    This is a nice-looking square, and a very convenient size for some measuring situations. But, how exactly did you _guarantee_ that the ruler is exactly 90.0000 degrees to the wood piece? It seems that you might be depending on the end of the rosewood being _exactly_ square, or maybe the beechwood piece?

    • @tinkeringdaily
      @tinkeringdaily Місяць тому

      Use a square to fix the inside Angle, and sand the outside with my hands. Although a bit clumsy, this is a simple way.

    • @jurikristjouw
      @jurikristjouw Місяць тому

      if you mark a square line, then flip the ruler and mark it again from the same side, the lines should be parallel. This trick also works for bubble levels.

    • @walterwinnipeg7350
      @walterwinnipeg7350 Місяць тому

      @@jurikristjouw Yes, your suggestion is one of multiple ways of verifying a 90 degree angle for this gauge. I had originally raised the question because the video did not at all offer a method for establishing the exact 90 degree angle before drilling the two holes for the pins. So, an inexperienced person following the video could easily have ended up with a slightly-out-of-square square.

  • @Skreedence
    @Skreedence Місяць тому

    Nice, I'll have a go at this. You could also use an offcut of the steel rule instead of the beech wood slice.

    • @tinkeringdaily
