Steve Urkel was a double-edged sword. When this episode came out, the show was already on verge of cancellation, but Urkel was popular enough to make the show stick around. However, he gradually took the focus away from the Winslows, to the point that by the time we get to about Season 5, it was less "Family Matters," and more "The Steve Urkel Show Featuring the Winslows."

When you talk about the intro being revamped, that happens in season 4. In season 4 the instrumental has some instruments added (i'm not good at instruments but i assume it's the electric guitar). Everyone's credit is changed (except Rachel but she doesn't appear in most of the episodes so she isn't credited too often). And the bridge part is completely cut out. So season 4 is when Mama Winslow gets her tennis attire and paddle not season 2 like y'all were expecting

Yoooooo i literally came to this video to see if y'all was gon talk bout Carl's haircut and y'all went IN!!! 😆😆😆. Homie said Carl went to SuperCuts 😆😆😆💀💀. And cuz imma fan..this episode, Rachel Short Story, and Basketball Blues...Carl had this haircut😆😆😆. If y'all look real closely....the Class Reunion episode in which Carl was tryna lose weight..he had a haircut but it was waaay betta than this. It looked good. Its only these few episodes i mentioned this haircut fucked up..but the rest of the episodes...his hair looked normal even tho he was receding. But yes...the last 3 seasons..the bald look was for Carl. If you notice in season 8...he wasnt completely bald..he let it grow a lil bit. It looked good. But this episode..bruh 😆😆

And also when Eddie gave the tickets back to Buddy Goodrich...notice Carl's face. He was shocked, then proud. Proud that Eddie stuck up for him.

Lol i gotta say this tho...cuz imma fan of the show. This episode in particular...the assault scene..the insults toward Carl...this was hard for me to watch as a kid cuz Carl was like a father to me..even tho i had my own father who was the best...Carl was my favorite TV dad. But then i was able to watch as i got older. But to answer ya questions on why these things occured between Carl and Buddy...this the late 80s and really the 1st season seemed "white" Later on toward the end...Carl seemed betta..he didnt take no shit. And i knooow y'all talked about Carl's haircut the 1st couple episodes. That shit looked fuuuucked UP!!! 😆😆 Carl was betta when he went bald. But this episode...Really i looked at Buddy Goodrich as black man that acted white. Black ppl usually scared of the police. And Carl acted a punk in the beginning. Shoulda arrested his ass when Buddy shoved him. I'm not really a fan of Urkel but the reality is he made the show better. Carl was my dude and notice in the last 2 seasons how the audience clapped for Carl when he 1st entered a scene. Family Matters was boring, without seasoning the 1st season. But as the seasons progressed..it was seasoned to perfection. Lol sorry for the "book" i wrote 😆😆
