Great! I'd watched your previous video and have just completed my first fretless electric conversion with an old Sx Strat copy. I'd done two classical guitars previously. I had all sorts of issues with the superglue finish, which I probably didn't apply enough of - but I did get the fingerboard to a nice smooth finish (in places). I also had issues using a radial block, would probably go for a levelling block next time (as you just demonstrated). I've ended up with a couple of frets where the in tune notes are slightly off the markers. However it is still a really playable guitar and I'm shocked how good fretless is for heavy grunty grooves and lots of overdrive. So yeah, thanks for the videos! You should check out Beau Hannam's channel. He explains why you Don't use woodfiller in the fret slots. I'd never heard of it before, but it just made so much sense.

The scale length of any given fretted stringed instrument neck is twice the length from nutt to octave fret. In other words, the 12th fret is in the center of the string.

1:00 this happened to me when I was putting together my first partscaster. I had an old strat body and I tried to put a Jackson style neck on it. Naturally, when I tried playing the strings (prior to any electrics being installed thankfully), the notes were in the wrong place. The 12th fret was one octave up and half a step down from the open string notes (E string would be D# on the 12th fret for example). My solution was to take off the wood between the neck slot and the neck pickup slot and slide it down to what the scale length for that neck would be. It worked out but it didn’t leave much space for the pickups I wanted to use.

I wouldn't worry so much about mix and matching different scale length necks-as long as you are aware of the fact of difference in intonation and make accommodations for...if confused by the off placement of notes in relationship to where the frets were....I think placing a nice durable veneer over the fingerboard would help...just a suggestion...from someone who is 'all in' with the fretless thing.
