how did you find overdrive pedals? not crazy on the gain... i use a marshall GV 2 just over half way on the gain for a crunchy sound with a lot of bite.
i hear it can, just gotta set it right, like most things. but i dont own, nor have i played this amp.... been looking at getting one for a while though
Hey great review man. So you said it doesn't go well with distortion pedals? I am looking for a new amp and I was sold on this till you said that. I play grungy punk. Can it work?
Even the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, Grasshopper. Ignore what those who put you down say. No, it only takes very specific guitars. You have to fly to china, walk up a volcano jump in and you will survive! In the volcano you will meet a midget. He will take you to his master. He goes by the name Leo. He will make you a guitar for this amp.
I agree 100%. I have 2 Bogners...they are very nice, but VERY expensive to retube, and or repair. I have a little practice amp, The Frontman 25...works great...I've miked it out on the road...one trick pony, but does the trick for a hundred bucks and folks loved it.
I have a custom tube built Adam's Amplification tube head which is amazing sounding and I also have a Fender Frontman 212R. I use my Frontman a hell of a lot. It's all about being able to dial in the tone. Fender makes great amps... Period, solid state or tube. The Frontman 212R is one of the BEST solid state amps I have ever played through. I LOVE a good tube amp, but I have no prejudice against good solis state amps. Roland made, or still makes, a tremendously sweet solid state amp.
Okay, bonehead, I didn't say SS was better. Read the post and your other question is so moronic, I didn't want to dignify it with an answer but here are just a few who have or do use SS. Dimebag Darrel, James Hetfield, Albert King, Alex Lifeson, Zakk Wylde, Jerry Garcia, Robbie Krieger, Pat Metheny, George Lynch, George Benson, Allan Holdsworth, John McLaughlin, Andy Summers, Neil Young, Frank Marino, John Fogerty, Tom Scholz, Ronnie Montrose, Les Paul, I could go on but I'm out of space.
Mate, it's true. Seriously. I'm just starting to think you only own SS amps and are trying to defend them. Not one professional uses a SS amp. That's just a fact. Actually a few heavy metal artists use them because they can get so much gain without being too loud.
People criticizing this dude need to chill out. All the guy did was post a review on the internet to help YOU in your deciding factor when buying an amp. But every other comment is "LUL u suk" or "durr u luk 8 play sum metal". This isn't some guy on a partner channel who's going to talk good about an amp because SPOILER ALERT! (most of those guys are paid by companies to talk good about amps) this is just a dude, shooting this shit and talking about his amp.
My father bought me this amp when I first learning. I still have it. Rock on man! I hope your still playing!
The crunch channel sucks big time. but the clean is very nice and it holds well good quality drive pedals!
I'm an experienced gtr player and some distortion pedals do sound great on this amp! Well they weren't cheap ones!
Thanks brother keep it up, I think im gonna get one this week
I've had this amp for a very long time, and it didn't take long to realize that it has shit speakers. I'm gonna replace them with Celestion V30's.
They are budget speakers though, hence the low price of the amp.
za breaking the law daje lajka/ For breaking the law i give you like.
What r you doin', kid? Reviewing? Just kidding, IMHO. The youthful maximalism and shortage of attention...
If I use the amp with a distortion pedal,? Sound good? Is it a good amplifier for use with a distortion pedal?

did he say he was? its an amp review... where people listen to how the amp sounds over all and listen to his opinion, not how he plays...
Who the hell cares. I think he is pretty good.
Not the best now are you
I have an MXR Badass 78' pedal and it does not get along with the 212 whatsoever. Uncontrollable, annoying buzz.

Dusty has words of wisdom here for you. Think what our world would have been Had Edison and Marconi lost their dreams because of dumb criticisms!
The review is awesome, the playing's a bit naff but he's a beginner chill out, calm down Internet Guitar Nazi's !
Could n't agree more
Yeah, but it was pretty hot in there. Melted my shoes. Leo gave me another pair. Apparently it happens a lot.
here in brazil this thang costs 2000 bucks

Can you just tell me why you believe SS are better than tubes? Name me one professional musician go ahead.
awkward as fuck
That's just not true and anyone reading this, don't believe this moron.

Don't listen to this guy or the rest of the parrots out there.
Tube amps are better though :p hehe. SS can come close, but if you've never played a tube your missing out. You can't compare over YT.
Really cool guitar, i want one.
kinda, you should just get a distortion pedal for it then it will be fine.

Is it good for Punk/Metal?
