An Anime-Only's Thoughts on The Ending
Attack on Titan both hit and missed for me.
I'm sure you can tell, this was a very low-effort video. I'm reserving my time and efforts for the analysis stuff, I didn't want to sink too much into a "my initial thoughts on the Attack on Titan Finale" video because who cares about some guy's opinion?
Better stuff to come.

The Last of Us: A Study of Manhood | EPISODE 3 ANALYSIS

IF YOU KINDLY WISH TO SUPPORT MY CONTENT: ko-fi.com/reddrik HBO's "The Last of Us" episode 3 broke me. Bill and Frank broke me. This magnum opus has sent me spiraling. There is a lot going on beneath the surface of "Long, Long Time," so I've analyzed it and made a prediction for where I think the series is headed. Masculinity has become a rejuvenated academic study lately. Cross-referencing cha...
THE LAST OF US Abridged Recap | EPISODE 2 ANALYSIS

HBO Max's "The Last of Us" Episode 2 is here. I'm ready to make fun of it and then be really deep and analytical about it. Something, something, the duality of man. Kind of a meme, kind of a deep-dive. As we see the relationship between Joel and Ellie shifting in "Infected," I think we're already afforded some conclusions to questions the pilot episode proposed. Also, the mycology professor has...

I like stand-up and I like films, so here's a video about them. There has been a resurgence of interest in stand-up comedy. Between Andrew Schulz’ “Infamous,” and Bert Kreischer’s trailer for “The Machine,” the genre is flourishing this month. What IS freedom? IF YOU WISH TO KINDLY SUPPORT MY CONTENT: ko-fi.com/reddrik As Attack on Titan makes its way into the latter half of season 4, right now is the perfect time to revisit some fundamental ideas behind the series and how they’ve evolved over time. The Secret Psychology of Attack on Titan | ANALYSIS

As "Attack on Titan", "Shingeki no Kyojin" season 4 begins to roll out, I wanted to explore some some dark, sinister ideas Hajime Isayama laced throughout the story starting all the way back with season 1. With substantial psychological influences from Sigmund Freud, Erich Fromm, and Carl Jung, "Attack on Titan's" genius knows no bounds, and I'm hoping to open a dialogue on said sentiments. I'm...

At 8:10 , the Marie-Louise Von Franz quote reminds of the song by Devotchka, "How It Ends". I never saw the Jean back story, but now I see Marco as the father figure Jean never had. Marco would have been a great father figure to anyone. Just look at the way he expressed his faith in Jean.

I like everyone surviving and getting lucky breaks in the finale. AOT has already hammered the points of brutality and death throughout the story. Does it need to repeat that point past ad nauseum? We get it already. They do not die in the end, I think, because Isayama is not trying to communicate a nihilistic meaning. For me, that highlighting of 'not edgy nihilism' makes the finale stronger.

Yeah it felt a lot more like you just spouted for 25 minutes that "erm actuall everyone is a slave" and don't know that were all going to die. Who gives a fuck? What difference does it make that were all fated to die? pls stfu and read One Piece because All I heard was you quoting a bunch of depressed white people, repeating the same thing for 25 minutes and not even explaining why their way of thinking even matters. for the love of Nika shut the fuck up and watch One Piece and learn from that instead of being satisfied with telling us Armin a slave but thats okay because hes satisfied with ehats in front of him. Cringe ass shit fucking embarrassing that's this is all you can come away with. Do yourself a favor and read One Piece and then switch the main characters for each other in eachothers story, then you might have something interesting to say. This whole essay reeks of a Eurocentric perspective of thought, glazing the fuck out of whatever your depressed daddies say the world is. You compared Armin to the Christan line "be like children" and you equate that to freedom despite how the christan perspective and practices applies to children. The bible asks you to obey and listen to your parents and authority, it has nothing to do with the idea of a child's inate liberty. You don't know how you sound Read One Piece and learn about Anarchism ALL you said is "we're all slaves" so then if we're all slaves why even mention it? who gives a fuck? it's a unchangeable reality apparently so why do you give a fuck if people know it or not? Why the fuck did you make this video what did you change? Fucking infuriating that I sat through this entire thing thats all you could see and then somehow thought it was worth sharing, "Erm ahhh were actually all slaves, but thats okay as long as your satisfied" READ ONE PIECE YOU PATHETIC FUCK

One must balance. Theres nothing wrong with enjoying little pleasures and enjoying ones entertainments. But when you can not prioritize what you must you fail. Too many people act like its childish to watch anime and play games. Many think its idiotic to ever talk smack about such things. But one must fight the titans and having some nice bread as a reward after a successful mission

I think you might have mixed up certain psychological traits, what Jean faces is what Jung called the shadow something Eren faced as well, the subconscious darkness within, Jean's act of covering his ears symbolizes his internal struggle and confrontation with his fears and insecurities, akin to Jung’s concept of the shadow. By facing these situations and still performing his duties, Jean undergoes individuation, integrating these difficult aspects into his conscious self. This integration is crucial for his psychological growth, as he learns to act despite his fears, showing a maturation of character. I don’t know about the mother complex thing but I guess I learned something, then philosophically speaking he is subject to isayamas initial moral argument which is Arthur Schopenhauers philosophy of “the will to live” Jean’s actions, even when he finds it hard to process situations, illustrate the overpowering nature of the will to live. By covering his ears, Jean symbolically attempts to shut out the overwhelming reality and his internal conflict, yet he continues to act. This duality highlights the tension between his personal desires (for safety and comfort) and the compulsion to survive and protect others. Despite his reluctance, he is driven by an innate force that propels him to fulfill his role within the Survey Corps, embodying Schopenhauer’s notion of being a slave to the will to live, same thing happens to Eren and the rest of the corp members, Erwin being an amazing example

If he doesn't do the rumbling, Paradis WILL be destroyed. In the alternate ending it was properly established. So in that sense, Eren had no choice but to do the rumbling as that's the only way forward, destroy the rest of the world and save paradise. However, does Eren himself want to do the rumbling? Yes he does because the world is cruel, he was also disappointed with the world, hence he did it. But in saying this, if he could have done it differently to get an outcome, he would have. That's why he continued the rumbling, even after Zeke died. He saw the future after he fully activated the rumbling (not before because going in he just wanted to do it) that the only way the Titan curse can end is if Eren dies at the hands of Mikasa, and everything must happen exactly as it did for her to kill him, he ran different simulations but only 20% would survive no matter how he tries. In other words, as a founder, if he could have seen a different outcome after becoming a Founding Titan, he would have done so, but the only outcome is kill 80% die by Mikasa hand, End Titan curse, because That's the only way Ymir become strong enough to break her bond with The late King. Summary 1)Eren had to do the rumbling. 2)Eren wanted to do the rumbling. 3)Eren plan to kill 100% of people outside the walls 4)When Eren got full power, he discovered that killing 80% and dying in the hands of Mikasa will end all Titan curse (he didn't know that before going in) he tried to see if he could kill less people, but he couldn't. 5) Eren killed his mom because of what he saw as founder, that everything must be as it is. No changing.

Love your videos man. I have another opinion on your biggest issue with the end of show. I very much sat on it like you said and Honestly i mostly agree it would hit different/be what aot is if reiner died or jean or connie or any others... It is weird all of them besides levi suffered heavyish damage(not counting shifters) i agree with ya that it is off not AoT like. But Ive always looked at it all like Nobody has been safe or fully capable of saving eachother . Like how Eren said in 2nd season your still worthless brat nothing has change etc all of that. I feel like why all that is for the most part gone from this last episode is because Eren finally was able to do something to help hes comrades in the form of getting rid of the titans or atleats having a role in it all. Almost as something he always wished for and as we saw in the show and was always searching for. The part where everyone turns into titans and how fast pace it is even though we just "lost jean and Connie" I feel like its another classic aot troup were cinematicly and music wise its not acting like another terrible lose.. The characters are but not anything else. And we and the characters are left sinking into another sorta hell another old levi squad got wiped out moment another ewrin and enlisted death.... But that gets quickly flipped upside down completely 180. Ive always viewed it or felt it as erens most positive wishes amd goals and wants for life and more importantly hes friends and just hes attempt to do something and thats the something he did or was a part of. So that part of the show has always felt good for me personally especially when you look at the certain ways the shows presents itself as a media(camera shot, music, ya know the ways to capture everything thats going on or gonna happen completely) Cuz thats what the show is always on the nose about. So thats why i didn't feel off put from that part Honestly i can see reiner dying thag be pretty dope ending for sure no lie.. But i do like seeing him get that redemption / moment with mom Different time lines frlol And it is lik weird that like bird falco can dodge everything but then i was just thinkimg literaly first episode falco already talking about flying in the sky and shit so idk lol

My problem with Eren breaking down is how extreme it is. He has been shown to have emotional moments in Season 4 like the flashback with Ramzi, but crying over killing a child (eventually) and someone you love getting with another man are on very different levels in terms of severity. And I don't agree with the explanation that he's young, characters should be shaped by pre-established information about their character rather than arbitrary justifications such as age.

Here something from my clipboardyou completely misinprate him,if you wanna make analysis recontex all the word he said and not make asumpsion by one word,armin-so do you did this for us Eren-no Eren-i wanted to trampled everything Eren-i wanted to see this sight Eren-i just wanted to do it very badly Tell me how are you gonna explain this dialogue?this is what i hate about casual wiewer they completely didnt understand simple dialogue like this Armin-determination?you do this by you own will and you call it determination Armin-why this is happening,is there really no other choice Eren-i thought i do this for protecting you guys, but sahsa, hange, floch died because of me Eren-why?why this is the the only "possibilities and outcome that happening", Eren-its because iam 1diot that got too much power Eren actually have choicee,he doesnt got slaved by fate but in fact got slaved by his own will and his own egoism ,his main motive thst makes him "choose" rumbling is to satisfacting his desire of false freedom, the sight of freedom he always dream of,sure there other motives like erased titan power, protecting paradise, save his friends, but deep down he wanted to satisfacting his egoism

I watch the series with my son it is by far one of the best stories I've seen in modern times.
