SMT -- Do Endorsements or Interviews Matter?
Переглядів 14 тис.14 годин тому

Segment two (for the audio show only) is an excerpt from my onstage interview at the Montreal Holocaust Museum in...

That and a lot more on this week's Good Talk with Chantal Hebert, and sitting in for the rest of the leadership race, the Economist's Canadian correspondent Rob Russo. I don't know whether in those dying moments of April 1912 they actually shuffled the deck chairs on the Titanic, but it sure looks like they are doing just that on the ship Trudeau as wave after wave batters the hull. Can a pre-Christmas cabinet shuffle save the government or is it just another delay to the inevitable? Bruce and Chantal are here with their analysis of where we are and what to e...

heard gentleman about cdn app store would love that option
Guy's once more in this topic..!
I’m a Toole man. I’ll admit it.
CBC is what it is to be Canadian. from weather, news, Alerts, tides ,ice etc etc fisheries. the marketed to generations don't know this.
Why does nobody hear any NDP nightmares like this...... simple never happens
I see the right wing extremists comments here have their temper tantrums. Let Pierre be himself
Oh what cowardice to turn the comment section completely off on your most recent videos Peter? What gives, are you talking to us are talking down at us? and that is the problem isn"t it, that is why CBC and talking heads on TV have tanked. I'll tell you sir why nobody is interested in your podcast (very low numbers) its because you think that anybody that dares to think of the phrase fuck trudeau is somewhat of lower class citizen. Well i don't carry a fuck trudeau flag but i think of that phrase every morning. I have a masters in science and work for the provincial government, so these are the types of people you're looking down to thinking we are low class citizens. How smugg of you to think that we are less deserving to be part of this so called democracy. I used to listen and like you Peter many years ago, but now you are just another liberal hack. Good luck with your extremely boring podcast. And omg Chantal is the smuggest of all , thinking she is more educated and better than most people. what a disgrace!! not real canadians sorry
So it's better not to get along with the US president ?
Kamalas policy choices are all on record. Good luck with that centrist campaign
Maybe it because 25 % of us are living in poverty and that's why PP has 20 point lead. All three of you need to get out more and break from your upper class elitist circles
The only reason JT is not getting calls for his resignation from Liberals is because of the Trudaue name. Without it, they will do even worse, and they know it.
April 5, 2024 - Pierre Poilievre can go south anytime - sooner rather than later - and join the cult leader down there. Canada is not broken. We're doing okay.
I had enough of your uninformed "Random Ranter." His obvious bias and low intelligence opinions are getting more and more ridiculous. I would hope that this platform could be used as more than a sounding board for Liberal shilling and Conservativephobia . But I digress. I enjoy the letters, but the station is changed when this lazy opinionator spouts off.
I cant believe all my life I Respected YOUR OPINION as a Fellow CDN? Turns out You couldn't give a Flying Fuck about mine... What a Pathetic Excuse for a CDN you turned out to be... Go ahead block me & the rest of the CDN Opinions you could be bothered with... Turn all the comments off etc... Pathetic... WOW...
how can any media payed for by tax dollars be openly biased. its amazing to me that you all seem to not understand.
I just learned yesterday during your CBC interview you had a podcast, all along?!? Why do I learn just now you were there during the pandemic xD ? gotta self promote more, this thing is Fire ^^
Ah hello. Money laundering that puts housing out of reach for working class Canadians. Banks, politicians, on the take. Canada being seen globally as the most accommodating place to launder your money. A leader who admires how a dictatorship operates and who consistently ignores the warnings from our intelligence communities about the threats to Canadian sovereignty posed by countries like China. Does that sound like a leader who has the best interest of Canadians in mind?
I won't watch this bs show, again.
Funny, PP numbers continue to rise. Explain that, please. Your liberal bias is so obvious.
Boy, I respected your show, but the discussion about Trudeau was very biased. I am sure you all are very supportive of the Liberals and not the conservatives and not objective.
Another boondgle
A liberal would have to be brain dead to not notice that the most obvious solution is to oust Trudeau. For years the conservatives have SPECIFICALLY targetted Trudeau, which was either crazy, or else makes you wonder if the whole thing isn't a sham and the two parties are just putting on a show. By making everything all about Trudeau, then simply getting rid of Trudeau would mean the liberals can simply say "well, you said Trudeau was the problem, and now he's gone, so what are you complaining about?" They would literally have nothing to campaign on, much like the people who try to say that comparing POllievre to Harpers government is 'just unfair and living in the past". Well, with Trudreau gone, same deal. In fact it looks VERY possible that this year or at latest next year, the federal deficit will be gone. Thats been the MAIN hoopla, supposedly the one time CERB spending 'caused' inflation, so if thats gone, well, we ALREADY have almost no inflation, but if people are going to start blaming the feds because prices aren't going DOWN, then thats just admitting insanity. When he said he was separating I thought for sure it was a sign he was stepping down. Who in their right mind wants to be the political focus while going through a separation? Thats just nuts. But I suspect liberal members simply do'nt know what to do, they aren't getting corporate orders to dump Trudeau, but I can see the writing on the wall and basically I follow politics (not the shit on social media) enough to know that his governmetn has actually done a pretty good job. Its the PROVINCES that are the real train wreck, our property tax is skyrocketing thanks to our provincial government, and we don't get a rebate for that!
Rona Ambrose would defeat JT now and then.
surprised, (maybe a little disappointed) that the comments are turned off on most of Peters podcasts?
3 twits.......................................
No & NO
Mark Carney is proof that the BOC was not and is not independent of the Liberal Party.
Please Guilbeault resign. Totally incompetent ideologue who is ignorant of basic math and has cost Canada billions in investments.
Used motor oil is insoluble, persistent, and can contain toxic chemicals and heavy metals. It's slow to degrade. It sticks to everything from beach sand to bird feathers. It's a major source of oil contamination of waterways and can result in pollution of drinking water sources. Burning oil can produce thick black plumes that disperse downwind as they rise into the atmosphere, potentially impacting air quality. Once the fires are out, oily residues in the water can cause environmental damage.
The Conservative Party (CPC) has always catered to "the Blue Collar Worker," but when it comes to pressing issues like housing and labour unions, they just shrug. They repeal or damn laws, underfund social programs and rehabilitation initiatives, ignore social issues that run counter to capital gains, and cut taxes, all of which result in little or no progress being made.
Biased much?

Yes we do want Poliverre for PM 100 %
Polievre is Maga and should never be in power ! We Ça adians do not deserve the "shoveling trouble " that the Republicans are doing in the U.S. A. !😢
Long gone are the days of Tommy Douglas and jack Layton. Today like it been since Pierre Trudeau are there real Men of privilege who put their soul on the line when running for the highest office of the country. I believe that it's the media who protect their own jobs by mixing the narrative of everything that is going on in the country The media is it's own culture separate from politics and the working class especially the CBC who plays the violin to the people while the people are heavily taxed to pay the CBC. Every time the news is translated from one language to another the story is lost. In order for the truth to be known throughout the country we need one national language that everyone understands. Every political leader when speaking speaks with forked tongue. The indigenous peoples of Canada must be involved in the language of speaking the truth. How many behind the door meeting will take place across the country where the other parties have no idea what is being said.
The Health Care crisis is contrived to funnel people into a compromised system.
Canada has been going down the drain since Pierre Eliot Trudeau himself pushed minority groups over the majority of citizens. Having Quebec being equal to the rest of Canada as two official languages and cultures when their was a third showed the middle finger to all of the country. Canada now is so divided that minority groups receive more respect then the majority. We now have racialized people across the country which means that these people imagine that they are hated by the majority and us that to fight for more benefits then others. Immigration from none western countries is also tearing the country apart to the point that there is a third nation or even a fourth nation moving in and that's the Asian and south Asian population when both are coming from countries of a billion people each. We already have towns that are full of these two cultures. The number of citizens of Canada is shrinking because of low birthrate but growing because of the people coming into the country with no end of supply in sight.
The political party system in Canada is a farce. There needs to be just two political parties across the country at all three levels of government. It seems more true than false that we have snake oil salesmen who run for public office. Especially in municipal elections, normally someone who runs Mayor is because the people push them to run. Someone who has been doing so much for the town. As Mayor they receive privilege for doing such a great job as Mayor of their own people. But for any other person who runs for public office i don't see anyone of privilege . Justin Trudeau himself got the job of PM , not because of privilege by what he has done for the betterment of others but because of his Dad a snake oil salesmen. To see a country accept a provincial political party , the bloc to run as a federal party when even the PPC had to run a candidate in all 338 ridings. And what's this thing about the two nations of Canada when the indigenous nations are not included. And what's this stupidity of having a Quebec PM one year then a Canadian PM. This game between the french and English have been screwing the people since this madness has started. There are too many snake oil salesmen creating too many political parties that it's the people of Canada who get shafted every election. Party affiliation in Canada is very important but local elections are the breeding ground for the worse of the worse yet not one person who runs for public office at the municipal level with no political affiliation shows that they can hid their views on politics on affiliation .
Rated second best country to live in on planet earth! Rated as freer by a goid chunk than the USA, UK, France ...Russia. So NO! No, the only thing that feels, looks or actually is broken is the Cinservatives and the fact we have this bizarre toxic far right ism based on disinformation. Yes Chantel...DISINFORMATION. I don't think the Conservatives gave a real policy on anything.
Oh, Pierre Poilievre, the master of spin! It's like he's doing a little dance straight out of the fringe group white supremacy Workbook. Such "originality"! Must he actually align with the crazy bat-shit Republican ideology too? Tereible day for Canadians to see this piece of work on a podium and not laughed off with a creampie to the face.
Great question! People have already covered the gamut of answers. I myself have disliked PP for a long time because he chose to be a career politician without bothering to get any prior experience anywhere: A leader should have some understanding of the lives of other people and PP does not have it. However, the unique thing I can perhaps add is an anecdote. My MIL used to work for a business down the hall from PP's office when he was just an MP. She wasn't fond of her own boss: He was brilliant with numbers and the business was very successful, but he lacked empathy and treated his employees with indifference. When I found out she worked down the hall from PP I asked her what she thought of him since she would have had at least passing personal experience with him and I wanted to check my prejudice. She told me that compared to PP her own boss was a saint. She told me stories about how she at times could here him berate his staff from down the hall. When she ran into him in passing he would wouldn't acknowledge her and she figured this was the case with people in general. Finally, she mentioned that any work interactions she actually saw between him and other people he would come across as superior and condescending. PP is an opportunist that preys on others and does not generally have his own opinions. You could see him parrot Harper when he was Prime Minister and you can see it now as he jumps on the populist bandwagon. He avoids people who challenge him or ask him questions, and when someone (like a journalist) presses the matter he answers with hostility. Lastly, any original ideas he espouses are almost all grifts of hypocritical: He was vocally supportive of crypto-currency before the crash and urged Canadians to get in on it. Afterwards he just stopped talking about it and ceased to acknowledge his endorsements that mislead Canadians who listened to him. He speaks out regarding the housing crisis in Canada decrying that housing takes up 2/3rds of an average Canadian's income. He proposes half-baked ideas to increase supply but seems to studiously avoid the ideas of rent control. He does not mention that he himself is a landlord and holds real estate investments.
Remember that JT has only won a majority once, and also won the popular vote once. He has won minority elections twice, and in both those elections (2019 and 2021), lost the popular vote to the Conservatives by a narrow margin. This conversation fails to recognize those realities that have been simmering for years now. But laying it on US dynamics of "stolen elections"???? Really?
You are all so full of shit. Talk about lies. Go check your facts. I suppose you also checked your bank accounts before spreading these left wing lies.
Liberal supporters can't stand the fact JT turned out to be an imbecile and will hold the title as the worse prime minister Canada has ever had!
In Canada: Are Arabs killing Jews. No. Are Jews killing Arabs. No. Is there anti semitism and islamophobia. Yes. Are people getting killed?. yes. And who's doing it? White supremacists, if you look at data. As for Israel/Palestine? We need to divest from arms trades with either party. And be very strong about non violence. And yes..ceasefires have been called for here and abroad.
You are suppose to say, “so called”….and it’s not a protest, it’s an “occupation”. The day the government started with the word game… CBC and CTV fell into line!
No one is listening to Trudeau any more. People are tuning him out, he is yesterday's man.
I think Bruce is afraid of losing his big salary if he doesn’t take Trudeau !
Nonono more bs from the propaganda arm of Trudeau liberal government. I’m only two sessions in on Peters platform. Donebye
Love the way he handles push back an PIerre is only for the common people! Chantelle is clearly extremely biased!
