Beautiful
Yeah, heat rises! No mystery here
He is just so much fun! I miss working with you!!!
Aww miss you and Minx too!! Lol he is a little too much fun at times!
@@ReleaseCanineAZ ha! You always get the dog you need....
That was tricky.
Well done. Very exciting container search.
He is such a nice independent worker!
How did you know to call it so quickly when she went under the vehicle?
Essentially it's the location of her bracketing and my knowledge that she will always drive right to source. She doesn't usually struggle with pooling, so trusting her desire to put nose on source in the straightest path helps us call things a little quicker. The water truck box - it looked like it could be inaccessible, but she had bracketed onto the box so clearly, that even if it was blowing through from the middle (under) or from within the box, either location would still likely result in a "yes" for where she was. Essentially - making a risk to call it without a final answer, but also, if it was an "easy" hide, she'd have pinpointed by the time I called. Take the risk sometimes! :)
@@ReleaseCanineAZ I need to go back and watch it later with all this detail in mind. Thanks. Nice risk you took.
@@ScentWork_org Thanks! I'm finding with experience, the risk is getting easier to swallow! lol (also doing more Elite vs. AKC... AKC makes you risk averse).
@@ReleaseCanineAZ I feel the lower levels of AKC are the opposite for me. If I miss a hide in one element, I still have 3 more to go. Whereas if I miss one in NACSW, I don't earn a title that day and have to repeat it. The exception is . . . elite vs. Detective. I learned that lesson last week. They need to allow for one mistake. OMG.
@@ScentWork_org Totally agree in lower levels :) But I saw the same issue in Master interior this past weekend. It's hard to take that risk to call a high hide! Elite you have the freedom to do so without immediately ending your search.
Is it me or was that a lot of area to cover? She moves fast.
Lots of space! :) Lots of vehicles too!
@@ReleaseCanineAZ Yeah. I worry about ground hides in large areas. in Master on Sunday the judge used one near the start line and no other hide in a large area. A mind-bender of a search for sure.
@@ScentWork_org I heard about that! Trusting and reading what's pooling (or nothing) and what's source. Definitely a test on the handling skills.
Good teamwork 😍
What is this
Wow. That was exciting. The containers' worst nightmare. lol
lol! So much chasing!
I love this video. Thanks for posting. Was she distracted because she wanted to go in the pool?
So VERY distracted by the pool! lol When entering the search, that's all she could see is the big expanse of the pool. Learned some good lessons about threshold hides and her ability to think while working them around distractions (couldn't).
𝔭𝔯𝔬𝔪𝔬𝔰𝔪 🙄
Wow, that was awesome! I wondered what was going on in that yellow room...
That's a very cool location.
Thanks for sharing this and thanks for your comments. You really point out some important things.
She is so odor driven. It looked like it was hard to hold on to her sometimes. 🙂
haha always! I really wonder how it would have gone if she was off leash :)
@@ReleaseCanineAZ that would have been interesting. When she is off leash will she respond to your call if you want her to join you in an area?
She would, but it becomes a little chaotic because it adds handler focus and pulls her away from purely working odor. I think off leash would result in her possibly missing one and we would have to re-cover some spaces, which is why ultimately I chose to keep her on leash. I do believe I could have given her a little wider range once she got going thinking "containers", but trial nerves took over and I kept her closer to me and focused on checking each and every one.
@@ReleaseCanineAZ Very interesting. Glad I'm not the only one with trial nerves at times. I like how you broke that search into sections. It looked overwhelming and easy to get lost in.
Thanks for posting this video. Very helpful.
Very cool search and location. The glamour of bathroom searches. LOL
Aleks. Fun to watch Tana. Have never seen her work. Did you find all of the hides for this search. Can’t make sense of it. Looks like you found 8??
We did find them all :) the yellow room was pulling odor in from outside and so it looked like there was an extra hide that possibly went high. Deciding to leave that one was a little harder :) This was a few years ago, I’ll have to upload the more recent detective searches when I get them from the videographer :) our search style has definitely gotten smoother!
@@ReleaseCanineAZ that’s awesome. Please do upload more. Trying to het a feel for this class. Just watched one where Steve was talking to you at the end and have no clue what is being said. Damn youtube with no captioning. So fun to watch. Thanks for answering my question.
Thanks for sharing the video. I have been looking for activities to keep my 15 week old Golden Retriever engaged. Her nose is always on the go, and I think scent work would be great fun for both of us. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the good work.
Steve is always such a nice guy
I love how you trust Tana so much and just let her do her thing - that was wonderful! ❤️
Nice! How much time did you have on the clock? From the sound of it there was challenging wind patterns. Sounded like a bit if changing swirling wind.
I don't usually notice, but just looked it up and I had about 1:30 remaining on the clock. I trust that my dog is working at a speed that we usually don't have to worry about the clock, and that we cover areas so we don't have to go back (usually) :) Wind was mild in general, I don't remember it being a significant factor in this. It was warm though! I can see from the trees that the wind was moving left to right, so not too much disruption from nearby buildings (a parking lot is to the left). Lots of distractions though!! Squirrels chirping and running up and down trees, lots of birds, lizards throughout the landscaping :D!
Awesome job congrats
That was a nail biter!
Super cute!
Congratulations!
Awesome work you are the dynamic duo
why didn't you let the tortise play?
:) Pretty sure it hasn't been trained on essential oils! I'd love to see one that is though!!! :D
boy she remembers where it was.
What a team! Bravo!! Mary Ann
