a guide with commercial experience somewhere. Why? No gloves, an awareness of where the oar is at all times (that is, taking shallow strokes in House Rock for example), knowing where the boat is in the rapid at all times, the entry to Hance, where he caught the Duck Pond like it was simple, because it is at these levels -- lots of reasons. The only very minor faults I saw was Dubendorff, where I would have been farther right, and Lava where I would have been farther left. But hey, minor quibbles. These runs were uniformly spot-on! Congratulations!
when is this river in ? spring run or later summer ? average flows ? i heard ya dont want to be on with less then 1000 cfs? Thanks for the info.
Spring is about the only time you can catch it running good enough to raft. Dont be surprised by huge crowds at the put in. A late fall trip in a tandem IK might be great.
Beautiful clean lines through all of the big stuff in the Lodore section. Rowing on Hell's was pretty as a picture.
Thanks.
I ON THIS RIVER MANY YEARS AGO FOR 3 DAYS TRIP. JUST LOVE SEEING IT AGAIN
Wish you captioned the rapids but great video nevertheless.
38:01 that DUDE has kayaked before. Love the way he leans into that hit. Only people who've kayaked do that! What a trip!
He was definitely in his comfort zone.
I love all your videos. I appreciate there is no music or narration. Just the river. Where are you based out of?
The semi great state of Oregon.
Dude, wear a helmet. Seriously
Thanks for this!
Great video, I am paddling it next Jan/Feb for the first time. Your lines and command of the raft are way better than some other videos I have seen. I can tell you know what you are doing. Would have loved to see the names of each rapid for my reference. Thanks for sharing!
We might see you down there then, I will be back on the river Jan 25th
@@Raftingwhenicam that is the same time we are putting in.
“You’re”
Nice!!!
Well done sir
Great trip. What was the rapid/hole that nearly had you at 10:51. The low water level makes everything look a bit different. You say to the river, "do I know you?"
I am pretty sure that was Sockdolager, and yes this year I did not know the river.
It looks like that's the bottom of Hance.
Very Nice!!! Muitoooo Showww!!!
Fantastic video! How about some timestamps or annotations? 🙂
Great footage! These are only showing in 1080p for me, though.
Good
Nice footage. Looks like you guys had a great time. Loved your solo at the end Jonah. Glad you guys made it home safe.
WOW! So cool and exciting white water rapids ride. The Grand Canyon is an amazing natural sculpture. Thank you for this incredible video. New friend here. Stay safe and connected.
Thanks for the ride.
