NEVERMIND I STAY ON WINDOWS 10 WHEN I RUN WINDOWS 11 MY LAPTOP JUST EXPLODES
RIP 1660 Super 😭
Shi….. my ssd is bottlenecking mi system
But what is the difference??? You are just telling us things that make it sound like you know what you are talking about, but you arent telling us the differences.
I was thinking the same thing watching this. Really the only noticeable difference between Blue, Green, and Black is that the black has DRAM cache on most of the drives, as where blue and green drives doesn't. This helps prevent throttling when transferring large files over a long period of time. I don't know enough about purple and red to say the differences between them though.
@@drewwhite8568 Great question! Each WD drive has a specific purpose: WD Blue is for everyday storage, WD Green is eco-friendly for secondary storage, WD Black is high-performance for gaming and professional use, WD Red is made for NAS (Network Attached Storage), and WD Purple is designed for continuous recording in surveillance systems. Hope this clears things up! Let me know if you have any more questions!
I didn’t cover WD Gold because a very small percentage of people would use it unless they have a business / server. In case you’re wondering 💭 WD Gold drives are high-performance, reliable hard drives designed for heavy workloads and enterprise-level storage needs. I appreciate all of your comments and questions 📝
More like samsung cos wd sucks ye baby
@@TheRealMangoDev I have both but in different PCs, the 980 Pro, and WD Black 770, they both work very well
Miss gold 😢
You missed the part where half the wd reds are SMR and hot garbage for actual NAS applications.
@@joshrempel2076 I didn’t know that but I also want to respect the company, I personally don’t have a NAS but I’m aware of what it is, so I wouldn’t know
@@NicksTechHubsome WD Reds (not to be confused with Red Plus or Red Pro) have SMR, which is fine for archival purposes, but wreaks havoc on parity rebuilds on NAS systems.
@kylemsguy_ Thank you for explaining that 📝👍 I was going to include those two Reds as well but I don’t know my audience yet, so I just kept it short and general
All you did is repeat the marketing material. Blue, green, red, and purple drives are all the same, they just change the branding to take up more self space.
I broke it down for people that didn’t want to one.. look it up, and two.. they’re curious, and I needed a visual so people know what is what 🙂
What about WD-40???
Obviously that's for when you dont want your storage to get stuck
I have black and red, black for daily operations and red for long term storage of stuff I dont want to lose I just transferred my 150GBs of music off of a 25 year old portable HD and have started building my entertainment server using WD Red.
I'm barely learning about their half life and really want to make a secure server or use one of these cuz man was I blind to think memory just last forever lmao
Speaking of drives, i just bought a wd black and was wondering if i could take my old drive out of the m.2 slot and put it into the m.2 slot under the gpu, then putting the new drive into the main m.2 slot that had the old one in it, is that safe to do? i wanna keep the old drive but i want the new better drive in the main slot and i just wanna make sure i can take the old one out and put it into a different m.2 slot, and put the new one into the main.
wanna make sure it wont break anything
Is it just storage or does it have the os on it if just for storage it should be fine if it has the os on it then you need to clone it then swap and clear the old one. (I'm not a full-time computer tech it's just a part time thing I do to help friends and family)
Beware sometime your os drive is not the boot drive. Just be sure to keep the boot drive somewhere on the pc
so should i put the new one in the 2nd m.2 slot, copy everything, then swap them?
@@BigMonkeyKing101 I’d go the safe route like these two above have basically said, if it has your OS on it, I’d highly recommend moving that over to your second drive then you can format the old when done (after you make sure everything is good and working) and yes you can use both drives afterwards, it won’t hurt anything. Although if you have a SSD or HDD, (non-NVMe) it ‘could’ disable some of your SATA ports on your motherboard, I’d double check that too 📝
You left out WD Gold.
on purpose, I don't cover for enterprises / brands. My purpose of this short is to keep the basics in. Thank you for mentioning it though, I thought about it but the average viewer / subscriber will not ever buy a WD Gold.
@@NicksTechHubare you going to do a separate one for gold on its own?
Respectfully no, I’m only trying to help others with the basics, Gold is for a company, etc.
@@NicksTechHub Ah understand that make sense. TBH gold Drives are just slightly better versions of WD Reds with a longer MFG Warranty when you get down to it. The average consumer most likely wont be able to fully take advantage of the Drive in the long run.
@@SuperEdwardGarcia Exactly 👍 that’s one of the reasons I didn’t cover it but I still do appreciate you and others bringing it up
you can still buy that gpu tho
So even after support ends for win 10 , garuda linux is still better. Huh
I haven’t known anyone personally that uses Linux, how is it?
On the plus side it means Microsoft can't go screwing anything else up. I'd rather have no updates than the mess they made of windows 11
That’s true, I mean you can always use Windows 10, when the deadline comes up though.. when it comes to installing things I’d rather have something updated like security, etc. apparently so far Windows 11’s security is better than 10
gtx 1660s is still a great card if u find it used grab it
@@ind_gamer4139 it’s still decent for medium graphics and such but it’s no longer being produced sadly earlier this year
is my rx6600 still good?
@@ltdgamer7705 I believe so, as long as it’s not giving you any issues like overheating, black screens, etc. you should be good and long as you’re getting driver updates.
bruh, what does an AMD card released several years later than 1660 have to do with it? the 6000 series from amd and even 5000 will still be getting regular driver updates for many years to come.
surprised this doesnt have more views! great vieo man

You're late with the news lol gtx 16 series already been discontinued waaaay before making this video 😂 and wtf is 15 series anyway?
@@dr.bishop1126 I know I’m late but better late than never in some occasions, and 15 was an accident. Thanks for catching that 👍📝 I’m trying to educate the beginners of PC and work my way up, got a lot of work to do
wth is a gtx 15 series? there are no 15 series. no 1560. 1550 etc.
@@Jiyanwarhier apologies, somebody else in the comment section called them out as well. That was a typo. Thank you for pointing that out I appreciate it. 🙂
imagine rainbow 6 siege ran with over 100 fps on my old gtx670 when it came out and now not on an 1650😅
I still run a 1050ti
@@GCTandT dang you’re one of the first people I’ve seen with the 1050ti still, how does it run on higher settings and do you have any pros and cons with it?
@NicksTechHub pros- it runs better than a 970 and if you're a minecrafter its all you need, it's affordable. Cons- 4gb of Vram, any modern game requires minimum graphics settings (gets 60-80fps in bo6), display port seems to die more often than the hdmi and dvi, runs hot almost all the time Overall If i had the money I'd be upgrading to a rtx2060 or 2070 but im stuck with this 1050ti, don't recommend it for gaming unless again you're only playing minecraft
@@GCTandT if I were you, I would personally save up for the 3060 at the least, and hey, as long as it works.. I guess that’s all you need for now until you wanna go bigger and better. And that’s weird that your ports are dying, but then again consider the age of the card. Thanks for responding by the way I appreciate it.
RIP the GTX Series! What Series of GPU(s) do you have now? I have the 3060 currently
Rest in reeces pieces GTX
rip to my first ever GPU series
The RX 6700 XT Reference is known to run hot so the 80c wouldn’t apply here.
Most of these are signs your thermal paste needs replacement.
the issue is, I've had this with a previous gpu and another person's gpu I know of, we replaced the thermal paste and it was just cooked, etc.
@@NicksTechHub That can be the case, but Thermal Paste and cleaning would be the first step before replacement. Even undervolting might be an option in some cases.
@@printicewhite Very true for both occasions 👍
Artifacts means vram failure most of times.
Лучше остановить пальцем вентилятор по центру и почистить его, чтобы не повредить лопасти струей воздуха… Воздуходувка лучше баллончиков, хотя бы по цене!
Seeing artifacts is not ALWAYS a sign of GPU death. I have had artifacts and they were caused by a faulty HDMI cord.
@@Leader_Blaz I’ve never had one related to HDMI so I’m surprised, thanks for bringing that up 👍📝
@@Leader_Blaz I’ve never had one related to HDMI so I’m surprised, thanks for bringing that up 👍📝
@@NicksTechHubIf the HDMI cable is not plugged in properly or broken artifacts may appear, same goes for bad GPU drivers.
The heat one also definitely depends on the card, the 5700xt at least has normal operating temps of up to 95°, mine has regularly run that hot for the past 5 years with minimal issues. Heat has only been an issue for me once when I hit 106° while playing forza and my computer shutdown, I lowered the graphics after that and haven’t had that happen since hahaha
@@latincat4263 I’m wondering are you meaning 95C or F? I’m glad you got your issue(s) fixed that’s great! Your computer shutdown because it’s trying to prevent it from overheating and damaging your component(s) 🖥️
Have you dealt with these issues before? Hey everyone! Join our Discord community to learn and connect with others. Link in the About section of my channel
If your card is 85c but non of the other issues are present and your fans are spinning, your video card would be just fine after re-pasting the cooler
My rx 6600 xt is dying then because i see white artifacts while playing cod black ops 6
@@marcelbrummer5098 ya unfortunately it happens over time, is it consistent when you’re playing BO6? Do you know how much VRAM you’re using (graphics) on the game as well?
@NicksTechHub it only happens on bo6 and no where else.its on ultra or low doesnt matter.but gameplay is smooth and great.I dont monitor the vram usage though so meh.oh well if it dies ill deal with it,and save money to buy a new 1080p ultra ish card.
@@marcelbrummer5098 from what I researched, you could go to a 6700-6800 XT, it sounded like it was degrading at first, but if it’s only on BO6, it could be a driver issue, Best of luck though brother!
@@NicksTechHub hey thanks man appreciate it👌🏻
@@marcelbrummer5098 Not a problem at all, trying to help out as many people as I can and teach too. I do have a discord in my about section of the channel if you wanted to join, I'm trying to connect all sorts of people with PCs on there.. If not that's ok. I hope you pop around here and there, have a good rest of your day!
If you have artifacts your GPU is alrdy dead 85°C is a warning sign yes, but often still within spec
My 1660 super hits 86 degrees during stress test, is it normal ? its at 40 to 42 in normal web browsing and light gaming
@@AbhijeetKumar-cm3jh I mean to be fair if you’re Stress Testing it, and it’s not for too long then you should typically be ok I would assume. You don’t want any GPU no matter the brand or model to EVER hit 88+ that’s the serious danger zone
Dunno if it's you footage, but there's 2 screws to unscrew on the bottem of the AMD logo on the cooler, you can then rotate the logo upward
Yes it is my footage, and I know about the top method, I just prefer having it to the side 🙂
Have you seen these signs before? Note: I had a 1650 Super do all these artifacts that yall are seeing on the video
Yes I still use a HDD
@@Preston9119 oh same here, storing away videos, art projects etc. it’s just nice to have but when it comes to games.. not so much sometimes
yes, nvme drives are faster, but there are also compatibility issues with many of those running hdd's and sata ssds. you could mention pcie cards with nvme options, but these won't work in older laptops or some small motherboards
@@Jack36255 I’m going to do my research on this one, I appreciate you mentioning this! Some people don’t know about this so I’ll make a short or video on it this month for sure 👍 Thanks!
My WD Black 2TB has been on in my Laptop for an hour with with a room temp of 65F is runing at 86F no heat sink. when room temp is 80F it runs around 98F to 106F. Computer fan is full power because I red when first time installing an NVMe PCIe SSD Temp was the big killer.
I don't under why I get LOVES is that just an automatic thing?
@@HoundDogMech no I do that as me seeing your comment. Now to respond, 65F = 18C is good, 86F = 30C, those are both very good temps! 98F = 36C is also great! You don't want to see the Temps go above 70-80C (70°C is 158°F, and 80°C is 176°F) so I think you're good, I know they can be confusing sometimes too
A lot of drives dont have heat sinks. I was worried about mine since it doesnt have one, but is doing just fine after almost 2 years
@@yonderhornet on my other motherboard it doesn’t have a heat sync so in my other videos you light just see a “loose” NVMe just chillin 😆 it still does well though
heat seeker 😭
Indeed, a great game mode
So you're showing this as just a way to see that steam is updating a game, so you can open steam anyway and stop updating the game? Task manager is super helpful but this isnt a good example
@@Bob-tz1zp if you’d like to give me a better way in explaining I’ll take a note 📝 I’m just trying to help the absolute beginners to PCs
@@NicksTechHub Im just curious why you said to look in task manager. I expected you to show how to change the priority levels or somthing. Not just "stop updates" Number 1 thing in games is make sure your playing on the right servers for where you live. If your east coast playing on a west coast server your ping will be higher no matter what.
@@lukebukem4777 ya I probably should’ve mentioned that too, I’m trying to be like Absolute beginner friendly for these shorts. My plan is upload Beginner for now until i feel like I’m doing a decent job then get more intermediate, etc. So I do appreciate your comment as well! I’ll take all the constructive criticism as I can 📝
@@NicksTechHub I haven't been on PC in a while but steam should have a pretty easy to reach setting for a buffer to your update download speed to "change the priority" like Luke mentioned, prolly would make a nice intermediate follow up to this video when you're ready to show intermediate steps
@@Bob-tz1zp I’m gonna see what I can do, if there’s a better way I can show it I’ll try if not then I’ll let it go for now, thank you again 🙂📝
You can't plug the wrong cables into your GPU. Are you new? 😂
@@jonnyreverb so the funny thing is, I still laugh at this. My cousin put her CPU cables into the GPU and they actually went in it, I was on FaceTime with her and I said “wait that doesn’t look like the right cable what does that say?” Because she said it was having trouble going in. I was laughing so hard when I found out 😂😂 that’s why I put the picture of it in the video. I told her to hold it still (the phone) I got the thumbnail from it. Best mistake she’s made lol. She is new btw she just got a 1000W PSU, and it’s her first time putting cables in without me physically there to help.
