Deutschlands Palästina-Problem (Germany's Palestine Problem)
Wie kann man in einem Land, dessen Behörden dafür bekannt sind, Antizionismus mit Antisemitismus zu verwechseln, über Palästina sprechen oder die Politik der israelischen Regierung kritisieren?
Deutschlands antisemitische Vergangenheit hat die palästinensische Selbstbestimmung zu einem Tabuthema gemacht und pro-palästinensischen Stimmen schwere Anschuldigungen eingebracht, die ihr Leben verändert haben. Ist Deutschland für ein Land, das behauptet, aus dem dunklen Kapitel des Nationalsozialismus und des staatlichen Rassismus gelernt zu haben, entschlossen, heute nicht so sehr als antisemitisch wahrgenommen zu werden, dass es Israel und den Zionismus um jeden Preis verteidigt? Und damit eine historische Schuld auf die Palästinenser zu übertragen?
Um die Gründe für die pro-israelische und anti-palästinensische Politik Deutschlands zu verstehen, reiste The New Arab nach Berlin, um Mitglieder einer der größten palästinensischen Diasporagemeinden zu interviewen. Viele von ihnen leiden aufgrund ihres pro-palästinensischen Engagements weiterhin unter Zensur und sozialer Marginalisierung.
Der Film "Germany's Palestine Problem" gewann bei den WAN-IFRA Digital Media Awards Middle East 2023 den Preis für das beste Video.

Well, he's not wrong about gay men being mean and judgemental but between them, there is also a lot of obvious ass-licking. If anything, this is THE most obvious and problematic part of Berlin's ''queer'' scene since every other queer identity is overlooked and disadvantaged. This trend of him or others coming here to use it as a playground whenever they're having some kind of crisis, just perpetuates more trouble than cultivate a real community feeling, which is what the culture here actually needs.
Thanks for the feedback Matilda. Do you not think of the nightclub as having a sacred status in queer culture? A place where we lose ourselves to find ourselves, a place of community or a safe space. A place we can process trauma through joy?
