I flock to weird cars and love Japanese stuff
Having fun with a $800 Subaru legacy
Just smashing around in the old Subaru I found for cheap. Made a small lift kit from forester struts then fitted jeep wheels via adapters. Not even $1000 into this car, super reliable. Sold it a few weeks after this video.

1992 Toyota 4Runner walk around - mod list
Переглядів 2033 роки тому
this is an updated walk around since my last one in spring of 2020. I've done a few small mods to each part of the vehicle to increase off-road and on-road drivability. It has served me very well for nearly 2 years now, and I hope for many years to come. in addition to all that is mentioned in the video, I also have led off-road lights and a Spartan locker in the rear differential.
2018 Honda Grom blacked out Rear-sets and Muffler(Kajimotor exhaust - Amazon)

I hated how the aluminum looked on the bike since it's lemon ice yellow (green imo). I will paint the calipers once it's warm out since I don't want to remove from the bike. Painted rear-sets and muffler with VHT wrinkle black paint, then baked in oven at 250° for a few minutes. left to set up paint and then re-installed.

We tried several times on just the batteries, but it needed a jump start. now it's going to run all day hauling other audi's. we are in wisconsin in February and the temps finally dropped enough for a good cold start! this is my Friend Austin's truck
1993 Subaru Loyale walk-around

Just posting up for anyone who wants to have a quick look at what a Subaru Loyale can become. Small homemade lift from a forum I found, beater cars just make the best fun machines. Elite wagon content 😂
Exploring the forest roads near Shotgun Eddy's rapids Wisconsin

Taking a 1992 Toyota 4runner, 1988 Jeep Grand wagoneer and a 2000 Chevy Silverado up north to the Indian reservation public forest roads. We find many downed trees that block our paths, thus turning around a lot. The mud near the end seemed like it could be deep, but more water than dirt and a hard bottom meant safe and fun travels.

I removed the secondary catalytic converter and took my 93 Loyale for a test run. 2nd gear synchros are shot so it grind a little even with double clutching. Brakes and oil leak are next, and then I'll do a video on lifting one of these using ford tempo and 1988 Honda Accord springs

2nd gen 4runner rear seat belt assembly removal
Переглядів 1,9 тис.4 роки тому
This is how to remove a seatbelt from a 1990-1995 Toyota 4runner. The rear driver's side is where I'm working, but should be mirrored for passenger side. 14mm socket and ratchet, Phillips screwdriver, and interior trim removal tools are all you need. Let me know if you want me to make more videos like this 😁
I buy TWO square body trucks and then DRIVE one home!
Переглядів 654 роки тому
I bought a pair of GM trucks, the older 1977 Chevy k5 blazer is lifted 4" or so, and the other is a 1986 GMC Jimmy named Big Chungus. Both "ran when parked", so we put that to the test! Follow along as I repair and drive one of these machines home!
1992 Toyota 4runner lift spacers and Muffler install

Today, I headed over to my dad's shop and put my $50 eBay lift spacers and fleet farm muffler. Now it's level and quiet. Still having issues making longer videos on my phone(sluggish frame rates) so I guess I need to fix my PC! Have a great day and stay safe!

You should do like a fishing trip adventure with this Subaru! Also what headlights are you using? LED? Just subscribed
I sold the car years ago. I don't really fish haha, I'm just a car guy and maybe a biker too
@@j_mars_cars oh ok
I have one of these I wanna sell
What is the info on it? Where are you located?
I have a broken timing belt. Is that expensive?
Not expensive, but it does need a little bit of experience to know how to replace it
This was very helpful. I bought a 94 4Runner and it was completely torn apart
Hey! Glad this helped. I was thinking “surely someone else covered this”
Update? I got the exact same ones with a warranty curious on the outcome
I ran them for a long time but then went to pro-comp 4” lift springs cut down to 3”. So it’s all coil and no spacers. The flexibility is much improved. 4” lift shocks(nitro or hydro is fine)
Nice one i love that place
Interesting to see the American version of this car. My family had a '91 carby model and the dash did not have a tachometer, We just had speed, the open door diagram, coolant temp, and fuel gauge, that's it. Wish we had a tacho, kinda just had to know the car so as not to flog it too hard considering it had no rev limiter.
I owned a VW Fox 2 door myself, has a huge clock instead of a tach. It reminded you of how slow you were 😂
guys will see this and say "hell yeah"
This is one of the best comments on my videos 🥹
whats the buikd?
Haha! You getting stuck at the end was awesome 😂. What year legacy is that?
1997. Found it for $700, tossed lift and adapters and jeep wheels and sent it! Sold for a small profit to someone needing reliable transportation
Double clutching is only useful when downshifting.
Sounds like someone’s never driven a manual with a bad synchro or that wasn’t optioned with synchros lol. I guarantee if you shifted that old Subaru without double clutching, you WILL grind the gears. It was a really bad transmission lol. I’ve owned 61 cars and more than half are manual.
@@j_mars_cars its all about rev matching. Ever driven a flatbed that automatically rev matches so you dont have to use the clutch? Ive had 14 or 15 of these old subarus and even had to drive one with a broken clutch cable. Once I figured out how to match the revs, I could get it into gear smoother than I ever could before. When the clutch is disengaged, everything in the trans is still spinning so it's possible to find that "perfect window" where it slips right into gear with no fuss. Maybe the point of double clutching on upshift is to reengage the gears with the diff to get everything spinning again? I just never bothered, I found it was better to let the shifter find that window of opportunity and not rush it.
@@jordanricker4948 I can float gears with the rest of them, but this trans is too small and light to do that. It simply was very abused and worn, you HAD to double clutch it. The big trucks rev slowly a 1.8 L Subaru is so tiny it revs up and down to quick to rev match to a non synchronized trans
@@jordanricker4948 anyways, sold it years ago with a spare trans to a guy 4 hours away. He got it fixed up and used for a while
The red with the white looks awesome. Sticker is an awesome touch too. I'm looking forward to getting a ride to take off road someday!
Go have fun! You don’t even need a Toyota to go wheeling. Just take whatever you own, as long as it’s not super low, and get exploring. Just take your time, or disregard resale value and you’ll get further than you think
What tune did you go with
Motoza. Clearly says so in the description
What seat is that. I definitely wanna change mine an that one looks perfect
No idea haha. Sold the bike 6 months ago
Where's your radiator fan?
It has an electric fan on a toggle. Didn’t come with a mechanical fan. Sold this unit a while back, check @loliferexy on IG to follow it
Hello. It's Borla 140100? Are you satisfied with the sound of this exhaust system? Will it be a better choice than Magnaflow 16601?
Got the same one coming in, it’s the gp one I believe tho
What a waste of a video. No one wants to hear the idle
まるで、カスタムしたSUVのようです。
Sick! What kind of wheels/tire size are you running? And is it the same bolt pattern?
Converted 4x140 to 6x139.7/5.5” and using 15x7 alloy wheels
after about a year since this video how do you like their tunes im trying to figure out what company to go for when I get my a4 tuned
Is it just the catback with stock downpipe?
It was eBay catless DP and magnaflow exhaust
What snorkel did you use? Planning to install one on my 98 outback
Sorry for super late reply, I used an FJ80 land cruiser snorkel I believe
the smile at the end :D
How did you mount that roof rack? I have the same one and am having a lot of trouble if you have. Any tips I would appreciate it !
I used Chevy Express van roof rack bars, clamp to gutter. You have to cut them narrower but it's easy
Why is it wet did you just wash it?
Yep. Went mudding and finally cleaned it
@@j_mars_cars nice
Nice
hey.... is it sold?
No! Ended up keeping it when the DMV in my state gave me the finger and said I don't get to have a title for it. But it's fully mine. Wack
@@j_mars_cars hmmm, would you consider selling it now?
@@scooterevolution44 very unlikely. I should do an update walk-around with all the mods/damage I've done(very little damage tbh). I'd want something like $15,000 since the truck will likely appreciate a lot more in coming years.
@@j_mars_cars okay no prob, at 15k I will pass
Hey so I’m needing wheels for my loyale. What wheels do I need?
Most flat mounting face 6x6.5 wheels and drill 2 additional holes
Bro show more of this exhaust i was looking at buying one
I might make another video, but honestly I'm probably going to sell this bike soon. I broke my finger this week and I won't be able to ride the rest of the season
man, I just bought the same but I didn't use it yet because I'm doing some repairs on it. tell me one thing this model works all the time in the four-wheel drive? or do you have the 4wd on-demand pressing the bottom on the gear lever? so this model didn't come with a hi-low range? thanks, man¡¡ very useful video!
Can’t wait to install my borla. I won’t have the crackle and pops tho
Where's part 2, etc??
Sorry, got too busy and gave up recording.
I'm on the same boat as you exodus. Info on those spacers please 🙏
😎👍👍👍
i have a 89 sedan and i never thought to paint the throttle body
Previous owner did that. And now I've sold it to my buddy Loliferexy on Instagram
1990 Loyale here... i would love to meet the person that can find an oil pump for my little friend... replacing starter now..good times
Damn thats sick af
I have exact same exhaust it’s really quiet but glad to see it actually shooting flames getting motoza stage 1+ this summer
Totally worth it. I'd fork out for the MTC works package. Launch Control, ANTILAG (real flames, not just overrun), and 4 tune files(economy/91/93/e85).
@@j_mars_cars because I want MTC I am currently doing 6 speed swap from tiptronic lol already have transmission and everything just waiting for time
Cool little fun bike buddy Cheers
Where did you get this?
Motoza tuning website
Sounds like it’s new battery time
How are the struts and springs working out? Do the front wheels stick farther out?
The seemed to be a little more in the front. But I sold the car so no idea
Wow. I uploaded in 1080p and it decided to upload in 360p. I may try again with better quality, but I'm out of time now. Sorry guys
Excellent fix, glad that lawn mower belt worked out! 😄
Yeah man! It was my last hope 😂
No idea what was up with the slow/choppy footage at first, but I'll try to catch it in the future. Enjoy the rest of the video!
