MM3D: Two ways to quickly climb Stone Tower (Details in description)
1) Extended hookshot method. Requires Hookshot and bombs (0:00). Extended hookshot info: www.zeldaspeedruns.com/mm3d/tech/extended-hookshot
Enter the first person glitch:
- Quickly shield down a bomb and pull out another one
- Put the other bomb far enough from the first one so that they don't explode at the same time
- Shield and hold pictobox. When the first bomb explodes, release R and picto box
- Turn around and lock with L before the beamos becomes lockable
- Shoot the hookshot while holding L in the air like in the vid
- While still holding L, roll a few times until you reach the beamos.
- Keep holding L and hookshot. Press the Mask or Item menu
- Release all the buttons andleave the menu
2) Goron missile method. Requires Hookshot and Bow (0:41). Goron missile tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/USbPIoMbOl0/v-deo.htmlsi=ZucwqI9QbPncLIUR
- As goron, equip a usable item on X or Y and hookshot on X or Y
- Pull out picto box
- Look at the same angle as in the video
- Switch those two items
- Take a picture
- Quickly press A, your hookshot button (X or Y) and A again
- You should now be in a curled position (with hooksht you will see the hookshot flying if it worked)
- Roll backwards and ground pound around the same time as the video
- Quickly press A to uncurl, and press either goron mask or ocarina right after (not too fast, otherwise you won't be able to move)
- Move to the platform

World Record :) Insane luck on Twinmold second phase saved this run. 8:4x is easily possible. I used the practice patch to create the save file and give myself the necessary items. I obviously only used items that you can get before ever entering STT, since these are the rules. This was played on the original game (not the practice patch obviously)

i cant get it to work... my zora keeps climbing the ledge and burn to death.. are there any more inputs after setting up the bomb ?
Are you holding A ? Holding A makes it so that the zora will dive. If still doesn't work, it's probably your position that is wrong

The moon can't crash into Termina if you crash into the moon first
Is the moon smaller when it's at the original starting position? It's looks like it's not very big here with Goron Link as opposed to the normal cycle closer to the ground.

The home buffer may be used continuously in cases such as moon warps, but may freeze when returning to the game. Is there any way to deal with this?
I don't know of any way to avoid crashing when doing home buffers. It seems random

After doing the crouch stab, I think you need to hold L and spam down on the control stick

Regarde à 26:15 : je donne un coup en arrière de la statue et j'active l'ocarina pour tomber, ensuite je joue la chanson pour ralentir le temps juste avant d'entrer dans une loading zone, et voilà le temps est arrêté

I remember it being much more difficult than the sword setup. The position and aim angle before the stick slash are precise

I keep crashing after the 7 frame backwalk, is this because link may not being walking perfectly straight backwards?
Yep I think that's mostly the reason why it happens. I remember having to practice backwalking with homebuffers to get moonwarp more consistently 😅
@@willdelum2340 Thanks, I guess the problem is, I need to re-hold down with each buffer since just holding down will cause the homes screen to scroll so I cant get back into the game.

I wonder what the performance would be on a real 3DS machine (preferably the old 3DS model) because the render distance is absolutely incredible. If the original 3DS is capable of rendering this many polygons at once, then color me even more impressed with the 3DS capabilities than I already was.
I was playing with an original New 3DS at the time (video recorded with NTR app using Wi-Fi)

I was almost certain that it wasn't a real 3DS with the performance being so good and the video being captured so nicely (so props! 😄) But that's really amazing to me. You can't go in the grassy area that way. You need to activate the cutscene where link goes in the moon, or use a glitch called moonwarp
