Just showed Darren the house right next to the water, he gets 'sea sick' being on land next to moving water, lol. Although we did used to kayak on the sea (briefly) and canal and that was ok. What an adventure back to the UK.
Hair looks great up. 50 60 look👌👌
Get you mr fashion guru. Thankyou x
One of the bestie videos. Beautiful places to live. Think that the place for me. Guys and dolls
You would love it mike
Much bigger than you think so much to see. Safe travels to UK
Thank you for showing us Germany, it looks like a very interesting place which we didn't know before.
FKK means Freikoerperkultur or in other words it is for nudists. Those concrete blocks are a Holocaust Memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe. Doner kebabs weren't invented in Berlin as they are a Turkish meal. The doner shop you showed was opened in 1973 and not in 1972 as you stated, it says so clearly on the sign above the shop. Berlin has a huge Turkish population and probably has the first doner shop in Germany. What was invented in Berlin was the Currywurst. Sorry folks, you should get your facts right before you post them on the internet.
A reminder of a horrific moment in time. Sorry you're feeling a little blue Caroline, hope it passes soon.
Thankyou for your concern. Back up and running again
Germany's very interesting. Is Caroline dressing up as Dora the Explorer
Haha ian thinks its the female noel Gallagher look

That road, wow, we had a similar experience when house hunting in Bulgaria on a logger road that was supposedly 14 mins long but took over an hour. Glad you and the van made it! Interesting about the Ironwork/Guild Tree. Enjoy the rest of your travels, it all looks lovely.
We have been watching your vlog. Good luck with the renovations

Isnt there smth you can do to stay permanently in bulgaria, what a shame ,when you bought a property ,i am sure there is a way ,consult with a lawyer or in the british embassy in sofia
You must know that this summer is the most dry since 100 years and in many places in bulgaria, even in the big citys they struggle for wated ,the reservoirs are empty and you can search for gold there😂😂😂we have the biggest gold deposites in all of europe estimated to be for arround a trillion dollars but not all of them are economicly good for working ,or the profits would be not sufficient, we are also no1 in mineral waters second only to iceland but the highest termal water spring is in bulgaria 18 meters high....i am glad to hear that you love the lord ,same here i am from the town of Vidin and we are protestant here all my family, since the fall of comunism we worship the lord freely, while before that we have brothers who had a lot of problems with the atheist comunism
Sungurlare is very famous arround Bulgaria with their very special rakia wich is also a litle expensive for our standarts but with high quality-sungurlarska rakia, also the national dresses here 4:50 the black ones in the right are to the karakachan people where the Bulgarian sheperd karakachan dog comes from ,they were semi nomadic shepherds and have their breed of horses, goats, sheeps and dogs wich are unique and with dark fur colour, black or brown, now there are arround 22 000 of them in Bulgaria also there are many in greece(wich is actually Bulgarian Aegean lands taken from us after ww1 because we fought on the sight of Germany,we talk for northern Greece east of tesaloniky to the border with Turkey plus the island of tassos wich is Bulgarian and still you have Bulgarian villages there, also all the mentioned lands speak bulgarian but not infront of the camera, because they were brutally murdered and terrorised if do so by the Greeks, same thing happen to bulgarians in Serbia and romania, they plundered our lands ,now Bulgaria should be arround 200 000 sq.km ,but is 110 000,all our neighbours are our enemies historically, cause before ottoman occupation and after it Bulgaria was the dominant military power on the Balkans even during the times when the latins were ruling the byzantene empire,so they unite against us all the time....
The city of yambol is part of the Bulgarian state since early 700s a.d when the byzantene emperor justinian the noseless(they cut his nose for betrayal) ask our ruler tervel(known in the west as tribelius) for help so he can take his power back and he gave him 5-6 thousand soldiers and he managed to restore his power and gave our country the so called zagora reageon part of wich is yambol, litle later tervel was called again when the arabs were besieging constantinopol and with his help the arabs were anihalated brutally and never came back ,the byzantenes gave tervel the title of caesar and he is the first and the last foreign ruler to recive one, also the Pope proclaimed him a saint and a saviour of Europe, tervel uncle alcek went to Italy when old great Bulgaria split into 5 parts and with his bulgars stopped the Arab invasion from Italy,so bulgars saved Europe numerous times, but there was no help for us when the Turks occupied our country for 5 centuries
Wonderful stuff! Love figs...picked fresh just marvellous. You could end up making your own wine you two lol. I hope you two do not encounter horrendous weather.... Sending warm hugs to you Cuz n Caroline xxx
Thanks wine making sounds like a very good call x
Aww poor Delilah wants to stay in Bulgaria. Jam with bacon and no ketchup? Hope you get the van sorted again, and enjoy the UK, but you're spot on about attitude. Lovely tortoise.
I live here in California, listening to you, tell somebody off is so sweet, you can tell me off all you want, I just love listening to that sweet accent!!!
I've been watching your video's for a while now. Enjoy all of them but this one just brought wonderful memories back for me. My husband and I were missionaries in South Africa in the 90's. One of our son's and his family started an Urban multi cultural church in Cape Town, South Africa two years ago. What I loved about this video was so many nations respresented to study the word. May God bless you and keep you safe in your travels. My husband is now in Heaven and I am retired and enjoy watching your video's.
Laura thankyou for your lovely comment. May God pour His blessings on you and your family for your faithfulness x
Lovely celebrations, we used to attend all the village festivities, and hope to enjoy again when we're settled in our new home. Thanks for sharing.
What a pleasant episode! I didn't want it to finish. Waiting forward to the next one! Following your journey!❤❤❤
Thankyou 😊
You are very right. The British need to get a life. Stop picking on other people. Well said. 🤔🤔🤔
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Xxxxx
How you doing we met a couple that had just got back from Bulgaria and had bought a boat x
We are great thanks. Hope you are Well
Love the coffee machines, haha that poor Ian had to drink coffee he doesn't drink. I always have hot chocolate, Darren has coffee. We've been on the train from Bourgas to Yambol, and Sofia to Yambol, definitely slow as they stopped at every single station, took 2 hours longer than the bus which is so much more comfy and clean, the only down side of the bus is you can't walk around. One journey started with a fire somewhere along the track on a roasting summer day. We all had to stay on the train in scorching heat for about an hour before the train could go again. The stations have been improved a lot, but not the trains! Yambol was our home town for 8 years, they tidied it up after we left and our last visit it was really looking beautiful.
Sorry you have to leave, but it will be lovely to catch up with people in the UK for sure.
Ian, didn't your Bulgarian teacher tell you to carry baby wipes? They can be used in the toilet as well. Hahaha ❤❤❤
Lesson learnt 😂
Hope you lookafter them apples trees better.😊
I am cherishing my pear trees you are not allowed near them mike😂
Oh, So many surprises from you. I thought you were 50. As I said, you are very rich with so many children and grandchildren. What about your youngest son, who we saw? Doesn't he want to join you in your travels, or he has to finish school first?
Thankyou for the complement I feel 50. Mckenzies life is complete in the UK. We love his visits
Quince - jam, if course. And compott /water+sugar+fruit = jar of compott to drink in winter.
Thankyou is it the same recipe 1kg sugar to 1kg fruit
@carolineandrews9806 they say so, but I usually put less sugar, sth like 800 gr of sugar per 1 kg of fruit. Compott: a few pieces of fruit in the jar, 5-6 spoons of sugar and water.
Love your artistic talent Caroline. Are you planning on putting Chris artwork in your house there? Xx
And you wanted to get in that water 😅😂😂
Nice to see Mckenzie again, been a long time since I last seen him. Can't wait see you both soon
Poor Delilah in the wheel barrow and lovely personal service from the vet (we have had a similar experience from our vets). Hope she completely heals up soon. Sorry you have to leave again soon, I wonder where you will be off to next. 🙂
Delilah is doing so well. No infection and wounds healing nicely. First stop Romanian when we leave

Lol at the 'hairdryer' heat as we call it. What a lovely neighbour, and so important that you make an effort with her. I use Mondly too, every single day, just stick at it, but I know what you mean. Probably the tip I would offer and should listen to myself, is don't worry too much about getting the grammar perfect. Darren initially used Talk Now, but doesn't commit to any learning now, but when we're in Bulgaria he is the one who will speak it, I clam up as I'm too busy trying to remember how to say things grammatically correct, whereas he doesn't worry about it and still manages to be understood, and also understands! Beautiful walk. When we go for a walk it's always spoiled by Darren taking pictures of nature but love seeing the pics after. Your videos make us want to be back in Bulgaria now, it's making it so hard to be here lol. Don't you like gravy?
We do like gravy I was just being lazy😂 I have found a brilliant ap now free and easy 5000 Bulgarian phrases.
@@carolineandrews9806 🤣 Ooh please share 🙂
@@NewBulgarianssorry it wont let me attach a pic. The ap is called Fun and easy 5000 Bulgarian phrased and is green with a little yellow bee. Good luck
@@carolineandrews9806 Thank you, I think Darren occasionally uses that one.
The karaoke made me chuckle. The little pool is just wonderful, and not busy either, you looked like the only ones there each time. Did anyone get bruised on the way down the waterfall? Lovely visit with your youngest - for us it is the hardest part of living away.
The violinist was so good, definitely a treat, and the church is lovely. Just wondering if you know about ticks in Bulgaria with Dilliah?
Yes the water situation can be an issue during summer as the village also wants it for watering the crops or due to burst pipes/maintenance. We had a well close to the house, so we had a pump fitted and pipework to the house which we could then turn a tap from the mains when it was off over to the well water so we still had running water in the house. We never drank the well water, or the mains water as it's so hard. We always used the 10 litre bottles with one of those pumps you have in your outside dunny for drinking. It's funny how happy/excited you get when the water comes back on, like the best thing ever, just shows how much we take water for granted in the UK.
Enjoying your channel. The sound quality is excellent! What mic do you use?
Only the phone mic, we bought a mic but we had troubles
@@andrewzi OMG, that's great! Sounds like pro sound.
@@andrewzi Amazed that you film with just a phone, it's so good. What editing software do you use?
It *does* look like England, without the pubs! I will say there's nothing better than an English pub - and I'm an American! Edit: The music you've chosen to accompany your video near the end is exquisite. Learning to communicate with the locals is not easy, I know! I've been traveling for two years, mostly in countries with the Serbian language. I know enough to get around, and even managed to be able to call for a taxi to come pick me up "at home," because I could finally say my street name and the number of the house - and they understood me! I can't tell you how liberating that is! Now I'm in Romania, and the words are easier for me to pronounce because the language is close to Italian. I used to speak Italian quite well, as I studied it for three years in college, then traveled there for a total of 4 months. I usually look up what I want to say in Google Translate, then listen to it and repeat it, then actually write it down on a little piece of paper and carry it with me in my purse, ha!!! Studying with a language teacher once a week is great! And the language app, too! I've heard that Bulgarian is very, very difficult, as is Hungarian, because there aren't *any* words that sound remotely like English. The only word that was easy for me to say in Hungarian was "Thank You," which sounds like "See ya!" 😂
So lovely to hear about your travels. I can almost see you fist bump the air when the taxi arrived. We must celebrate the little wins. I carry a notepad I call my little book of Bulgarian words the people are so patient as I look up and then mispronounce what I want to say.
We're very envious of you, happy for you too, enjoy while you can. Hope you sort your residencies soon though.
Thank you once again, are you able to stay ? Because if you can then we are the envious ones.
@@andrewzi yes we have permanent residency so we can stay as long as we like so that is a definite positive. However, we are stuck here in the UK until our house sells, but hoping it won't be too much longer.
We saw the Kukeri festival in Yambol every year when we lived there, it's an amazing experience. Love it. I don't know if you've had chance to see the Koledari festival at Christmas but that too is really lovely, held on Christmas day. Baba Marta is also fun. Watch out for the black storks too, they've considered bad luck I believe, not that we think so. Have you been to Shipka Church, the Freedom Monument at the Shipka pass, and Buzludja yet?
Oops with the petchka, you live and learn. I shave Darren's hair - grade 4-6, and have cut my own since 2006 (when we moved to Bulgaria and I couldn't bring myself to go to a hairdresser) Ian's haircut looks better. Oh wow the borehole with pump is really amazing. 🤣your camping stories made me chuckle. Delilah is delightful.
Your fuse box is so much better than ours, lol. We have 3 of those ceramic fuses for the whole house/barn. 🤪 Was the ticking on the meter just the clock? Those logs are blinking massive, did you order via the mayor as we believe every household can order an amount of wood via the kmet's office, we have yet to do this. Please watch you don't damage your backs with the wood processing, I (Nikki) have done real damage to my back over the years because of it. 😒 Haha Darren would have made me jump like that too!
OMG, I didn't know you had children. Because you have never ever mentioned anything before. And when I saw this beautiful boy, I got really happy. What a nice surprice.
Yes we have 4 boys and 6 grandchildren with another on the way
@carolineandrews9806 Congratulations! What a wonderful news for me. Yes, now I know you are rich! I'm so happy about that!
Was a lovely time x
Beautiful to spend time together x
